Lures With Bling - Adding extra effect to you lures

- Adding glitter or flakes to you lure blanks really gives them a lot of "bling". Something that goes far beyond what you can do with paint alone. I this video you will see how easy it is to add this effect to your lures, step by step, and you will see some simple patterns to get the most out of your effort.
Materials used is:
- Glitter (lots of options on this online)
- 5 min epoxy, just you own favourite brand
- Coating epoxy. www.easycompos...
😯 WOOOOOAH they're definitely Blingy, the silver and copper one's have got to be my favourite too. You can rest assure that the fish in the lake's, river's and sea haven't come across anything like those swimming around! They've got to be WINNER'S in my opinion 👍😷👍

only just subbed to your channel a week ago and i am binge watching your videos and trying to soak it all in because i am about to kick off in lure making ( was going to a few years ago but it got put on the back burner ,now my interest is sparked again) , soft plastics first then later onto hard body lures .thank you very much for all the methodology and knowledge you are sharing it will save me a lot of trial and error . i am finding it a little difficult to source some things in australia but i will get what i need eventually ,thanks again .

Nice to see a new video from you again😜 have also done few covered entirely with glitter, no paint at all😳 tested 1st one of those in october (big one, 17,5cm & 145g). In 1hour 3 nice pikes (94, 90 & 84cm).

Hi, Jergen. It's GREAT to see you back on UA-cam! As a longtime subscriber and SplishSplash fan, I grew dependent on your regularly posting new videos, which always taught me SOMETHING I didn't know about lure-making. (Using casting sand is just one of them.)
I know that making these "tutorials" takes a lot of time and effort, so I completely understand that you have tapered off since the earlly days of the channel. I just want you to know how much I appreciate each and every one of your videos. Best, Chris
I means a lot to me with messages like this Chris, and I can tell you that I have no intention of making less videos. However sometimes life throw obstacles in you way, making priorities shift. Hopefully I will be able to spend a bit more time making videos now.
Not sure how the notifications in youtube works. I don't get notifications of all I think.
Some flakes are made og metal, it won't work with those. And even with plastic, I'm not sure if yuou wil end up damaging the epoxy. But you can try :D

Great video! I love your content and I already learned a lot. I have a general question. since you introduced the possibility of 3D printing. Doesn't it make sense to print masters instead of using wood, or even print all the lures instead of using silicon molds with epoxy? What is cheaper, epoxy or filament material for the printer?
Hi Seppeq. I makes a lot of sense to print your masters. I do that with most of my lures now. That said, it does not make sense for me to print the lures themselves. First of all because it takes too long. Just to make the lurebody nice and smooth and easy to paint would be a big job. At least with the quality of my 3D printer. Normally I am able to make approx 3 casts a hour with one mold, and I often have 2 molds at a time. So i can quickly produce a nice batch. That would take a bit more time on the printer. On the other hand the printer can run while you sleep. So it might just be a matter of what you like the most

Great, thanks. Just curious to know if you did try to use the same method for glow in the dark results. I have glow in the dark powder for jigs, bindind under high temperature, but didn’t try to bind it with epoxy. Will that work? Thanks.
I think it will work, but maybe not optimally. Powerpaint inludes som "plastic" that melts, and it would propably be better to have the pure "glow in the dark powder"

It is just ethanol which most people have around or easy access to

You can wipe them off in alcohol if they are dusty

I am curious if there i a way to accurately copy a lure's spoon, any ideas Mr. Splish Splash? I was hoping to try this out with a gypsum mold and pour in epoxy resin, just don't know what would be a good solution no to bind to one another too much. The spoon in question is from the vobler: MANNS
MAGNUM 30+.
Very difficult spoon to replicate in my opinion, if you would just get a thicker slab of pleksi glass, or bind two of them together (one idea maybe).
Hi Jergen, i make some woden crank and jerkbaits but finding decent epoxy in europe has not been very easy, at least of the brand i see most luremakers use. Can you recommend any epoxy and where i could buy it in europe? thank you very much
Hi Filipe. I have used Glass Cast 3 from Easycomposites in UK for many years now, and find it better than any of the american brands. After Brexit, they made a shop within EU, so its still easy to get hold on
