Great interview Corbin. We haven't seen enough of Grissom to make an observation. I think there is room for him and Campbell. They could trade Yoshida, make Devers dh so Campbell could play 3rd. Will be fun to watch spring training and see the impact of the young players fir 2025. Have a great day and thanks for the best content. Appreciate Yall!!
This kid will have an impact on the Sox. Been scouting him for a bit and he's got the goods. Would love to see Campbell at SS and Grissom at 2B in 2025. BTW Corbin just let the interview flow. There's no need to rush it. You left a lot of meat on the bone there.
Grissom stinks, average defender at best, below average power and on base skills, in an organization that ALREADY has Mayer, Campbell, Meidroth waiting and Story here for the next 2 seasons.
I saw what Vaughn Grissom did in Atlanta. He was a force with the bat and on the basepaths. He has the ability to take the extra base, which is why he set the team record for doubles in a season at the AAA level in Gwinnett. That's the same system where Acuna, Albies and Riley came up! Grissom hits to all fields and of course he's able to hit .300 in the big leagues. During the last week or so, he's had a couple of three-for-four games and in the field, the tutelage of Grissom by Ron Washington is evident. He'll be a good hitter and a top-notch second baseman for a dozen years! He can hit for power and he's a great guy to be around in the clubhouse. I'm predicting a "Comeback Player of the Year" type return for Vaughn Grissom.
My guess is they will keep Grissom. He has a huge upside. In my mind the biggest question is who can they trade to get front line pitching. I don't think masa or Abreau would do it. As I've said the off season is going to fascinating. Good job with the interview always enjoy hearing from the young guys 👍
Grissom is very talented and still young, to give up on him is ridiculous. If he's healthy going into next season, he could lock down 2B for quite some time. I'm still excited about his potential and can't wait to see him next season.
We need to trade lefty bats power bats for more contact bats. It’s so frustrating to have 18k+ a game. We need to spend some of our prospect capital to get two starters and reinforce our pen. We are losing a lot of key parts. We need to decide what way we want to go because if we don’t add we are going to be worse next season since our big three starters need some more time to be stretched out
Here is to a healthy and successful 2025 season for Von Grissom ! I agree there's a lot of talent there. Over an extended period of time the redsox win the Grissom trade. :) He's a right handed bat and will help a lot next season.
Of course I’d love to see Vaughn succeed here, but what’s painfully obvious is that there’s not a lot of room for a guy like him. You look at the potential team in 25 and 26, and Hamilton, Romy, Campbell, Valdez, Rafaela, even Wong and Gasper are here alongside Grissom. He’s got a lot of potential, and he showed some of it in ATL. I want to see Vaughn succeed, and not all of these guys are guaranteed to be good, but someone’s gonna get moved, and unfortunately that might be him.
This poor kid is only like 22 yrs old. I hope he is healthy in the spring and can force himself into the lineup one way or another. He will have lots of competition, good luck to him.
Doesn't seem like RSN is down on Grissom for his stats. Most just noticed that he wasn't healthy the entire season and that is infuriating when they traded away a guy who was never healthy to get him and then Sale has a Cy Young caliber season.
That's what happens when you get the 10th-12th guy on your list for GM. The Sox have too many middle infielders and no pitching anywhere in the minors. What do they do? Trade your only notable starter for a passed over middle infielder. I just read an article yesterday about how they're overhauling their baseball operations AGAIN! A lot of respected scouts are being let go and some of the ones that are being retained are being asked to take a pay cut! What kind of small market team crap is this? And we're the fools that keep paying to watch this garbage
He needs to realize you still need to get the ball fast out of the glove at second base to turn the double plays properly… Or if you’re ranging far to your right, because some of the players are super fast. I hope him, Roman Anthony, and Kristian Campbell are on the team next year. However, that probably means some of my favorite players are not on this team such as Rob Refsnyder.
Didn't Boston though, give up on Sale? They traded their only L/H starting pitcher who also had the highest ceiling of the staff. I was boggled by it then and I am even more so now. I think you HAVE to separate the fact that he cost them Sale and judge him as you suggest, but what his possible ceiling is. All of a sudden, the OF and middle infield is loaded and once again, our staff is meh. I hope Breslow learned something from this.
Let’s assume that somehow the Red Sox swing the trade of Yoshida for Castillo with Seattle. Do you think Oakland would go for a trade of Abreau and Grissom for Brent Rooker? You have Campbell for 2nd, you have Anthony to backfill Abreau. Rooker becomes that right hand power bat between Devers and Casas and can play some left field.
Good interview... I think it's interesting with him being called up. He needs to make a big impact from now through the end of the year otherwise I think Campbell might steal that starting position away from him
That game last night had to be one of the worst games ever! 20 ks all this team does is k night after night! Extra innings all you need is 1 run and how many were left on base??? Damn!!
23 games is too small a sample size. Grissom was never right while he was in the majors. I had written Vaughn Grissom off in August but I have since changed my mind. Both Grissom and Campbell both can make the team but Yoshida has to go and O'Neil too and probably Abreau. Grissom just got called up so hopefully, they will let him play and see what he can do. With Devers being shut down it will give another young player a shot. Sogard will probably play 3rd. I have seen enough of Valdez and he is not the answer. I am excited for the 2025 season with all the young players the sox have. After that, I think for the next several years they will have 3 a year. Hopefully they can have a few stud pitchers.
I just don't see any room for him on this team in 2025. You got a crowded team most likely in 2025 and need a steady lineup, enough of the merry go round
Seriously, Corbin? Please spare us. Talking about this guy at this low point of this season just reminds us of the ineptitude of the front office. The question: will the Red Sox ever win another World Series? It won’t be because of this guy. I hope I am wrong, but seriously Corbin? This topic of this guy is like touching the third rail. Let him surprise us, then you can tell us, “I told you so.”
I hope you are right about Grissom in 2025. As for 2024, we were fleeced by Atlanta that was not much different, from the Babe Ruth to the Yankees trade in 1920.

You brought it up so….for me it’s not Grissom himself …he was hurt …it was the trade itself ..why trade Chris sale if you going to pay almost his entire salary !!!? Insult to injury why trade him for all things a middle infielder, when your farm system is loaded with them? Every time I see The guy who hit .150 before he got hurt I think about Chris Sale. You keep hammering Corbin. Hamstring , excuses who cares . Just another overated , underperforming waste of time.
Wow! That's harsh! Hamstring injuries are tough to rehab and to give up on Grissom so soon is flat ridiculous. I guarantee Chris Sale would not have pitched this well for Boston had he remained here and Grissom is still young and controlled for many years. Give him a shot and see what he does when fully healthy......
Please don’t try to sell us on Vaughn Grissom. He’s not durable sat out a whole season. and he young and breaks down already We have enough players we don’t need to waste our time on him. It was a bad deal move on.
I feel like a proud big brother watching you these 1:1 interviews. Keep up the grind sir!

Has anyone ever chosen Ted Williams?
I recall that Tristan Casas chose Williams over "Big Papi" ...
Hope you are right about Grissom, Corbin. See where Cora has decided to shut down Devers for rest of season. Could Jansen be next?
Devers is the face of the future. Jansen has less than a week left in Boston. Why coddle him?

I hope rafeala or story stays at short. Mayers back problems will never go away
@mw35ild
RAF strikes out way to much for me. Like him , but Mayer will be the guy.
Devers has had a good year defensively. Devers is now hurt and should have taken time to heal a month or two ago.
I wouldn't give ip on him now. still young, a lot of potential.
