LOL He's in the episode all he did was say an extra line, show us the radio while he's in the same room (set) saying the news about the escape. Anyone could've done it but his voice is more radio friendly.
Oh poor Lynn. Hoping it works out for her. I'm sure this guy will do his best, to maintain the friendship between them. Bea is appearing very ungrateful to Mum, who is putting herself at risk letting her stay there.
I live in the USA and used to watch this show when I was a teenager but then they put it on in the middle of the night. I think they felt the contents was inappropriate, why I don't know since it wasn't an worse then the soaps we watch now! so I lost track of it and I think they ended up canceling the show, which sucked because I never got to see the series finale! I am glad I can finally see how it all ends! Thank you for downloading these shows!
As he sat idly perusing the script for episode 31, Teddy's eyes were drawn to scene 46.... ..."Teddy's head is torn off" He slumped in his seat. He remembered earlier, better days when he'd won that scholarship to RADA and all the promises they'd made. The Romeo to Sue's Juliet. A shoo-in for the part of that Peruvian bear with the marmalade fetish. Pantomime starring alongside Goldilocks. But nothing came of it. Any of it. And now this. His misty eyes re-read the line......"Teddy's head is torn off" He wept for what might have been....
Doreen is such an irritating child. It was only a few episodes ago she was acting like she was the hardest woman in the prison. Now, she's crying over a toy.
The amount of times that actors are recycled in multiple parts is quite comical really. It's like there was only a small pool of actors to choose from at the time. Maybe the production company only used certain actors . Or maybe there wasn't too many actors back then.
Butterfield is a swine and has been completely unfair to Lyn. He wants to get a life and mind his own business. His son looks old enough to me to be able to make his own decisions regarding who he gets friendly with. Bea escaping from hospital was very cool, just a shame it could impact on mum though in the long run if she is caught there.
It's amazing how every time someone escapes, no matter what their shape and size, miraculously find clothes that that fit them. I'm pretty average in height and weight , however still reckon I could walk past dozens of clothes lines etc. and not find something that was right for my size and age.
It is like seeing it for the first time, i remember most characters, the story lines seem new. I can't stop watching 😀 two sometimes three episodes a night. Take about a year I reckon.
Alas no! It was only to go a handful of episodes for Catherine Roberts. She was acknowledged as having been moved to another floor which means she serves out her time (3 yrs) and does so away from the cast characters.
Bea is pretty selfish imposing herself on Mum & strong-arming Judy. Boreen's child-woman act is still ridiculous. So is Moni playing Top Dog. Better her than Noeline. Steve & his voice are hot even on the radio lol.
Because after the first 50 or so episodes, channel 10 moved Prisoner from 9pm to 8pm and had to start heavily censoring. They used to say "shit" in these early episodes. At least we got to see Marilyn Rodger's(Susie, later Queenie) beautiful body before the transition.
Bea is selfish and Mumis silly to go along with what Bea wants, crash at Mums whilst on her escape. Mum should be putting her pregnant grandaughter first and her parol.
Prisoner: Cell Block H is moreish and indulgent, much like biting into a fuck off cream cake when all you've done is dieted for six months. A fabulous series and in my opinion one of the most impulsive and addictive viewings in television history.... ....although my dad's still convinced that the set used to shake lol. Great memories this as a kid, remembering my mam watching it late at night here in the UK.
mine is 1# vera 2# bea 3# lizzie 4# door and fun fact my gran and fiona spence (vera) knew each other very well from highschool and they still remember each other from this day

What about Monnie? :-) She reminds me of the aunt that is kind hearted, and always tells you how well you're doing but never shut's up and you'd love to deck. :-)
I've seen this series so many times from the original run back in the day and at least every 2 years since UA-cam started, but this time is the first time Ive noticed Nolene rack as she got into the shower.
Awwwwweeee, dear Vera, I felt for her losing George like that. As for Monnie being super impressed with the large amount that Clara had taken, well, that bit made me laugh, hehe. 30th November 2024.
@ 18:16 Clara: "I was really only diddling myself!" Steve: "What am I going to do with you, Clara?" Me: "Well Steve, I don't know what you're going to do with Clara, but I know what you can do with me!"
OK so Vera is actually living in the apartment block owned by George Lucas. In the same block Anne Yates's apartment looks modern and flash yet Vera's looks like an old maidens cottage.
Oliver M I believe the reason between Vera's old maiden cottage style flat and Anne's modern, swish style flat, is because it is all Vera's mother's furniture. Vera seems happy with how her apartment looks compared to how Anne's apartment looked. 😃
I was looking at the historical exchange rates for the Australian dollar to the U.S. one and the rate was close to 1-to-1 in Jan. 1980 (if I read right, 1 U.S. dollar = .90 Australian dollar,) so the sums mentioned don't seem that big, but I get the impression that a dollar goes further in 1980 Australia. With the police looking for "George Lucas" I was waiting for the det. to say he's wanted for "raping the legacy of Star Wars" ... lol on Bea charming the hospital staff in letting down their guard
Nolene is absolutely hilarious, they should’ve called her seaweed, even the tide wouldn’t take her out🏴😂😂😂
I guess Steve is the only lawyer in town.
I'm surprised they had the actor portray Steve as well as doing the radio voice-overs at the same time while he was appearing!
LOL He's in the episode all he did was say an extra line, show us the radio while he's in the same room (set) saying the news about the escape. Anyone could've done it but his voice is more radio friendly.
He's gorgeous! Sadly they didn't recycle him in further episodes.
Well. There is only one wing of prisoners. Must be a very low crime rate area.
@@soapsnthings4182 I love his voice, was he the radio presenter as well, news reader?
Listen to the news report on the radio -Sounds like Steve's Voice :)
Oh poor Lynn. Hoping it works out for her. I'm sure this guy will do his best, to maintain the friendship between them. Bea is appearing very ungrateful to Mum, who is putting herself at risk letting her stay there.
They are always lowering the boom. Very nice seeing these episodes. I have seen them all. This is my second time viewing.
What are the chances of stumbling into a room in the dark and finding a dress and cardigan that fits you
100% in the Tube. What’s the chances of a former inmate being the cop lady put to sleep?
yeah seems a bit contrived
It's the hospital One size fits all😅
Oh! Doreen and the bear broke my little heart!

