I was expecting new suits that had been requested but didn't make it, such as the ATSV 2099 suit, ATSV Ben Riley suit, 60's cartoon suit, spectacular spider man cartoon suit, spectacular spider man's 2 symbiote suits, ITSV peter B parker suit from the 1st game, and the comic book 3d sell shaded suit from the 1st game. Unfortunately none of these made it and I'm gonna have to look towards modders to bring this content to the game.
There needs to be more crimes. I can only keep doing the same 5 crimes for so long until it gets boring. There is some good and also some bad with this update.
I want them to add a option to disable symbiote crimes, so annoying fighting just normal dudes for a roleplay, then the giant grey hunk and his goon squad show up.
we paid ten extra dollars for less content than SM1. i do not think this game met expectations in the same way that Spider-Man 2018 did. SM1 had 3 dlc chapters in the 3 months following the release. SM2 has had nothing in the 5 months from release. insomniac had the DLC for SM1 basically ready by launch and was probably polishing at that point. IDK what theyre doing right now with the rumored/leaked DLC for SM2. this game feels lacking in content for a lot of people because compared to the original it objectively IS lacking, and at a higher price point too which just makes it worse.
A cool thing they could add is that of you literally 100% the entire game and get every single trophy then u can get the option to free play as venom, I think that could be a cool because he is such a cool character with a sick design

The update is dog. Everything was lazily implemented. The black tendril colors have a white effect for some reason which they couldn't bother to fix and the end bossfight is a mess with peter having a mix of both white and black tendril colors. I know it's hard to implement, but like it took 5 months to implement. It would be okay if they just implemented it in like a week after the complains as a simple update but for it to take that long just to be that bad is not good
The new update just didnt interest me enough to come back to the game, waiting for the DLC, than I will be back, but new game+ is just a waste in my opinion, if I want to play a game again, I just start over, thats just how I play, Im sure plenty of people love new game+, its obviously why the added it, its just never been for me...
Im happy with the update maybe because I didnt expect much tbh especially if no dlc was being added. The suits are only paid because its for charity but after that is finished it would become free as for the new suits I think they're better than the dlc's suit
The only crimes I have are symbiote ones despite finishing the game (they should not be in the world anymore), making it boring and repetitive. I would've liked some news about a dlc and a release date to make me wanna play the new update.
Its just too little too late, I know new game plus isnt just a switch the devs can flip (especially with the hack), but come on. In my eyes, there are two types of new game plus updates, either Spiderman 2 or gow Ragnarok style. You either add nothing new and add it in either at launch or a couple weeks post launch, OR you take longer to develop the update (pretty sure it also took gow 5 months to add new game plus) and add in extra progression. I know sm2 added SOME progression, but counter argument, golden styles are useless (sometimes even detrimental) and the double suit mods could have been added in an afternoon (also the 9 new recolours, that I cant argue against).
honestly i really can't be disappointed. I had no interest in other suits or bug fixes. Time change and Tendril swapping is all I truly wanted and I'm happy they added that. I only have 2 complaints as of now. They're just a little nitpicky if anything nothing too major; you should be able to toggle Peter's aggressive voice lines and the distorted scream he had when using surge/blast. Although if you replay a mission before peter gets the anti venom suit it tricks the game into using the distorted voice again somehow. Just annoying replaying a long mission just to hear peter start tweaking. My second complaint is the fact we can't parry with the spider arms anymore which kind of messes up the no symbiote tech spider build. Honestly just add more interactive crimes and this game would be much more re-playable. Tldr; I'm just happy we got an update at all regardless of the fact most of these additions should have been here from the start.

my favorite suit is the Big Time stealth suit, in the comics it was green, red and blue. they could have added it to the game with the suit color variations but they totally missed it
Batman arkham series easily solved the no content issue by having AR challenges for stealth and combat. It gave you a best time, 3 challenges to complete and had leaderboards. Might be too late for this game but would love to see an interpretation of this in Spider-Man 3.

The Rami symbiote suit had white web shooters not black! Go find a clip of the movie and see that you are wrong. I do agree for some voice lines for the symbiote, and they need symbiote finishers. The crime system to me is alright. We also need weather changes. Edit: Just be happy we got a second game. You guys always whine. Games take a long time to make just be happy we got an update. Somethings may need to wait.
The quality of life elements are what I expect. However, they should have been available at launch rather than releasing an unfinished game to grab awards and boost console sales. The new symbiot suit styles are dope! The new suits are pure trash. Looking forward to story DLC and I hope they are good and long. Story is still solid even with acts 2 & 3 being rushed. Gameplay is still epic
I wish the Ultimate levels were like the Superior Spider-Man effect in the 1st game where you get +1 to health and damage. Extra health to deal with those big symbiotes is needed
The difference between the two level up systems is that Spider-Man 2 only gives you skill points to keep the difficulty and risk of dying rather than become an immortal god.
They need to add base replays back from the last two games and add in all the old suits from the first installment. Also, some abilities are missing from the first two games. I miss the upper cut stagger on enemies and venom dash jump. In the third game get better writing team because in the first game writing hits me hard. I noticed the writing weaken in miles morales, I thought it was going to make a comeback with this game. This has so much promise and potential, but it misses, big time .
There is base replay for the hunter bases and sybiote bases you just have to go to the mission selection, and you can only do the hunter bases and not the blinds correct me if im wrong @@eddie3207
Only thing i dont like is, that new game plus removes the suit changing stuff, so like u could have a normal suit equipped and when peter gets the Symbiote for example, he'll still be wearing the normal suit, and the parry being the Symbiote always in ng plus is also frustrating, but other than that i think it's a pretty good update

