As a new player, this is confusing as shit. But thanks for taking the time to make all these videos to help everyone out. We appreciate it.
No problem
If you have any other problems, issues or questions feel free to ask.
my god the old system was way better!!!!! BRING IT BACK
lol...i played Archage 2014 with the old system...it was good and simple...i didn't understand anything of this shit :P
The old trade pack system back in 2014 was the best...sometimes relaxing in safe routes...and high adrenaline with risky routes in enemy territory or in the island...so much pvp for packs
Very valuable information !! Thank you. Saving this video to my favorites
Good stuff.
And archeage101.com is always a good resources
as is www.paradoxgaming.net/aau101library
Damn J, pumping out quality every day!! Uda man bro!
Thanks.
After the stream last night I have like 8 video ideas. I'm going to see which ones I can make happen. My goal is 10 more videos before Unchained, but I'm not 100% Sure I can maintain that pace. We shall see.
once again nice video bro i love it but its almost 4 month i am out of archeage but i always love to see 101 because of u my big bro
Your videos are a godsend for getting ready for unchained. Thanks for you hard work.
Yeeess original tradepack system please. Nice video!
I think everyone wants the original trade pack system back.
And...thank you
@@ParadoxGamingNetwork Can confirm, this looks kind of objectively dumber than when I played way back when. Freshness might be a good concept since I recall staging like a mofo and if they want to deter that...but this whole 'no intercontinental trade packs' thing is kind of...dumb. What gets me gilda stars now?
Thank you for this great guide! I have never done pack runs/cargo and im a new AA player (Played original AA before but not gotten further and i rlly wanted to see the game in Unchained). Now i know enough to do these things ^^
Dude be pumping out vids like a machine. Love it bro.
What was wrong with the original pack system? There was choices to be made and PvP over packs.
Nothing was wrong with the original pack system, which is why in 2017 we were all like WTF why are we doing this cargo thing?
I used to run packs for gold 4-5 years ago, was rather good profit when fishing wasn't an option, recently returned and was straight up like wtf is this new system for packs? Why was it changed? This is garbage. You guesed it, haven't been a trade pack runner anymore
That's the big problem, they took away something for people to do and made it into a mathematics exercise.
@@ParadoxGamingNetwork Yeap, I'm getting depressed with that. I mean, it's great the AAU try to do it without the paytowin aspects. The hiran gear sound lovely great. But dude, the farming and trade system was one of the things that I enjoyed and now it looks like shitty shit. Dam, it would be great if the implement the very old trade system.
We don't deserve Archeage Unchained 101 series!
Great video structure man I love you so much, thank you.
The people deserve AA101, since so many people helped me so much with getting from where I was with making videos (cringe) to where I am now.
I remember the blood bath of freedich waaay back when groups first started doing runs there with merchant ships. There were like two groups that had them at that point. It was so much fun!
Yes, I remember this from Salphira and the stress of running 20 packs up on different people's backs and having to do the swaps in order to get the gilda on the right person.
So many good memories.
5:00 hording -> hoarding
Thanks for this video! Good stuff
I'm so ashamed of myself.
Although the saving grace is that hording is similar enough to the concept I was thinking about, that it doesn't' make me want to take the video down. I stared at it for like 10 mins and I"m like no hording is a word, its just the wrong word for an item.
I need an editor and a proofing team.
And a sound engineer.
And a director.
an editor.
I need staff.
Paradox Gaming Network hahaha your content is killer. Don’t worry keep up the awesome work
nice info havent played archage in a while but are they limiting pack making cuz i was guna make 4 packs to run but the game only let me make one?
Are you out of currency? out of labor? You already have one on your back?
thanks fo the tradpack info, is there a west side version?
The historical stuff? Naw, I did that as an overall explanation of how things used to be. The current stuff is done from both sides.
Great content, i finally understood what changed :) do u have a guide for how to level 50 up for any chance? i would really need to know what to do hehehe cheers
I will have a new players guide coming out. I'm trying to get all the ducks in a row for it. I really need to get onto 6.0 PTS for that.
