How do we calculate missing stock

closing balance = opening balance + purchases - returns - cost price of stock sold
closing balance = 600+4 210 - 210 - 3 600
closing balance = 1 000 (this is supposed to be the value of closing stock
however, the actual amount of closing stock given is 970 units.
therefore, there is a deficit of 30 units (stock stolen)