While I am happy we can finally choose which costume we can use in the main story symbiote missions, it’s unfortunate that when you get to the mission where Peter first received the symbiote, whatever costume you select beforehand stays the same. Your red costume won’t seamlessly transition into the normal Insom black suit like it does in normal story. And it won’t transform into a black suit of your own choosing. You still need to select the suit you want between cutscenes.
Ofcourse it's disappointing, 2 god awful new suits, no new dlc, the time of day doesn't allow us to choose weather conditions, ultimate levels take the piss to upgrade, destroyed the amazing Spiderman 2 suit. New game plus straight up should have been on release but to take 5 months. It's the long wait for features that should have been day 1 now because of how long this took to come out the "hype"/ drive to go through it again has died.
I really wish the Symbiote surge mode still had us change into the Symbiote suit. Imagine if there was a menu bar where you can customize that, so that whenever you use the surge, you change into the selected suit/variation. Imagine if they also added a web of shadows mechanic where you can quick change into a Symbiote suit (people have pointed out it could use the same toggle as Miles’s camouflage).
Trash suits as well. I was really hoping for the spiderman unlimited suit from the show, one of my personal favorites, instead we get dog shit suits from designers. smh

New abilities? Where? Bro is lackin fr. One "upgrade" just changes your gadget color, adds nothing to it. The other one just allows you to equip both already existing upgrades instead of choosing one. And that's pretty much it besides you also grind your *ss to unlock those Suit Styles. And there isn't any bonus suit for you beating the game like it did back in Marvel's Spider-Man 1 People indeed was waiting for new things because yes, normally NG+ is just about you start a new game and keep your abilites at maxed. But this basic ass mode took 5 months for them to add it. And as if it was something f*cking huge thing, they made separate Trailer where they called a game who went 0/7 "Game of the Year" 💀 Nah man, I can't defend Insomniac for lacking this badly.

I'd like to add something. They didn't plan the amount of tokens needed to upgrade everything very well. The city tokens needed to upgrade suit tech are only collected through certain missions, and once you complete those missions, you can't get city tokens anymore. In ng+, all the new stuff needs a ridiculous amount of tokens to unlock them. I completed both the regular game and ng+ completely, and I have 5 suit tech upgrades I can't unlock because I don't have enough city tokens for it.

Only dev who really make patches that drastically change the game is Techland, any other dev who patches single player games only does it to polish details or improve performance not to add stuff, do something groundbraking for the game or change anything.

Im getting so tired of the internet man. People cant appreciate good things and always complain. This update waa good, yeah the suits might be lackluster but ng+ and the ult levels were a huge addition, we can also swap tendril colors and change the time of day. There isn't much else to be added besides suits.

Like there are multiple lines in the story that are never adressed again like "why didnt we know thet were taking Li" im pretty sure the game was meant to be longer but sony didnt let them.
They could have added tobeys wrestling suit and andrews first outfit. Also i wouldn't mind if they could added more acrobatic moves for peter and miles while swinging and fighting. Hopefully we can get it in the dlc but i doubt it

Why do updates need to contain new content to satisfy players? Baldurs Gate has obviously spoiled gamers by adding an abundance of added narrative to an already massive game.
I also don’t think it needs a reason for people to constantly load it up. After playing vanilla Skyrim more than once there’s no reason to boot it up again. It’s not an mmo.

