Mike Horn : K2 Calling
- It's been a month since I got back from my third attempt of #K2 and I am ready to turn this page and fully focus on the next step of my #Pole2Pole expedition. I still think back at my time on the mountain, the moments I shared with Fred and the lessons learnt along the way. So here's a little recap clip of our journey and our experience in Pakistan before we start sharing new photos and videos of a completely different and breathtaking part of the world!
In less than a week, I will be leaving from Alaska on y boat Pangaea to embark on my next adventure: the crossing of the Arctic Ocean via the North Pole with my friend and great polar explorer Borge Ousland.
Can't wait to share this exciting next step with you, so stay tuned! #MikeHorn #NorthPoleCrossing

I think turning back - and knowing when to do so - is the single most admirable and courageous thing that any high-altitude mountaineer can do. It's a much bigger victory than summiting itself, in my book. To come back down the mountain alive - now there is a true victory.
K2 has to be the most magnificent,
awe-inspiring mountain on the planet. At the same time, it is also intimidating and terrifying! The ultimate challenge in mountaineering, especially with the unpredictable weather conditions.
"Life we only have one of". Such speech should be shown to all tourist trying the Everest.

Extraordinary pictures and insight.
Bravo!
Climbing that mountain might be the ultimate test a human being can pass to really know about himself, this is a place that keep reminding you that you're alive, each second.
This man is inspiring. He makes me want to be a better person. He makes me want to push harder and get the most out of every day.
Thank God for people like Mike Horn,, because men like him are probably the only reason we are all still alive! That and God's grace and Love for us.
I could listen to this guy's stories all day!
Always amazed how you see thing and talk about everything ! your a Great Man ! We adore you !
Glad to see you

K2 and 3 other more than 8000 ranges mountains in the world ont of 14 are in Shigar Pakistan.I belong to this beautiful valley Shigar.I never went at k2 base camp but one day I will definitely go there (Inshallah).I love these hardworking porters of Shigar who carry more than 35 kg weight from Askoli to K2 base camp more than 90 km to make both end meet.My father used to go k2 when I was 5 years old.I love my father who is my hero and my roll model. I also love K2 ,Gharashabrum 1,grashabum2 ,grashabrum 3 ,4 and broadpeak and all the hardworking porters. ❤️

Comfort being alive comfort in living your life.. ❤️

Vídeo fantástico. Parabéns amigo
People in 3rd world countries avoid hardships (I live in such a country) because we have lived them, and then people who doesn't have them, look for them. The human mind is very special, but I guess it makes sense.
Hahah it´s true. I live in Argentina but it also motivates me to get more out of my confort zone (with training and taking safety measures). Take care!
Where you live india or nepal ?
Wow ! thank you !
Thanx Mike
This video is special for an underachiever like me
Really Great
Salute
Mike, I wish I could shake your hand one day. Let me know when you come to Paris. I've reed two of yours books and I think you need to do a film about it, a big production film
Life lessons that one can only learn by living it.
So good Mike
Been following this guy since 2015 and I hop and pray whenever there's a next time for you Mike horn you will make it to the summit!

Cool video, very nice photo.
You get crazy about k2 thats called love
Awesome
Jinxed, whenever you come you you brought strong winds with you.
I like u and ur adventures, I hope I'll be able to climb k2 and meet you one day

Sick video
Salut Mike, l'amour d
'un druide ! .
Well said Sir🙏🇮🇳
« Mon principal but c’est quand même de rentrer à la maison hein » avec l’accent suisse🇨🇭👌😏
The sounds more like a South African accent to me.
@@StewartMidwinter Mike Horn is from South Africa and his friend (the french speaker) is from Switzerland
Les Suisse ils parle lentement😂
@@StewartMidwinter The guy is swiss tho
@@MrCollewet thanks, I see that he is a Swiss citizen. But another commenter mentions that he was born in South Africa, which explains his accent when he speaks English.
waw superbe images
beautiful Pakistan 🇵🇰💯
❤️
"Comfort is being alive!!!" Just as simple. Mike Horn. #mikehorn #mikehornexplorer #motivation @mikehornexplorer
Our adventures can only be a true success if we come back alive
Is there coming a documentary about this Trip, because this Video Last only 4 minutes, would Love to see a Wohle vídeo about 30 or 40 minutes 🤗

Love You From Pakistan, Thanks For Sharing My Country ♥♥🙏
Can someone explain his comment at 2:18 "7% Oxygen" at 7500 meters? From what I've read, the atmospheric pressure at 7500 meters is roughly 40% of what exists at sea level, not 7%. Air normally consists of ~19% Oxygen and about 80% Nitrogen. I have never heard that the percentage of oxygen in air diminishes with altitude. Does this happen and if so, can someone cite a source to substantiate it?
I have no idea but I know sometimes people talk about oxygen in the blood and not in the air. 40% of 19% is 7% so maybe that's why ?
This guy is just unbelievable. Much respect for him. I feel guilty being here at home watching this video while drinking a hot chocolate.
👍👍👍👍
My dad swears this is how he got to school everyday
God, I love Pakistan
“Life is the most precious thing that we have and we only have one ☝️!!! “ Mike Horn

*In the Hall of the Mountain King*
i really hope they get it one day
me too but seeing how popular K2 is now i would be surprised if Fred is going to try again
How do you feel about the fact that according to statistics the likelihood that you die on the way up to K2 is by 1/4? I love mountains but I also love my life. I will never understand this because people are not fully in charge of their life anymore when they do expeditions like that.
Zacharias Pröll when are you ever fully in charge of your life?
Mike says: " life....we only have one."
Some other people say that we really live after we die.
Good lesson 🙏 God bless you in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. 😇
3:38
does anyone knows the name of the mountain at 1:19 ?
K2 in Pakistan
That's definitely not K2, I think it's the Ogre which they pass on the trek to K2
Thats the great trango tower
Which country ?
Pakistan 🇵🇰💯
So ?
Its not alpine style if you use porters
P C porters to reach base camp of k2 is normal practice because very remote place. Then summit course in alpine style no sherpas
I used to like M. Horn but now he’s become too big headed and too commercialized, I get fed up pretty quickly. Disappointing!
So, thumb down for that! 👎🏼
Pakistan govt should ban climbing at k2 life is more precious than climbing mountains
