- Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have never won the Women's FA Cup before, and to be honest, I wasn't expecting such a one-sided scoreline to decide such a massive occasion. Manchester United completely played Spurs off the park and outrightly deserved to be crowned 2024 Women's FA Cup champions. So how did they do it? How did they take Tottenham apart and write their name into FA Cup folklore?

Thank you so much! I could analyse Miedema yeah, I do have a whole lot of other videos in the works before I get to that though. I think I might wait till she actually signs somewhere and then possibly make a video then. Lots of options haha. Currently working on a player profile analysis though!

my favorite stat to show how young manchester united is is that lauren james was their first ever goalscorer for both the championship and wsl 😭
and honestly, part of me wonders whether vilahamn did this just slightly on purpose...he has this very lofty idea of their "plan" or "project" (slightly ironic for me to be saying that as a chelsea fan) and clearly did not think that going to the fa cup final was part of this year's plan and winning it would certainly not have been on track 🤣 but that's just my conspiracies (i don't actually think that dw no manager would ever do that ofc)
and a question--have you noticed other teams (i.e. spurs being shut out by chelsea, arsenal, city in the league, etc.) doing the same as united did and very purposefully not letting spurs players turn in the midfield? their attack was VERY dull against a not-quite-amazing chelsea last wednesday but i just assumed that was fa cup blues lol
I think Spurs did really well to reach the final and perhaps the occasion got to them? The first 30-40 minutes of the game was really cagey and they looked quite nervous, when Tooney's goal went in just before half time I think that really deflated them.
In regards to your question, I notice the teams in the top half doing it. The bottom half teams generally focus on themselves and how they want to play, but they don't usually focus on stopping the opposition.