But unfortunately single player games aren’t meant to thrill us for long. Unless the makers add new dlc missions, actual cool suits from the comics or miles morales animated movies, and new Spider-Man abilities from the comics, or even a spider mobile. I’m not sure if they’re making a new Spider-Man game though. Insomniac always gets better each time they make a new game. I always try to be as fair as possible. I think people have been harder on Spider-Man 2 due to people's huge expectations and the fact it's taken 5 months for an update. Still a great game nonetheless!
I think the spider arms & symbiote abilities harm this suits selection more than people realise. Because a large portion of Peter’s suits don’t fit with the tendrils or arms. It works for Miles because he just has two forms of electricity. Not really hard to make that clash with his suit. But Peter has to use the tendrils or the arms regardless of if it fits the suit. Even if you don’t use the abilities, they still pop up in finisher animations. A simple fix would just be to create a toggle where you can remove the arm & tendril finishers. That way you can still use them for suits that canonically have arms & tendrils & have a mode that makes Peter more like he was in the first game.
I understand people not liking this update, But acting like we're not gonna get anymore updates and that it's the end of the world that we didn't get anything else. I'm not saying all the people who find it disappointed does this, but there are some people who do this which i find are morons. Also, it's a NG+ Update. So they added NG+ and just added a few other things as well because why not. I don't think it was meant to be a full ass update.

-no choosing web colour maybe i want some white webs on my symbiotes or i want miles having black webs
-no switching from just anti venom abilites to normal venom abilites (they kept it anti venom but changed the colour)
-no miles suit styles for that end game suit
-no harder gamemodes (a difficulty harder than ultimate)
-no 100% finish suit
Anti venom does nothing else but damage symbiotes easier, that's the only difference lmao. Also miles end game suit does have styles

my favorite suit is the Big Time stealth suit, in the comics it was green, red and blue. they could have added it to the game with the suit color variations but they totally missed it

Batman arkham series easily solved the no content issue by having AR challenges for stealth and combat. It gave you a best time, 3 challenges to complete and had leaderboards. Might be too late for this game but would love to see an interpretation of this in Spider-Man 3.

The Rami symbiote suit had white web shooters not black! Go find a clip of the movie and see that you are wrong. I do agree for some voice lines for the symbiote, and they need symbiote finishers. The crime system to me is alright. We also need weather changes.
Edit: Just be happy we got a second game. You guys always whine. Games take a long time to make just be happy we got an update. Somethings may need to wait.

I wish the Ultimate levels were like the Superior Spider-Man effect in the 1st game where you get +1 to health and damage. Extra health to deal with those big symbiotes is needed
The difference between the two level up systems is that Spider-Man 2 only gives you skill points to keep the difficulty and risk of dying rather than become an immortal god.

They need to add base replays back from the last two games and add in all the old suits from the first installment. Also, some abilities are missing from the first two games. I miss the upper cut stagger on enemies and venom dash jump. In the third game get better writing team because in the first game writing hits me hard. I noticed the writing weaken in miles morales, I thought it was going to make a comeback with this game. This has so much promise and potential, but it misses, big time .

There is base replay for the hunter bases and sybiote bases you just have to go to the mission selection, and you can only do the hunter bases and not the blinds correct me if im wrong @@eddie3207

Only thing i dont like is, that new game plus removes the suit changing stuff, so like u could have a normal suit equipped and when peter gets the Symbiote for example, he'll still be wearing the normal suit, and the parry being the Symbiote always in ng plus is also frustrating, but other than that i think it's a pretty good update
Yea the surge mode works in the normal save file , but suit removal in NG+ disabled the feature .

@@eobardthawne82nah that doesn't work sadly kinda sucks in cutscenes you still have the white tendrils in the last mission if you have the black ones equipped and vice versa if you have the white tendrils equipped during the part in the story you have the black suit, still mostly good update

I was hoping for the cosmic suits for Peter and Miles
Would be cool if we could request suits, so they know which ones to add.
While I am happy we can finally choose which costume we can use in the main story symbiote missions, it’s unfortunate that when you get to the mission where Peter first received the symbiote, whatever costume you select beforehand stays the same. Your red costume won’t seamlessly transition into the normal Insom black suit like it does in normal story. And it won’t transform into a black suit of your own choosing. You still need to select the suit you want between cutscenes.
Ofcourse it's disappointing, 2 god awful new suits, no new dlc, the time of day doesn't allow us to choose weather conditions, ultimate levels take the piss to upgrade, destroyed the amazing Spiderman 2 suit. New game plus straight up should have been on release but to take 5 months. It's the long wait for features that should have been day 1 now because of how long this took to come out the "hype"/ drive to go through it again has died.

I really wish the Symbiote surge mode still had us change into the Symbiote suit. Imagine if there was a menu bar where you can customize that, so that whenever you use the surge, you change into the selected suit/variation.
Imagine if they also added a web of shadows mechanic where you can quick change into a Symbiote suit (people have pointed out it could use the same toggle as Miles’s camouflage).

What people don't understand is that, sure it seems too little but the amount of coding that it would've took to add stuff in and make sure it doesn't break the games other coding.
That's exactly what I'm saying. Everyone was asking for changing day-time, they did it, and now there are people asking for dynamic weather. Like, that is not easy to implement.

