This applies better now than then, but dude really said “you don’t need the most expensive gear” in a video with a Roland drum kit 😂 The TD-9 really still sounds pretty decent today for a midrange e-kit.
You just keep practicing by hearing the original with drums, and then trying it using a drum-less cover of the song, which you should be able to easily find on UA-cam. Hope I helped :)

Hey, which snare, kick and crash choices are you using in the td-9? If you can please share that then I can probably work out how to tune them well myself, but I love your sound so am really interested in trying to copy it in my td-9. Great playing/module programming!
hey dude have you found out how to record yet? i have ha td-9 too. Searched on youtube and most drummers record with an audio device, which I don't really want....I don't have the budget to buy another piece of hardware.
Steven Turner Actually the TD-9 was replaced by the TD-15 which just recently got replaced by the new TD-25. The TD-11 you speak of more-so replaced the TD-4. :)
+Steven Turner Not true. I have a great inexpensive kit I've been playing for a couple years now with no problems. Still plays as good as the first day I got it. Snare, 4 toms, 3 cymbals, and a kick. 600 bucks brand new.
much too anxious at times and a few wrong moves here n there but overall close and pretty good..just relax instead of worrying about rocking too hard and it would be great

That's not a dinky drum set, it's an 11KV! One of the better electronic drum sets.
but it's still smaller than trad sized drums. I know because I play a T-12 with a TD-20 brain.

+ThrasH like you would on an acoustic drum, just make sure that the trigger can take two beaters, the kd-9 is perfect

Its only like $1300. Not that much for an electric kit. The only good cheap electric drum kits are the ones that retail from 1000-2000 bucks.
The replacement for the td9 (the td11) has a starting price of 1049.00. Pretty good price.

The TD-9 and TD-11 have very similar looking modules :) The TD-11 replaced the TD-9 in the current line-up of Roland products :)