Great video thanks Jay - I don't understand, if I make a pack in Rokhala and take it right across the continent to solis the best I can hope for is 3% gold boost on turn in, yet I can get 30% making one in Solis and handing in at the same place? I can't have that right, what am I missing?! I should be getting more for a longer journey.
So a pack made in Mahadevi and taken to solis is worth 10 gold. A pack made in Rokhala and taken to solis is worth 19 gold.
The base gold price is higher based on the distanced travelled. The higher the pack, the higher the price.
So a larder from Mahadevi would be 23 Gold and a Larger from Rokhala would be 38 Gold.
@@ParadoxGamingNetwork Ok so what on earth do all those colour codes for luxury etc mean with +30% on that spreadsheet??
I have a question! They will add old trade system ? How can u sell pack in rookborn from solis ?
There is no plan to add it at this time, but its something they are looking into.
Should I focus on leveling when unchained releases, get Gilda stars and buy land before it's taken?
Gilda stars come mainly from running your main story line, hitting levels, getting gold, etc.
I'll be doing a gilda star guide, but I'm waiting for 6.0 on the PTS to do that.
Tbh I don't get the whole land pack thing. I get that there are now only 3 locations to turn in packs. But can you still make any pack anywhere on the continent and turn it into these 3 locations or is that also restricted?
You can make a pack in every zone, you can run a pack to one of the 3 cargo buildings.
Packs don't cross water, so if you didn't get your pack at the cargo building and if what's on your back doesn't say cargo, don't go in the water.
What I remember the fondest of release was tending to farms and doing crazy routes, while hoping for the Thunderstruck Log that never came to make a car.
I didn't get very far in the game, but I was hoping to come back to unchained... I'm not sure sure now if the trade system is so out of choices...
The trade system is sort of broken in 6.0. Hopefully they fix it soon.
New player here, are there packs you can make in Auroria, turn in at Auroria cargo building in order to get Aurorian cargo and then bring that back to your continent (Solis for example) or Freedich?
If not, can you grow materials in a farm on Auroria and use a 2nd plot of land in your continent to make packs? If yes, is that even viable?
Thanks for all your videos by the way, they are extremely helpful!
So on the Auroria pack information, I need to dive into that one. I'm pretty certain they removed the packs from Auroria (they were a thing) but I don't think they are a thing anymore.
You can grow your materials anywhere you want, and you don't need plot to make packs.
Remember, this was the big picture overview. So if you don't know how to make a pack at this moment, that's ok. This was the like day one lecture to catch everyone up. There will be a second video that talks about the details about making packs, making larders, where to go, how to do it, etc.
I try to answer UA-cam comments three times a day.
Usually on breaks when making videos.
Could we get video of what to do for us COMPLETE noobs starting out day one?
I know the MSQ will cover our basic gearing needs for a while, but are there certain things we should be looking out for?
Should we just push to Max Level and enjoy that ride or are there things we should ALWAYS be doing/grinding...?
Thanks in advance!
Yes, a total new player guide is on the agenda, but to make that I need the AAU version of 6.0 on the PTS. I'm building up what I can in advance.
did they ever make changes to the crime system after the last fresh start?depending on your point of view, crime penalties were pretty harsh after the change. May be a good 101 to make since returning players from before those changes are really going to want to know how harsh they made the penalties for picking illegially planted potatoes and purpling
Do you think there Will be another official stream before release? Maybe showing cash shop and other stuff? Also can you tell me how does name reservation works? If i preorder right away can i get it instantly like window "put your name here" or is it something like early character creation?
There is supposed to be one every week from now until launch.
No name reservation doesn't work right now, they won't release that until they have a more reliable server number. Right now it is 2 per region, but since pre-order pack purchases were down all weekend I'm sure they want to see how many sales they make. If they let people roll now, it will be a pushback if they add a 3rd server.
@@ParadoxGamingNetwork Sounds reasonable. I was just watching friday stream and tradable costumes got me kinda worried ;/ Do you think they will make it to the release since selling cosmetics for gold can rl give you a huge adventage.
So the cosmetics thing is a huge one, and one I want an answer to. Without cosmetics being bound this whole house of cards comes crashing down.
