There is a doubt ... your point is ok , when pressure from loco destroyed to the level of "0," corresponding reduction at last vehicle will be "0". But the pressure at last vehicle reduced at "0" from the last vehicle, the loco gauge will not show 0"since during normal operation loco compressor is in working when the continuity test is performed

I clarified it , Continuity test is ferformed only when driver moves Automatic Brake Valve (A9) in HANDLE OFF/NEUTRAL position.If there is no HANDLE OFF/NEUTRAL position in A9 valve. Then there is a Isolating Cock(L&T Cock) between C2 relay valve and brake pipe .Close it then do Continuity test.
In normal practice whenever BP pressure is dropped from guard van to zero then engine will not show zero because compressor of loco feeds the system continuously. But loco pilot will sense that there is a huge pressure drop at system through the gauge.
