Unfortunately I came home with Kari's flu but she was fighting cancer. I lost my dear friend and then in 2013 had my own cancer battle. No telling what her record could have been? I think of her every year when the Belmont is run and I see the flagpole knowing she’s buried next to it with her nose pointing to the finish line, that’s a honor they don’t give to many horses anywhere! To read her story I don’t know how that can’t bring tears to your eyes!!

Mike Smith was really whipping her in this race. There is a legal limit for jockeys to hit horses (6 times) but obviously it is overlooked in the racing industry.
honestly, if only Secretariat were still alive and he would have bred Zenyatta the foal they would have would the prince or princess of the horse racing world

I love them both dearly but Big Red would take the race. Z makes most of the top ten greatest race horses lists but secretariat has a lock one the number 1 spot. But you gotta love Z!!! She’s something special!!!
Zenyatta is now FOURTEEN YEARS OLD. STOP BREEDING HER! It hasn’t been successful so far and you could cause her to die from complications of childbirth; and for what reason??? The business of horse breeding, and that’s obviously the only reason! Her website has gone dormant, so who really knows what her health status is?
She’s fine in foal to Candy Ride for a 2020 filly. Zenyatta herself has not had any problems foaling, with the exception of losing her 2018 pregnancy late due to an infection.
Zenyatta wins, she dances and she drinks beer, she’s something special!

There's no plans to breed her for 2019 out of concern for her health. Also 14 isn't old for a broodmare, it's not a danger age for pregnancy.
