  • Shenandoah National Park extends along the Blue Ridge Mountains in the state of Virginia. There’s a road called Skyline Drive that runs its length, and a vast network of trails includes a section of the long-distance Appalachian Trail. I’d never really heard of Shenandoah National park, but on a road trip from Florida up to Massachusetts for my sister’s wedding it was the perfect midway stop.
On this trip I hiked from Skyland to Stony Man trail out to Little Stony Man and joined up with Passamaquoddy Trail back to Skyland. The trail is fairly flat and around 3.5 miles round trip. I stayed at the Fell Cabin in the Skyland area overnight.
