Uli Lommel had an unusual career. He went from working with Rainer Werner Fassbinder, one of the best known directors of the New German Cinema, and directing a highly rated movie like The Tenderness of Wolves to making terrible low budget movies. Barry Hickey, who worked with Lommel on Revenge of The Stolen Stars, called him a kind of simple person who liked the simple things and often had the ideas, but not the budget to do it.
I'd add "I Spit on Your Grave Deja Vu" to the list. I think it was rated a 2.4 on iMDb last time I looked. It's one of those, "Oh, it can't be THAT bad" movies. Nope. It's WAY WORSE. Now, I really enjoyed the original, but boy it's a tough watch. The sequel is a tough watch for all the wrong reasons. It's putrid bad.
I think Cosmic Sin should be classified as an action movie. A terrible one, stuff, but ai never had the impression it was going for scary or creepy vibes. What hapoens if they make so many Dark Web movies that it warrants a timeline. :)
Hope you add Bring it on Cheer or Die in your next Worst Movie list or a video dedicated to Cheerleader Horror Flicks and yes folks they made a Horror Sequel from a Comedy Franchise and by Syfy of all people
I am convinced that there cannot be a worse horror movie than Noah's Shark. I would have you put that to the test, but don't want you to lose 70 precious minutes of your life
Cosmic Sin is Military SF rather than horror. The director seems to know and love the Military SF genre, and given the budgetary constraints it's meh-okay.
Erm Armin Meiwes was gay, and it was a guy he ate and killed (which was consensual to the point where it can be). The gender is relevant as it was the victim’s penis that they planned to eat together, though that went badly.
Too many Tub-original type entries here to bother creating a list. Any of those of direct to streaming things are GOING to be bad, as a matter of principle. Terrifier was an exception to the rule
IDC how many people love it, Spookies is the WORST movie ever. That and Palmetto are the ONLY two movies so bad that I wish that I could have back the time and money.
Thanks to Josh for pointing out Bruce Willis' bridge-burning career consequences. A lot of people are trying to overlook that in the wake of his progressive dementia, but they're often trying to give him a pass for things that pre-date any neurological pathology. For those who haven't been there from the beginning and only have the revisionist version to go off of now, there are horror stories about how much of a jerk he turned into going back to "Moonlighting," especially once he had a hit with "Die Hard." Kevin Smith held back some after the soul-crushing experience of working with Willis, whom he previously considered a hero. After the film was out, Smith was more detailed about the experience, revealing Bruce wouldn't take direction, wouldn't attempt alternate takes, nothing (He covered a lot about it in an interview on Marc Maron's podcast in 2011, then in his book "Tough Sh*t: Life Advice from a Fat, Lazy Slob Who Did Good" published in 2012). Note that this was filmed in 2009, at least a decade prior to Willis' diagnosis (Note: He went public in 2022). Smith has since walked back his past comments, and most in the business now refrain in good taste from mentioning how bad Bruce was long, long before any behaviors could reasonably be attributed to a physiological condition, just fame and money, but Bruce Willis was always a problem on the set back when he had no excuse for not remembering his lines. Note: I will add that there are definitely years-long phases pre-dating a definitive diagnosis of degenerative neurological disorders (e.g., Alzheimer's, Lewy body disease, etc.) where there are changes that are only noticed in hindsight as symptoms. Usually these are shifts in personality, mood, or interests. For example, someone in my family was a life-long atheist with no interest in theology (i.e., he didn't debate religious people; he just didn't care and had never attended any church since his childhood), then started going to church regularly, including bible study sessions, interacting primarily with church people, even encouraging family to become religious, etc. This was well into his retirement years, so we assumed he was just dealing end-of-life questions. Nope. What followed was cognitive impairment, memory loss, etc., which led to the diagnosis. Bruce's last few working years are well-documented, and that's not what I'm talking about. You might even excuse several years before that. But this goes back decades. The interesting thing about the business is that a lot of the people you meet on your way up are the same ones you'll deal with on your way down. And so very many of those people didn't want to deal with Bruce Willis that he was stuck making junk that makes it onto lists like this, which is the only footage most of us will ever see of his later work.
Many years ago (again, long before Bruce got his diagnosis), Kevin Pollak did a radio interview where he brought up "The Whole Nine Yards". During the interview, he described how Michael Clarke Duncan took offense when he thought Pollak had taken his per diem payment when it was really Pollak’s. Duncan reportedly took issue with both Pollak and the PA who handed Pollak the payment, and it delayed filming that day. According to Kevin, when Bruce Willis found out about the tension, he stepped in and defended Pollak. Kevin Pollak spoke highly of Bruce Willis and said Bruce was also instrumental in getting him back for the sequel. You say there is a long history, but you only bring up one person's testimony. Yes, Kevin Smith did have a bad experience with Bruce Willis, however, at the time Kevin started publicly badmouthing him, Bruce countered that he was frustrated on the set because Kevin seemed more interested in smoking pot than actually working with the actors. It's very possible Bruce was not the one who was unprofessional on that set, especially considering he's hardly the only person Kevin Smith has ever had problems with. You also bring up Moonlighting. Yes, at the time of filming, there was bad blood between Cybill Shephard and Bruce on the set (although they did patch things up years later). However, according to the other actors, the bad blood was initiated by Cybill. Curtis Armstrong said in interviews that Bruce was laid back and joked with everyone, while Shepherd had a bit of a reputation for being a diva. Apparently, "if anyone ever said no to her, they were gone. That's why she was the way she was". So again, maybe the feud wasn't primarily Bruce's fault. I don't know Bruce Willis personally, maybe he was more of a jerk than I realize. Or maybe he was actually less of a jerk than you realize if you're only going by Kevin Smith's one-sided account of what happened on the set of Cop Out (especially considering the two apparently got along fine while filming Live Free or Die Hard). What I do know, is that the man is going through a horrible ordeal suffering from a degenerative disease while his family is heartbroken watching him deteriorate. So maybe the reason people don't think he should be getting publicly ridiculed by people who don't really know what happened years ago on TV and movie sets isn't because they're "giving him a pass", it's because they're being humane.
@lordoshower3478 you're free to. Having seen first hand what this is like, I have to stand firm. We have no idea how long he was suffering from this and the entirety of his symptoms therein. Regardless, his flaws as human being beforehand, to my knowledge, do not necessitate this commentary's lack of grace and compassion, especially while the man is in his final days. Perhaps I'm too sensitive to the issue, but I found it distasteful. No problem, though. I can unsubscribe and avoid such commentary in the future and you can enjoy it. Take care.
LMAO. You and Bruce will both be alright. You more so, but yeah, everything is gonna be okay. So because he got sick, no one can ever talk about the man he was before? But ofc, miraculously, his condition retroactively also explains his personality all the way back to when he was a young man. Get a grip, stop clutching your pearls over some multi-millionaire upper class asshole. It's absurd.

