There is not a Style on Music that Ludwig can't cover. I had a Red Sparkle Club Date some 25+ Years ago. The One and Only Drum Company that does it All "LUDWIG"!!! 🥁🥁🥁
@ the atlas looks weird to me i guess.. its ok for mounting in the bass drum to make it seemless. But for tom and floor tom, the uniformity of triad make it look more sleek.. I guess if they are going for atlas in tom, also do it in floor tom to make it uniform.. but i do still prefer triad in tom and floor tom as it is placed on the proper posistion
I’m from the era where Ludwig was like buying a shitty American car that was cool but had quality issues and was poorly designed. Good for them for enduring. There are days I wish I would have kept my ‘69 Supraphonic! 😂
Fortunately, Jim Catalano slayed that quality control issue. I've gigged with a Classic Maple kit for 10 years with ZERO problems and the Atlas Pro kick pedal allows me to play pretty well, even with a bum right ankle. The purveyor of "the largest drum retailer in the world" even says that the Classic Maple shells are second to none and who else offers the drummer a choice of three bearing edges to choose from... especially at a reasonable price point?
@ apparently I had some of the last blue olive badge Classics from Chicago so I feel fortunate to be part of that great tradition… it felt like hand to hand combat on those things sometimes but I was in heaven !
I wonder who or why positioned that chrome tom in such a high and awkward position.... Almost looks as the old awful stretch back a decade or two or three where Ludwig catalog photos of sets were placed in ridiculous positions that were unrelatable to drummers.. As if a non musician photographer set them up.... Cringey and embarrassing days...

Ludwig makes great American drums
They make some good Taiwanese drums too.
I like their tom mounts now .. hope this becomes the standard ...
Do you not like the Atlas mounts?