One "upgrade" just changes your gadget color, adds nothing to it. The other one just allows you to equip both already existing upgrades instead of choosing one. And that's pretty much it besides you also grind your *ss to unlock those Suit Styles. And there isn't any bonus suit for you beating the game like it did back in Marvel's Spider-Man 1
People indeed was waiting for new things because yes, normally NG+ is just about you start a new game and keep your abilites at maxed. But this basic ass mode took 5 months for them to add it. And as if it was something f*cking huge thing, they made separate Trailer where they called a game who went 0/7 "Game of the Year" 💀

I'd like to add something. They didn't plan the amount of tokens needed to upgrade everything very well. The city tokens needed to upgrade suit tech are only collected through certain missions, and once you complete those missions, you can't get city tokens anymore. In ng+, all the new stuff needs a ridiculous amount of tokens to unlock them. I completed both the regular game and ng+ completely, and I have 5 suit tech upgrades I can't unlock because I don't have enough city tokens for it.
Hear me out a traversal and combat challenge mode with like 5 levels of increasing difficulty that time how fast you can do them. With an online leaderboard as well as a PlayStation friend’s leaderboard

Only dev who really make patches that drastically change the game is Techland, any other dev who patches single player games only does it to polish details or improve performance not to add stuff, do something groundbraking for the game or change anything.

Dont support lazy devs and half baked excuses. There's absolutely no reason we shouldn't have launched with NG+ and a weather (Day/Night) on day one those features were clearly ripped from the game to be added later thinking we would praise them. The suits they added didn't take 5 months to edit I have basic editing & graphic designer knowledge and I could've cooked up more than 9 skins that only switched some colors around come-on be realistic eveyone. Not to mention we didnt get all the suits from both Spider-Man 1 and Miles Morales is alrady a disgrace and wouldnt take much effort to port over into its sequel. They literally have the assest, coding, and designs on a drive plus each one could easily have multiple styles. Blows my mind how they did a charity event yet greedly horde all the proceeds only giving the donation value at 1 million when they're already banking off this game past titles from Insomniac and they lay people off then ask for charity... 🤔🧠
Yes. New update is not about suits. It's about NG+, stop talking trash about suits... There are 70+ suits and you talking about NEW SUITS? I personally recommend to play GTA Online if you want to play just for suits.

Im getting so tired of the internet man. People cant appreciate good things and always complain. This update waa good, yeah the suits might be lackluster but ng+ and the ult levels were a huge addition, we can also swap tendril colors and change the time of day. There isn't much else to be added besides suits.

Honestly, you shouldn't be hating, its not insomniacs fault. The game wasnt finished at all but sony pressured them to realease it early. Like there are multiple lines in the story that are never adressed again like "why didnt we know thet were taking Li" im pretty sure the game was meant to be longer but sony didnt let them.
They could have added tobeys wrestling suit and andrews first outfit. Also i wouldn't mind if they could added more acrobatic moves for peter and miles while swinging and fighting. Hopefully we can get it in the dlc but i doubt it

Why do updates need to contain new content to satisfy players? Baldurs Gate has obviously spoiled gamers by adding an abundance of added narrative to an already massive game.
I also don’t think it needs a reason for people to constantly load it up. After playing vanilla Skyrim more than once there’s no reason to boot it up again. It’s not an mmo.
I love the game so I feel bad for people who try to find anything wrong with this game and any games, no game is perfect just enjoy them for what they are and be happy.

I like your take on the matter, especially when you said the game is so good that people knit pick it. Their hate of the update, reflects just how much more they want to play insomniac’s Spider-Man. But unfortunately single player games aren’t meant to thrill us for long. Unless the makers add new dlc missions, actual cool suits from the comics or miles morales animated movies, and new Spider-Man abilities from the comics, or even a spider mobile. I’m not sure if they’re making a new Spider-Man game though. Insomniac always gets better each time they make a new game. Perhaps will get these things in the next game. 🤷🏾♂️

I always try to be as fair as possible. I think people have been harder on Spider-Man 2 due to people's huge expectations and the fact it's taken 5 months for an update. Still a great game nonetheless!

I think the spider arms & symbiote abilities harm this suits selection more than people realise. Because a large portion of Peter’s suits don’t fit with the tendrils or arms. It works for Miles because he just has two forms of electricity. Not really hard to make that clash with his suit. But Peter has to use the tendrils or the arms regardless of if it fits the suit. Even if you don’t use the abilities, they still pop up in finisher animations. A simple fix would just be to create a toggle where you can remove the arm & tendril finishers. That way you can still use them for suits that canonically have arms & tendrils & have a mode that makes Peter more like he was in the first game.
Suit swapping is completely optional
I understand people not liking this update, But acting like we're not gonna get anymore updates and that it's the end of the world that we didn't get anything else.
I'm not saying all the people who find it disappointed does this, but there are some people who do this which i find are morons.
Also, it's a NG+ Update. So they added NG+ and just added a few other things as well because why not. I don't think it was meant to be a full ass update.