@@ParadoxGamingNetwork Exacly that kinda made me hasitant if i want to buy preorder. If the cosmetics are tradeable costumes will become next apex.
what would you suggest? Archeage Unchained or Astellia online? Both games are releasing a few days off each other.
I was going to check out Astellia, but since Archeage Unchained is a thing, I'm just going to skip Astellia. If I'm going to play an import game, I'm going to play the one I already am familiar with.
Can you update the rumored to be gone fact in the video about alts and the cargo protection, is it gone?
Does it cost labor to hand in a cargo pack as well as buying it?
Off the top of my head I'm going to say yes.
That's like a 92% sure answer.
So do think fishing could make money with the dawn lake again ?
Since that is the only way to make scrolls and scrolls are needed for the traditional regrading, and people aren't sitting on like 50,000 extra fish, yes I think so.
I know you will hate this question because you have already answered it... but what are your opinions on crit dmg vs defense pen for 6.0. A lot of kr dark reapers have been using def pen so its a bit confusing. Also, i heard 6.0 changes push it in favor of def pen. I don’t want to have to deal with rerolling stats down the road :/
The 6.0 change of 10% off plate isn't enough to make def pen worth it. One tank on Kadum has 46,000 Physical Defense. Taking away 4600 from him takes away like 1.5%.
I always fighting in discord aau chat for original trade system !!! Will they add it ????
I really hope the PTS will come out soon!
I do too.
I have the storyboard of videos I want to do growing, but I can't do a lot of them until I can get on PTS.
So are trade packs going to be the only way to be profitable for noncrafters? I was into fishing back in the day. Gave it up because trading seemed more profitable despite its tedious nature. So my question is... can I fish again and turn a profit in Unchained?
And my answer is... I have no idea.
I don't have access to 6.0 so I need to have access to that in order to tell you what is going to be profitable.
However, I can tell you I won't be doing fishing content, that is a ton of work and it is for a very small selection of the population. I am trying to find a content creator who is willing to cover all things fishing so people get what they want.
So I used to make a pack and then go on a short journey with my donkey. It was relaxing and rewarding. That's still a thing right?
is very hard to find specific info. can you still put a trade pack on a clipper instead of its harpoon?
I played upon release and would like to try again at this launch. Will need to find a group to help get my feet on the ground. I used to love fishing.
There area lot of people who are recruiting. I'm not actually guild leading so I can't drag you in.
So does 50-30-10 has to be in the same region or different region? And when you fill the quota how many % does it raise?
Good questions, however, I can't really give answers due to the fact they botched the launch of AAU, I stopped playing.
They got caught doing a straight up cash grab, so I peaced out of Archeage again. I should have known not to trust Khrolan.
@@ParadoxGamingNetwork yeah. Seems like the percenrage went up, not after you turn the pack. But after someone else craft cargo from it. So if no one's doing cargo. The rate will stay the same. Btw, i can assure you that the original AA launch was much worse than this.
EDIT: nah it was my mistake. It seems like they just took the first complete batch of each 50-30-10 and then the percetage increse based on how many packs are left.
I was at both the AA Legacy and the AAU launches, they were both bad.
And yeah ithas to be the full 50/30/10 mix to raise the percentages.
Spend like 30minutes doing maths and few golds for teleport stones just to find out nothing is worth running on my server 10/10 system...
Is it possible for enemy Faction to steal Trade Packs and turn it in themselves?
You are doing great work. Pls can you put a video how to do tradepacks for beginners...
Yes, trade packing 101 is on the list. This video was to get everyone caught up to the current system.
I watched this video 5 times now, I don’t recommend people jumping into this video right away if you’re new to the game and MMO like me, focus on his other videos and look up guides for other things to get the base foundation.
I was level 5 when I saw this video and it was like you were speaking Greek to me, then at level 30, and barely understood anything and then at level 40 when I got my feet a bit wet and got tiny experience... now that I am level 50 and joined guild and family I started noticing some of the terms you are using and the island names. Like two crowns, family quest etc.
I would love to have a session with you, maybe give an idea of what a truly new player is thinking, overwhelmed and what question they might be looking for. Maybe it’ll help you make even more amazing 101 guides of what new players are struggling with.
