Продолжение не видела но могу предполагать что это муж и его отец присоединились. Значение верёвки не знаю точно, цвет думаю не играет роли, я и белые видела. Возможно он ее так символично держит и передаёт в попечение мужу. Простите за грамматику, русский не первый мой язык.
