I maintain two sets of gear. I have one for my recreational skating that has my Moxi Lolly’s and my Roller Derby set. Both bags are convenient for what I’m using it for. My recreation bag is a backpack where as my Derby bag is a larger wheeled bag. Both have a set of tools, and a full set of pads, a set of laces, hair ties, headbands and a first aid kit. My derby bag has more stuff in it because the safety gear is not only required but also more extensive with a mouth guard and helmet.
Dita is my inspiration! I am 46 and had a full knee replacement in the fall of 2019. I, like so many others, got back into skating during the pandemic. So looking forward to spring and summer! My husband built us a half pipe in the basement so we can practice during the winter (New England sucks for outdoor sports, except skiing). He also got back into boarding, so we are ready to pack our bags and hit the parks ☺️

"If something happened and a bolt rolled off", actually happened to my husband on a walking trail and he had to walk back on a messed up skate and had no other wheels on him to fix it. He's since fixed that and keeps stuff on him now.
i've been waiting for this video! thank you so much! so helpful! wondering what the brand is on your slim knee pads. I just invested in a set of S1 knee pads but want something less bulky for dance and low impact stuff.

I just bought roller blades and your vid popped up funny cause you say knee pads are more important than elbow pads in my head I was like oh idk why knee pads are needed for basic skating but as a kid just running on the sidewalk I broke my elbow 😂😂 I ordered both but just thought that was funny

Same 😤 I’m on week 11 and today they told me the manufacturer just added an additional 2-4 weeks so “I shoouuuuld have them aug 29 the latest” 🙄
@@lyssa6704 it's just getting to the point now where no one is going to be a repeat customer after this. They just keep putting up how to videos even when so many are angry and want answers

How necessary are helmets when you're skating on level terrain and not going very fast? I can't imagine falling headfirst instead of catching myself with my hands/arms or butt.
Helmets are definitely a personal preference and based on your comfort and confidence level. But I’ve definitely seen skaters wack the back of their head on the pavement after their skates roll forward out from underneath them! This can even happen while you’re just standing in place.
@@SkaterGirlSquirrel yeah I know it's probably best I get a helmet, I just need to get over feeling self conscious wearing a helmet
Re Bo aw, don’t feel self conscious about protecting who you are! Your personality and everything that makes you YOU lives in your brain, and you are irreplaceable! Get a helmet in your power color (mine is magenta), and that will make you want to wear it! 💓 Besides, anyone judging you for being safe clearly has crappy opinions. ☺️

I wasn't feeling this video or vibe... She kept saying she doesn't take her bag so why use them for a video on what's in their bag? Also why not promote safe use of pads and wrist guards more when this is clearly geared towards new skaters? I was a little shocked she dismissed wrist guards all together...So irresponsible honestly
