personally I think the multiple knives kill was a good homage to Michael's sick sense of humor and how killing is just a game to him and he enjoys toying with his victim
Yeah from what it looked like he was just trying to find the right size. Pulls knife...nope to small...bam! Next nope to skinny...bam! Next nope that's a bread knife....bam! Next pull perfect! Well see ya later!
I really enjoyed the movie. The flashback exceeded my expectations. However, you do make some good points. In particular, what you said about Karen & Cameron. I hated the latter in the last one but was gutted when Michael mercilessly killed him. Great video.
@@dominiquejones3805 ya Cameron’s kill was brutal, and hard to watch for me- the emotion of Allyson having to watch helplessly while he was just demolished.
It seems to me that we are PRESUMING Karen is dead…i got a different vibe. Not saying this is true, but would be cool imo, if you recall, she breathed in deeply when she stood in “his spot” looking out the window at Haddonfield/her reflection. First of all, she was LURED up there by young Michael standing in the window. Itd be cool to me if she was “breathing in” whatever evil had also possessed Michael, thus taking on some of his traits and…not dying when attacked by Michael… And thats another thing…the way the attack was shot and portrayed seemed like a dream/imagination scenario which would also explain how he got to the house so fast without showing him even walking there (it was a street over)…bc he didnt do it Just trying to think out of the box
Ya honestly, and I know this doesn’t make for an easy final movie, but everything after the mob beat him down and essentially defeated him, seemed like a dream sequence or imagined. What if the mob did kill him? And the last film is about the legacy of evil and it’s impact on the psyche. Lame, potentially, I know, but something doesn’t make sense if we take that ending at face value. There’s more to it. When Laurie began voiceover speaking, every thing felt over. It sounded like she was saying his curse is the fear and evil, not that his body couldn’t be killed, which it seemed to be, but that his power over people couldn’t be killed. I don’t know, I’m confused still by it. I loved it tho!
I was kind of confused about when Tommy saw the body of the escaped mental patient who had jumped off the building. He said they couldn’t tell if it was him because he always wore a mask but Michael had been captured and in custody for decades. Surely, they would have seen his face in photos or on the news???
I look at that moment as Tommy knowing it wasn't Michael but was hoping he could be convinced it was. He wanted to believe it but was still very unsure. Almost looking guilty.
I hate trying to humanize Michael, but the death where Michael puts all the knives in the guy kind of made me think he's just having fun with it. Kind of like a child. And when you think about it, his whole motivation seems to just be "go home and look at the mirror in Judith's room until I get bored," which also makes me think he may just have an extremely sadistic, childlike mind. Like I said, I don't like looking into Michael's psychology because it's more fun as a mystery, but that's how I feel about his apparent motivation and actions. It would make sense though, considering after his mental break, he was immediately taken from his parents.
This movie was alot to process. I'm excited to read to novelization so it can take me back to those scenes while also expanding on character and story like the 2018 novelization did. An overall good and interesting experience. 4 out of 5 stars for me 😊
Tbh I think he wants to be left alone. They intrude in his house. He wants to go home. Now when he looks out of the window is something new. I think he dose that to reflect on himself on his work. I think it was pretty great! Imma watch it again tonight in theater
My thing is its ok for jason to have super natural powers but when michael does it its a problem. Me personally i loved every aspect of this movie. As he was getting his ass whooped there is commentary with laurie and hawkins pretty much explanining (which is only their educated guesses ) that he gets stonger with fear. ( hint fredder krueger ). Pay attention to the ending when the mob had him pinned down and he got up you can see the fear in their eyes, he got stonger. And also i dont think that karen is dead.
I read the script and I'm glad Vanessa's moment was trimmed in the film. Hoping they never filmed it and it doesn't appear in the director's cut. It was excessive, even for this film.
Halloween Kills was everything I wanted in 2018. James Jude Courtney was beyond brutal in HKills, he did a great job! The kills were very brutal too, plenty made me yell aloud. The music was awesome as ever! I kinda predicted that a lot of the returning were going to die just to up the stake. Karen's death at the end showed that no one was safe and I'm very much interested to see how Laurie and Allyson cope with it.
They still could have included the phone ending. There was no need to cut it. Perhaps they can include it at the start of HALLOWEEN ENDS and then they do the time jump? The way they ended it, it's clearly abrupt and makes you think the next is surely going to start off right after it more-so than had they kept the original ending, but at least it's more fulfilling. Given the little Laurie does in this movie, letting the movie close with her is the MOST they could have done to at least send the movie off on a higher note than without her because now her fate is basically unresolved. I'm surprised they didn't do reshoots to include a more closing ending given it was announced MONTHS ago Ends was going to do a time jump from Kills and they surely had the time to construct something that didn't make it seem like the next was going to pick up directly after like this one did with the 2018 movie.
I do not think Michael Myers is supernatural if you rewind to the scene where he is hit in the back with a pitchfork and laying face down on the stairs you can hear Michael wincing in pain to the mask and very quiet wince I do not know of a supernatural beast that reacts in pain that way
He's stabbing the dude with knives setting up his crime scene. He leaves crazy shit for people to find all the time. Judith headstone for example. They just showed him doin his thing. Nice collection. It's juicy. I need those cases for mine.
I'm surprised how well recieved this movie was. I think I'm the only person that likes H18 over this one. I mean the flash back scene in the beginning was amazing and the kills were fucking awesome, but everything else in this movie sucked and was much worse than H18. I think the dialogue would be the worst in the franchise except for resurrection. The cringy dialogue and acting almost ruined the movie for me. I was able to enjoy it for the most part, but not as much as H18. I would rank this film 7th in my fav Halloween film line up.
I loved the movie, but I agree with you on a bunch of scenes that should've been different. Like Michael springing into action from 0 to 100 after getting punished by the mob.

They changed Karen's death Cameron's death and even that one guy that he stabbed si many knives in. He didn't do that in script that I remember lol. Still all awesome lol. Even the bit with the mob. In script I read it was more instant. Like they tearing him up then bracket stabbing him and michaelmyers takes knife from him kills him then everyone else. There was no pause. In this he's on ground for bit lol. They let it breathe like you said. Yeah that wS a odd misdirevt. But I guess they wanted to explore the mob mentality and the results of that. Michael putting his mask back on as the people surrounded him let you know Michael was going to put in work.
That seen gave me goosebumps with the amazing score. I felt bad for bracket it was nice seeing him back all old

Michael seemed more Terminator than the Shape. He's more powerful and indestructible here than in previous incarnations.
He seemed more like the Shape and what Carpenter honestly wanted just ramped up
@@CPSlayer nah, he was like Jason
@Saiyan King85 not really, we all know what Jason is a zombie. We don’t know what Myers is exactly
lol at guy saying he felt “uncomfortable” that Myers plays with corpses and kills children. In a horror film? How dare they!
Nah I think the pin cushion scene where he’s using multiple knives on that old guy is because he’s actually testing which knife works best
It seemed that he was tormenting the wife, who was dying, but still watching him do that to her husband. But, Myers has no problem multitasking. haha