I am still struggling and barely getting by, but slowly learning how to use folio, how terrains and mountains and the map works, how to get from one place to another, I learned how to teleport around, still don’t know many things but the thing is, I don’t know what question to ask because I don’t know the game itself.
I guess what I’m saying is I felt like a baby and needed someone to hold my hand to get better and understand the game otherwise I would be spending hours just walking around, dying and using labor to get xp back etc. I didn’t know how combos works and how to make the settings comfortable, everything is a mess and still is, searching for that perfect key binding, I want to pick a profession I’ve been all over them testing them to see what I like, but with ppl saying they are getting for fishing that put me off, I wanna make ladders but nervous of messing them up or getting killed for them. I need to get comfortable and do safe things before I start taking risk. But I don’t know where to start or what to do for steady income I’m not nit picky with labor to silver ratio and I don’t even know how the math for it works, it’s too complicated. I’ve rambled on and on sorry I just kept saying what’s on my mind. But yeah good video just don’t rush if you’re a new player like me and new to mmo. Go for more basic stuff, controls, understanding map, understand your class, region, what controlled Zone is and isn’t I remember my quest log arrow kept sending me to an enemy controlled base camp and I didn’t know that the guards will one shot me, so why did the quest send me there? Well because my dumb ass thought each island just belonged to the faction as in the players but not npc then again it was the arrow quest sending me inside their city to talk to a black smith, trust me I didn’t give up, I snuck in there and it took me 2 hours and I finished my quest and died brutally people were amazed lol 😂
Think of it like teaching a kid how to cook, gotta show them everything step by step. Otherwise we are wondering pigeons until we get beaten enough times from mistakes that lead to growth and getting better at voiding things that didn’t work out
So the intention of this video was to do a couple of things.
1) To show new people there is a lot of stuff. You don't know what you don't know.
2) The main intention of this video wasn't towards new players, but it was towards people who quit in 1.0, 2.3, 2.7, 3.0, 4.0, etc so they could see the evolution of the trade system.
Unfortunately, given the struggles that Gamigo is having with AAU right now means that I have to slow down my production so that I don't bear the brunt of the complaints. I know it sounds weird but it happened last time to.
If you ever want to talk, you can always find me on Discord either directly or on my PGN server.
Paradox Gaming Network that would be awesome! I never expected a reply and I noticed it wasn’t intended for new players, and just kept coming back to it until it clicked. And wow what a huge difference just knowing how the map works and the names of places and memorizing things just started to click.
Right now I am at a spot where I don’t know what to do anymore or where to go or what I should be doing. I think I’m all over the place trying to find a comfortable profession and how to do them from scratch.
I want to make a decent living, I don’t know what to use my farm for, or how to make it help the profession I end up going for. I wanted to do cooking but have no clue how to even get started or what work station it requires, what items I need etc. then I was leading toward the ladders and making honey but I don’t know how to get to that level of Proficiency, ultimately I don’t mind what I do and I have plenty of time to play the game. I just want something fun and relaxing, but also worth my time.
Not to mention I’ve been trolled a couple of times by people.. for example I asked advice on how to manage my inventory and warehouse and what items I should throw and keep, they recommended that I should auction my stuff for 100 gold each like resource so nobody buys them and when it expires it gets mailed to you. Now I’ve never played MMOs or anything and didn’t know about the fees or that you never get them back, so I paid a ALOT of money for it to just be deleted to save a space. Then I learned I can mail them to myself instead of auction later on. But yeah I am making small progress but I am stuff with bad gear, and not understanding if critical rate is the same as critical chance or what to go for in secondary and third. And how to get rings, earrings and neckless etc. I mean there is a lot to learn. And it’s extremely overwhelming and have no idea how to make sense of any of it.
I guess I'm too stupid or it wasn't mentioned. What was the main reasoning behind scrapping original trade pack system?
XL wanted to make a change that was more fun....
....they missed the mark.
Can you make a video tracking fast and easy gilda farm quests
Yes. When I get to PTS and can see the version of 6.0 we are getting.