Ulli's films got progressively worse. The Boogeyman is trashy fun and even its silly sequel but the quality dropped significantly over the years.
9:24 - I don’t feel bad for him. “You reap what you sow” according to some book written a long time ago.
'My existence is infinitely paramount'. That is top-notch boat-party banter.
"I don't believe it needs to be on lists of worst movies"
*first entry to a list of worst movies*
Completely agree with you on the Bruce Willis issue. Sad he is unwell, but hey, he shouldn’t have been a dick in his past.

@@Rando1975 Agree 100%.
Is that the last one where the original actress came back as the mother of the lead?
That redneck wife pissed me off more than any of the men did
@danielrubinstein896 yes it is.
@@Rando1975 I didn't even finish that one, the first 20 minutes I think is horrendous enough
Armin Meiwes actually ate parts of a “consenting” man. He did not eat a girlfriend
There is a movie just called, “The Dark Web”. It centers around a group of friends who play a game and it goes badly.
28:43
That sounds more like the plot of unfriended dark web
Happy thanksgiving

Good job as always Josh. I havent watch any of these but might give at least a few a shot.
I am surprised you never have talked about The Butcher by Michael Moutsatsos when it comes to awful horror films
Hope you add Bring it on Cheer or Die in your next Worst Movie list or a video dedicated to Cheerleader Horror Flicks and yes folks they made a Horror Sequel from a Comedy Franchise and by Syfy of all people
Great takes as always
How did you pick the ten movies to review, Josh?
31:13 impossible movie to find
I bought it at a thrift store this summer….and put it on not knowing just how bad it was.
Stanley's Gonna Getchya is a certified banger.

I wonder if a Larry Clark film would end up on one of these lists they are always rated extremely low

Cannibal cabin, movie timeline nightmare as that car number plate means it came out in 2006. (56)
After everything that's come out lately The Roast Of Bruce Willis aged horribly

Armin Meiwes killed a man.
and it was consensual and filmed. weird interesting story.

Just a quick question Josh, if you do not think Haunted Boat is bad enough to be on a worst movie list then why did you put it on a worse movie list?
@@rodrathgaber3267 it’s by score not his picks
You truly suffer for your art.
wow there's a lot of crap out there for Jeepers Creepers 3 to not make the list.
Yeah...Like Jeepers Creepers Reborn
