Also, to let everyone know, Failing while using the lockpicking board doesn't give XP anymore to Thievery :) I will make a video about the practice bomb so that it gets fixed too :)

In this video was you saying that we should use gloves anyways even if it doesn't have a shocker? I understand that medical gloves or insulation gloves help prevent shocking but i wasn't sure if it helps to have them even without the shocker. I might have misunderstood what you was saying. I have picked without gloves plenty of times i just wasn't sure.
@@B-Shep if you realise there is no shockers then you must remove the gloves as any glove but the open finger gloves will make it harder to lockpick.

I recall you talking about a specific keyboard that helps with lock picking
You want to use a keyboard that has easy to-press touch. Like a membrane one rather than a mechanical one. or something that you can very quickly press and depress. I have know resorted to using my old cheap membrane keyboard while lockpicking... My K100 of Corsair is great but the "grey" keys are hard to activate so I have to smash it which makes me lose touch in turn.

tbh they should get rid of the time during lockpicking so you can take it a bit more relaxed like you can in fallout and skyrim

Hello, how are you ? Please, what are the best keyboard and mouse settings, and also the best settings you can learn on? I have been suffering for two months. I have not opened more than 50 - I also put the F button on the side of the mouse - thank you
There are 2 ways that you can do it, lower the DPI on your mouse around 450-500 or lower the lockpicking in the setting of the game. this is all up to you.
What is the hardest is the feathering of the "F" on the keyboard. Some brand have keyboard on which you can change the actuation of the keypad and are expensive but other are not. At the end of the day you have to test what is good for you.

Can you repair the medical gloves with a sewing kit to lengthen the life of them?
Not anymore, this option was removed a few hotfixes ago ;)
Great video, do other items of clothing affect picking? Long or short sleeves, pants/shirts, masks/hats, backpack off, armor off etc.
Have the devs commented on anything other than the glove types to increase success? Or is it truly as simple as the gloves?
As simple as the gloves. No other items help/affect lockpicking

3:15 Actually that's not correct. Take a look at the graphic Tomislav posted on Twitter on 6th of July. Skill affects everything when it comes to lockpicking.
You are right about it and I now wish I thought of checking it out again... The differences are minimal but a skilled lockpicker could easily get one or 2 more F tap depending of their current skill. Good catch Jakob.

some more tips:
- When skilling using the bear gloves turn the pick to the far left or far right (probability of breaking - this is what you want - is much higher there)
- While searching the sweet spot move your mouse rather in steps than continuously. This helps to find the "entry" faster and helps you to stay there. Alternatively you can do very soft (short) taps along with a higher frequency. Very soft taps take less lockpick durability and you can guess the direction for the next step (see below) a bit better.
- After having found the "entry", start to wobble. To do that first hold F until you hit the resistance then do short press/release intervals. Make sure that the press duration is slightly longer than the release duration (to make sure the turn goes further as you get closer to the success). Move your mouse slowly in the correct direction.
as for now, you only get xp on successful attempts, thus you can recycle your bear gloves.

@@InnTecMobileFishing I generally use 1200 mouse dpi and have SCUM lockpicking sensitivity at the "e" of the word "sensitivity" (value should be 0.3ish) - but that's an individual thing.
I know there is one gold lock in the killbox. What level are the other locks in Killboxes??
you will get a double iron lock(easy) with no lock protection, one iron with zapper protection, one silver (medium) with protection and the gold.
Hello - why when I move the mouse it turns in reverse it made me fail - when I move the mouse to the right side it becomes the left side
that's a strange bug. and you are not revere in the settings of the game? If not you might need to delete your saved game file in and redo your settings
@@AlistarzGaming Yes, I deleted everything, then re-downloaded the game, it was fine, but now there is the same error
@@spook3735 you might need to delete the part that has your game settings stored. It's usually in the C: user folder

But what you said about the practice bomb is not true.
For unsuccessfull attempts you are earning skill points too.
Yes, They had removed the ability to gain Xp from failing it but it seems to have been changed and now you can fail it and earn half the Xp from succeeding it.

Wrong info at 19'03. Failing in defusing will gives you XP as well.
Hmm I'm checking this now as the last time I was failing the practice bomb, it wasn't giving me any. I had told Tomislav that players were cheesing their ways to advance + because of it and were getting themselves infinite fame... It might have been a correction that got removed due to a hotfix.
Well you are right they have changed it again and yes you can get Xp as well as fame from failing the practice bomb which I hope will be changed back to what it was. It's a vital raiding skill that can be too easily abused, unfortunately.

Hello. I made lockpicking board, iron lock and I can not train still. "Pick basic lock" is grey. I am holding advanced lockpick in my hand. Why so? Can u help me?

what it your dpi? i move my mouse a like 2 inches an it goes to one or the other side completely
450-500 when lockpicking but I do no use this technique anymore as you can lower the sensitivity of the lockpicking mini-game in the options which I set at 8 with 1050DPI.
New ways to level up locking picking now?
No other way than succeeding or accepting that you won't get advance+ unless you keep a character for a very very long time!
Game lock picking is harder than actual lock picking. Haha
I'm actually looking for a beginner lockpicking tools and board to try my hands at it IRL.
@@AlistarzGaming you can pick them up pretty cheap. The best one to start with is the see through padlock, great for beginners and is a real easy pick, but will give you knowledge. Don't buy the 'guns' until you have a good feel for it though.
Can also check out the lockpicking lawyer on UA-cam. He makes it look super easy.

Thievery for me wont level up by breaking lockpicks it's stuck at 3550 and wont move from there on the practice lock, any reason for that ?
Only successful attempts will now level up your skill. So do not use the bear gloves and work you way up by successfully getting locks off :)

Haha and here I thought I was talking too slow :) just kidding I should have thought of adding a slow motion on one of the locks that I succeeded to. At least UA-cam let you do it :) I need better editing skill ! A zoom on my hands would have been a good addition too. I hope it’s clear enough