With AAu coming soon, I would love to have a single video in depth guide for beginners :)
anyone know where I can find some lore about each race and faction?
There are novels out there if you read Korean.
There are a bunch of websites that were around. I haven't gone looking for them in several years.
How do we ban together to ask gamigo to change it back to the old trade system?
I used to make in Windscour, truck them to the shores in Mahadevi and then ship them to Ynestere xD
Can you explain public farms
They are on my list once I can confirm they still exist in 6.0.
I talked about them in the housing video and I got some push back from people with "Khrolan said...."
I'm fairly certain I know what Khrolan was talking about, but I want to confirm.
I'm so glad I quit before that cargo nightmare
The advantage I had with Cargo is that I understood it. In fact my original cargo video won a creator award from Trion so that was a feather in my cap early on.
Everyone else, they struggled with it for a while.
@@ParadoxGamingNetwork understanding seems to be half the battle, the other half is having the correct ratios and trying to find a time when no one is around the cargo turn in to get the cargo you want XD
@@theSAMMAN47 yeah good thing the ratio system is gone now. Cargo is just always there.
@@ParadoxGamingNetwork this is true, I'm going to be racing to get another merchant ship, not only for cargo, but sunken ships. One of my favorite things to do was the sunken ships
So if I understand:
1) Run packs to cargo buildings for gold
-Run luxury packs because they are worth more yes?
2) Use gold to buy onyx (Because everything seems to need it)
3) When you can run cargo to other continent for Onyx
Yes?
is it posible to do a riot to demand the old goodie and pretty trade system :c that would make AAU really great! :c the cargo thing and the inland packs trade system sounds like a stick in the ass
Yeah, they said they are looking at it. It won't be in place for Unchained or 6.0, but we might get it in time
I understand the removal of Gilda Stars in trade pack reward, but I hate the new limited places to turn in. Before I quit, I put 4 packs in a truck and and had a choice to pick any inland traders or even go overseas. It was a great system because players would watch the economy to go to different regions based on the price. It sounds like now is just a few places to turn in for inland? Then that means the other places will look dead after people finishes leveling because there's no reason to go there other than those who put down their house. One reason I like about MMO is the liveliness of the place, busting with players in many places.
I don't think any single person likes the new trade system.
I've yet to meet someone who is like "Oh yes, I love the Cargo system"
why are some people saying this is bad for encouraging pirating/pvp? If anything the restricted amount of places to bring and turn in a cargo pack means easier for pirates to find people running cargo. Also is cargo really expensive to get? I'm barely understanding this new system and curious why people dislike it so much.
Cargo is 26 gold each with a discount if a lot of land packs have been turned in.
You get Onyx Archeum Essence not gold for it, so the price is always varying.
And the captain's ship which ferries people back and forth is always full of alts running cargo.
Those are the reasons why people hate the system.
Curious why they would change the old system. It seems perfect tbh. Sure it had it's issues with people making roadblocks... but it had an entire world thriving off of conflict and risk/reward.
I don't hate the new system. But I can count more than a dozen times where a guildie caught someone loading up a merchant to do a big cargo run and we ransacked their attempt. Had an epic battle at sea and even though they lost the packs in the end they appreciated the battle. They were pissed. But you know what I mean too.
I don't see something like this ever happening with the current system. Nobody is ever ever ever going to stage or wait with cargo. Though I suppose it will make much more specific "shipping lanes" since the cargo comes now from just 3 spots per side and has 1 destination per continent? Maybe it will be interesting.
They thought the cargo thing would be a good idea.
They were wrong.
Paradox Gaming Network like it doesn’t create trade routes that can be pirated over the old system with people taking off from anywhere and everywhere?
I’m entirely ignorant of it I’m jus trying think of ways it might be decent.
So, i came back to archeage a couple days ago and just learned about a new trade system.. They literally took the only fun ive had in archeage out. Yolo'ing a trade pack with my clipper overseas for money. Killing a red doing the same thing. Why would anyone wanna become a pirates if there is no packs to steal.. Im really demotivated to play any futher and i just reached level 43 lol. Just seems like they took the fun out of the whole ocean based mechanics that everyone so loved
My f-ing God. This system is super convoluted. I remember when it was far easier to run packs/larders to make gold. Fishing was also so much better before they changed it from finding a certain spawn of fish to it being a random hodge-podge.
