You seem to start with three layers although you don't explain why - I can draw an ellipse using the ellipse tool on my artwork layer but then when I go to select inverse is greyed out - maybe I am using a different version of Photoshop
No I am only working with 2 layers actually - what you are seeing is the background layer, my art work layer and a group that I made above that (that is not a layer though - it simply holds the art work layer) you do not need a group just a separate layer for the image you want cut out and the background layer. You'll see in my other videos to create my art I always place my coloring layers within a group.
No, tried everything - followed everything you did but 'Inverse' always greyed out so I guess it must be something to do with the 'options' key whatever that is
Not sure why it would be graying out - try again using the alt key and make sure your background layer is either white or transparent. Hope you get it figured out!
@@JessBircham Hi Jess Thank you for taking the time to respond. It was my own stupidity - I was using the wrong tool! Doh! Sorry to have bothered you. Your video was very clear and concise.
Are u from Birmingham.?
Lol no I'm from Bath originally :-)
What is an options key - I don't have one on my standard keyboard
Options key is on a Mac if you are not using a Mac you want to press the "Alt" key.