This was the same issue with me. I'm so glad I found it here. This is my 3rd time watching.
Bea the great escapee. One of many escapes.
I like Doreen, I don't see why others don't like her
She becomes a spiteful bully later on
Because she's an idiot and an asshole.
I like how silly and aloof she is, she's like the butters of Prisoner
Lizzie- did she drop dead? LMAO!!

LOL!
So funny
was the police lady in the ward with Bea a prisoner at one stage? The one that was going to adopt Suzie Driscoll?
Yes. She played Joanne Slater who Susie thought was her mum.
Doreen is such an irritating child. It was only a few episodes ago she was acting like she was the hardest woman in the prison. Now, she's crying over a toy.
I like bea,doreen and lizzie
Second chance mum had and she still willing to go back to prison by harbouring B. Not exactly a realistic scenariao!
I only just noticed in the end credits that the actor playing Geoffrey Butterfield is called David Cameron. 😄😲
I thought that Nolene was going to solitary. Whenever Bea gets sent to Solitary- she's there at least two episodes...
“We thought you could help us with this George Lucas...do you know where we could find him?”
“...Hollywood, CA?”
The cop sitting with Bea is Joanna later on look s like Clara come ING into Wentworth
The amount of times that actors are recycled in multiple parts is quite comical really. It's like there was only a small pool of actors to choose from at the time. Maybe the production company only used certain actors . Or maybe there wasn't too many actors back then.

Elizabeth Frantes I think it was stupid for her to rob a bank then she says she didn’t know better... she knew better... she’s worse then Doreen...
If Sid left Geoff and Lyn alone. Sid wouldn’t become a bun on the street. Or Geoff a thug turned Mel.
I really wanted Vera and George to work. They brought out the best of each other.
George and Vera are both SCUM.
Very rude of Bea heavying Mum like that. Mum wouldn't have said anything to the social worker there was no need for threats.
Bea the selfish bully got Mum thrown back in jail 2 years later.
Bea is a thug.
It's amazing how every time someone escapes, no matter what their shape and size, miraculously find clothes that that fit them. I'm pretty average in height and weight , however still reckon I could walk past dozens of clothes lines etc. and not find something that was right for my size and age.
Karen Nicholls yeah I reckon, love the show but hey, first time I'm seeing it since 1979.
My God. It will seem brand new. He a good trip.
I meant HAVE a good trip but was unable to correct it.
It is like seeing it for the first time, i remember most characters, the story lines seem new. I can't stop watching 😀 two sometimes three episodes a night. Take about a year I reckon.
I know that in general you remember, however there are those moments when you think "oh, I forgot about her" or didn't remember this bit".
Is it just my imagination or are there more comedic quips in the earlier episodes? 😂
Good old Monica, crying over Bea, when she got stabbed. Now she's trying to take Bea's spot. 😅😅
"She won't get very far in her condition". Too bloody right mate! Australia is a huge island and most of it very inhospitable.
Second honey moon ?...............
No I shot him ....... 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Am up 2 that line.
Made me tear up when doreen said her bear was the only friend she ever had and explained what her dad was like. No wonder she ended up like she did

George Lucas? He wrote Star Wars!
@ Keukpa: One of the scriptwriters had a great respect for the real George Lucas and was a big fan of Star Wars and so used the name as a tribute.
And dated Elliot Rodger's mum.
@@Agnethatheredhairkid For real?

I fell asleep on one of the episodes and when I heard Steve's voice I woke quick.
damn
And lighting up smokes near a pregnant woman and in someone else's house. I'd knock her over for that.
Nobody cared about a pregnant woman smoking or drinking in the 1970s or being near someone who smoked.

Invisible/non-existent pills starting at 20:59...
bea's cop guard looks like the prisoner in a later episode who suzie driscoll latches onto thinking she's her mother.
I wondered where she got to aswell. They put so much viewing time into that rape story line and then you never see the mother again!!
$240,000 in 1979 was a heck of a lot. You could buy a house with $40,000.