I 100% agree.
It was even worse when it came out, people were still taking packs across the ocean. You'd find them just sitting on the beach.
No more taking packs for gilda?
No,you can ''farm'' gilda from the contested zones' community center.Once per day you buy missions to kill X amount of mobs and you receive a Gilda in return. A full run is about 20-30 gilda. The mission is 1g in cost
It is 29 Gilda a day from the Contested Zones, and that will cost you 29 gold a day to do.
The current trade system is trash that's the point of this video, when Gamigo said they are gonna launch new non-p2w servers for AA & I after I heard all the changes they plan to do I was planing to play until I heard what they did to the trade system which btw everyone agree on this was PERFECT, absolutely PERFECT, there was no need to alter/change/improve it (you can't improve something that is already perfect) XL are fucking idiots imo who decide to mess with it, the original trade system was what made the game so fun to play, we had absolute freedom to do anything we want, we could craft any pack we want from any place we want & move it to any place we want on our continent or any continent, why the fuck they change something that perfect & one of the best mechanics their game had & took all the freedom & all the fun from the game? they are idiots for having done that but they can at least redeem themselves by taking everything back & do it how it was, until they do that I'm not interested to play on these new servers, the current trade system make the game not worth playing for me because it won't be fun as it was back in the first months of release, with the new trade system there is no chance to relive all those great moments moving packs around or stealing packs from other players or finding lost packs in the bottom of the sea, that's what made this game so special for me.
Is one cargo just one pack? Or are many packs equal one cargo?
1 Cargo = 1 Cargo
1 Tradepack = 1 Trade Pack.
Cargo goes over the ocean
Packs get turned in on land.
this is the last piece of the puzzle needed for me to devote my entire body to archeage unchained. i played heavy on morpheus west, (and pirate for a bit when pantsu left the server and power was doing all the content before disaster came) and i have yet to play a game that was as fun as that era was. And what made that era so fun was the brutality of the trade system, and the massive fishing raids you could run into when you went out pirating. If they really make this not p2w, and bring back the trade and fishing systems from that version of the game... i honestly think this game will see one hell of a second wind. Is there a petiton anywhere... seems like maybe gamigo is listening so lets be heard!
You will not see the old trade system back before Unchained launches. There just isn't enough time.
I really wish they would delay launch to make that happen. I think the majority of the players would want that.
Paradox Gaming Network yea thats a shame, theres really no way to know how any of it is going to work without the economy being affected by p2w, values of everything is going to be radically different. the mass amounts of real money people spent to get ahead on previous servers wont be there, so maybe these new systems will work fine since all of the economy will be in game currency (gold sellers aside, but thats any mmo). i was able to make plenty of gold on the last fresh start running packs, just could never outpace the swipers.
As a player that gonna play AAU, i felt overwhelm. Thats alot of stuff to thing. I dont event know what is cargo or trade that you talking about. But i really want to understand it.
Well, that's what this video was for. If you still have questions let me know.
id say dont try and understand the whole game at once, its one of the most elaborate mmos i ever played. Definitely watch any and all videos from this channel as they are released towards 6.0. he explains everythinf very well. but dont let them overwhelm you.
@@ParadoxGamingNetwork i watched a few time then it struck me that trade is like carrying a good from a place right ? So we need to buy a certain goods to make certain amount of money. Do they have people that will PKing you while you doing trade ? Because theres this game i played back in 2006, it was dragon oath or something like that. The game have trade runs but most of time big guild player will kill anyone that make trade run because they dont want others to get rich and stuff.
Yes, if you travel into a hostile zone you can be killed and your tradepack stolen.
@@ParadoxGamingNetwork so there will be like thief or something that keep on PKing people doing trade run ? Or its hard for us to get killed during trading ? Sorry for the question man i cant wait to play this game
Just did a cargo run, bought it for 26g got essence that I could sell for 25,5g, makes no sense I work and pay for it.
