Thanks for sharing. This was helpful because I just bought a pair of ZLX G2 15". Right off the bat I had them under tremendous pressure supporting our live jazz band scenarios. I saw how the internal 'limiter' probably saved my butt. I'm going to study them more to see how to best deploy them in my band use case. I plan to a couple of subs to go with them and just keep adding on. I love them.

True, ZLX are fire man, they are best speakers I've worked with and would recommend them to every Sound Engineer or Dj.

How's the bass hold up? 🤔 with out the subwoofer.. I'm thinking about buying two of them...would the two speakers be good enough for a wedding? Without subwoofers?

Hey I know you! Haha what's up man. Been thinking about snagging the model up from this. The 1200 watt ones. I'd like to get the 1500 watt line but they're too pricey rn

    Great video!
I want to use the speaker as a multipurpose, to play and sing in small venues, just voice and guitar and also the option of backing tracks and my voice, as well as being able to use it as an electric guitar amplifier to play with my band, pass the guitar through a boss gt-1 and direct to the speaker, which one would serve me better? Should I spend the extra on the 15? or it is not worth the expense, really the shows are for a maximum of 50 people
No sub in mind for the moment, just the speaker by itself

12" should be enough. As long as you don't have bass or drums.

Hi, our band just purchased a pair of these speakers for live performances as mains in combo with two Mackie subwoofers. The sound was very crisp and clear, replacing the older Mackie 12 speakers. My question is If we want it a bit louder, running the same basically volume level to the mains from our Yamaha mixer, it seems we have the option of increasing the EV mains total volume ouput via the top dial (to a max of 10 dB) or likely better leave it at zero db and increase the EV ZLX12 input signal dial past halfway point (as we had it set)? It was a quick setup and with a crowd already gathered so we didn't have time to adjust anything much. I had it in LIVE mode not sure if on POLE and I hadn't set the sub to 80 HZ (likely was set to default of OFF) but I will next time --thanks to your video. Please advise on what your best advice would be for a good starting point at setup. Thanks!

Hello Ryan D ! I just read your post and I am very curious what is your opinion regarding ZLX 12P after 2 years of usage. Are you still using this 2 loudspeakers ? Did you encountered issues with them during live performance? The reason I am asking is because I want to buy 2 of ZLX 12P an I am doing necessary researches. Thank you in advance! 🙂

Hi .. I got these speakers recently I've only used them twice but I've noticed they clip easily when I sing live. I have the volume at 0db and also input level at 12oclock.. mixer levels just normal too

This is 15 kg. Yamaha MSR 400 is 22kg. Is Yamaha MSR400 made with better material? Which one do you think is better?

Would just one of these speakers work for a solo tribute act , vocals and backing tracks, would it be bassy enough for a medium size venue?

Quick question: how hot is the back amp during the performance? I notice in mine speakers, that the amp is very hot, after 1+ hour of use. I can barely touch them. Do you have the same issue?

I have that too with mine

Played up to 6 hours without any issue, certainly heats up but not to the point where it can damage anything or injure anyone. But it is normal for audio equipment that pumps the power equivalent of an electric kettle to heat up. As long as it does not burn, smell or melt cables etc.

Hi Mate.. thanks for the brief explanation.. however I just need to know about sub frequency option. Do we need to adjust sub frequency even though i am using subwoofer? Thanks

    • @djjoeyd5416
      @djjoeyd5416 5 років тому +4

The "sub option" filters out the bass going to the speaker. you don't have to use it but it is a good common practice when using a sub so it can concentrate on mids and highs making your setup more efficient.

    Hi Joy
Can you pls help me in setting of DB and Volume of the these speakers.. which should be above.. Volume or DB?
I do volume gain at 12o’clock and DB at 4-5? It gives feed back to the microphone.. should it be at low volume and DB at 10?
    Thanks

I'm looking in pairing this speaker with an Electro-Voice EKX-15SP 15" Powered Subwoofer, only for house parties, around 1000sqft of space, family functions and such. Do you think it would sound loud and deep enough ?

    • @Code_mov