Hi Jahlon, this is a 101 video so I would suggest in the future not trying to connect current concepts with the old systems and treat these videos as if they are to an audiance of brand new players. Other then that, great video and thanks for your effort to get us information :)
True, I was going to just talk how it is now, but I probably got 50 questions from people from different stages or builds, so I did the history of it to let everyone see the evolution. Now it makes life easy for people because they know where cargo came from. Otherwise youd learn the mechanics but not really know why this system is an improvment. Trying to get 5 years of ex players caught up will take some time.
@@ParadoxGamingNetwork Personally, I'm thankful that you went over the history . I think most of the players coming to unchained are old players so this was more useful then you just explaining current mechanics. Since even if you explained current system myself and maybe others would still want a confirmation that none of the old mechanics existed. So thank you.
Skip to 6:05 to get to the info you likely came for.
Actually some people wanted that first part, which is why the video was done this way.
I’m having a hard time seeing any profit from this as it’s time consuming and gold upfront
keep it up dude i played archeage untill they put the thunderstruck tree in the cash shop (sort off) and ban most of our guild leaders coz they have good gear and more gold.. and i want to play this game again since then with no pay to win thing :D i dont know where to start keeping up with the game and find your videos very helpfull.. thanks !
I do remember Thundergate and how much it damaged the game.
It was a shame too because it was such a helpful idea to get the economy rolling, but a damaging idea because it lead to everyone having a wagon and then packs were everywhere.
It will be interesting to see how it plays out this time.
@@ParadoxGamingNetwork really love the massive pvp action when other faction find out you have 10,000 trees somewhere :D
Yes.
This is always amazing. You have like 10 people chopping and 90 protecting.
personally I think the real issue with the pack system is the % split on stolen or looted packs. Until that changes the amount of time you have to spend in the game to just break even after loosing 1 merchant ship is a bit ridiculous.
80% / 20% on normal cargo and 100 % loss on aged still makes a hard swallow if you loose those packs and OVER profitable for pirates. I will say this, if the rumor is true about taking out the draughts of forgiveness, that at least help a bit and adds some reasonable protection to running ocean stuff.
If they adjust the % to 50/50 on everything it would probably bring back a lot of interest from people who have left the game.
I have to disagree with you.
Having run thousands of packs, having stolen hundreds of packs, the 20/80 split is more than fine for normal packs. 20% of a pack covers the cost of the pack. I will agree that the 0/100 split on Larders is a kick in the balls, however, you should not be running packs that you cannot afford to lose.
Merchant ships are no longer really used to run larders because only cargo goes across the ocean, and if you are dropping 600 gold to load up a merchant ship full of cargo, then you know you are rolling the dice.
As far as removing the droughts of protection, this isn't going to matter since pirates are their own nation and they don't get crime points from stealing from you. The only thing that change helps is with your own faction stealing from you, but the problem is they'll just block and blow up the boat and take what packs they can forcing you to purple and attack back.
The 50/50 idea would be too off balanced as you'd still make a profit for someone else running your packs and using their labor to turn in.
I can't believe it, they literally changed the trade pack system the month AFTER I quit? This new system is bleh, but as a person who only does it for gold grinding on the in-land, I guess its not so bad.
True. There is a segment of the population who this new system works for.
Not returning until the old pack system is back...
@@ParadoxGamingNetwork They did it backk then to make life harder for "carebears" like me whol liked just hauling packs from A to B and enjoying tending to their garden and buying nice things. Doing mostly PvE.
Well we were paying players. Until we felt unwanted. Because PvP PvP PVP, you're not a gamer until you are into murdering other gamers.
They listened to the loud part of their community. Not always the best idea.
If you're going todo a beginner's 101 series you need to always explain the simple things to us new players. The basics before you jump into common knowledge. Like "what is trading" " how do get into trading". All of your videos leave out the beginner information.
The purpose of this video was a very broad and general overview, but also to catch up players from a several year span.
Also 101 doesn't necessarily indicate no basic knowledge, that's what 090/099 courses are for. 101 can reasonably presume you have some basic understanding.
Now, yes, I do break a lot of stuff down to a lower level, mainly on the webpage, and I'm breaking it down even more in the next round of 101, but at the same time, if I break everything down to the lowest level, I'll never get anything done.
@@ParadoxGamingNetwork I love your videos. But I'm so new to the game. Maybe you can make a basics video breaking down the basics of the game when someone first starts playing. So many new players coming to unchained. Like the economy. Crafting, housing, boats leveling, dungeons, type of pvp etc.
"Packs stay on your continent"" - saved a new player some time/stress there mate - thanks!
Glad that worked for you.
I've seen people taking packs across the ocean thinking it was the old school way, only to get there and find the buyer "isn't interested in that item"
@@ParadoxGamingNetwork Your vids are damn good man! Bit tough to follow at times but i get you have a challenge to find a middle ground between brand new bros and AA players coming to AA:U. Successfully ran my first pack but half way there a fellow Nuian told me : "Dude, If you drop your pack next to your donkey it mounts the donkey and you dont get a speed debuff - pro tip!!" Being new, i thought "plausible," so i did, he then picked up my pack and ran off!!!! When i /w what was happening this is my first run and did i just get robbed? He replied "im teaching you that AA is alot of fun but can be brutal, as you're new to AA here's you pack back man." Learned a lesson and had an adventure! Social interaction is a bit rare in this game i find when you have no guild. So was fun, in a weird way. Some good guys on Belstrom server. His original intentions were rough but still he did teach me something -knowledge valuable....52 hope to hit 55 this week - Thanks again.
A quick comment: you call these videos 101 but for a complete beginner they are impossible to understand. You should explain as if people have no ideas what is a pack a cargo or even how trade works in AAU.
Sure, on some of them I realize I need to double back and bring it down.
On this one however, this one was specifically a 50,000 foot big picture overview.
I will be going back and doing a deep dive into the trade pack system.
The new system sound stupid as fuck. Why would they even change this? Running trade packs was the most unique and fun system I’ve ever seen in any MMORPG.
It promoted PvE, PvP, teamwork, travel, and farming.
The original trade pack system encouraged pirating and fighting. Now this new system sucks and makes AA boring as HELL.
The original system was fine, why did they mess with it. Now trade is boring and pirating non existent. Pirates were frustrating but it did add to the game.
100% agree, which is why everyone from KR to NA/EU wants to get it changed.
I don't want to know how it used to be, just tell me how it is now. All that gibber gabber about systems that no longer exist is pointless. Get to it. That said then, this video basically starts at 6:50.
You may not have wanted to know how it was. But people who played at launch needed to know how it changed.
Returning player. Just want to say this new system is garbage. Why would they intentionally make the game worse? The original system was perfect. Wish I knew all this before I purchased unchained
jesus christ lol how are people going to make money lol hahahahaha they gotta reduce the gold sinks in the game like regrading cost and shit or its going to be reallly realllllly bad lol
I have no idea.
That's the problem with jumping straight to 6.0 without a build up through the patches.
6.0 is a great place to be if you've played for 5 years, but to just start on 6.0 is going to brutal.
can you please stop calling it charcoal. For us new players it is confusing.
The places that I called it charcoal in the beginning of the video, it was still charcoal.
The back half of the video should all be references to Onyx archeum essence, unless I missed one. I actually took the video down to fix the mistakes. Did I miss another one?
No i think your ok. You 100% got your point across. Just everyone in the community still calls it charcoal. For us noobs we look in game and are like ???? I would not pull the video for that. Your good. Just saying for new vids
Yeah its just an annoyance to me that I missed 2 of them after re-cutting to video to take about the other ones.
If there was the old trade system and no bullshit harim gear then I would actually play unchained. But the game is just to boring as is now
The Hiram Gear was a necessary step. If you don't have a way to get gear for your time, effort and energy then you just lose your player base.
That said, I think the concept is good, but they missed the mark on execution.
Thank you for your dedication to making these videos man. Mad respect
That being said bring back the old trade system!!
I appreciate that.
It feels like I'm teaching again. Doing research, making slide shows, presenting on Twitch.
Its almost like .... having a job.
HybridPanda panda wtf u doing here I swear I commented on ur video about archeage got nothing mate
