Woo hoo!!!! It’s alive and the monkey is off your back! I enjoy your rambles, there’s some good stories and lessons learned. Thank you as always my friend for taking the time to put out the videos. I’d be surprised if your new 2110 doesn’t get better Milage than you think. My 2054 with the big heads, cam and compression with 44’s, I’m getting 20-24mpg around town and easy highway cruising.
Hey VW I just put duel 44,s on my 1929cc, haven't started it up yet but could ya tell me what jets you are running in yours?? I'm in Indiana altitude...
That's a slick oil setup. For years I used an old oil pump with a hand crank welded onto the drive gear, and pumped it in through the full flow fitting before firing the engine. It was messy, but worked.
Hey Greg, thank you for another great video. They are always enjoyable. You can babble all you want, it's kind of what makes your channel nice. It's like we were standing around in your garage with you. As always looking forward to the next one. Cheers Mick
So Much intelligent procedures that you’re doing. Great to see you getting it done. Thanks so much for sharing all of this with us . Thanks Buddy and stay safe and healthy for more VeeDub’n. BigW:-)
Hey don’t apologize for the babble! I love it! I feel like you know me and it makes the viewer comfortable! I especially like your old stories man! Tell more stories! Glad the break in worked out great for ya!!!!
Awesome it’s running! I just got my 1955cc running after 4 years of building it. I kept pushing off building it because I was so nervous (first ground up engine build) but it runs great! Now I’m ready to find another bug to build!
Beautiful dog. Brindle is unique. Going to take your advise on the stock cam for my 1776 DP build. Stock heads and going to go with a 34 pict 3 carb in the time being. Will eventually upgrade to dual carbs. Thanks for videos.
👍🏻👍🏻 Well looks n sounds like the labor is done EZ, now it's time to reap yer reword,s !! Put that dude in something and go enjoy!!! Thx a bunch for the video,s buddy ! Keep m coming 👍🏻✌🏻🇺🇸💪🏻
I get the same dry cough during seasons. I found putting on the c-19 mask makes it stop because the humidity you build from your own lungs. At least it’s good for something!
I know exactly what you mean by rumours and rubbish parts by brand. So many people on the net blanket bag out Empi which tells me these people haven't been doing a lot engine building. I try to remind people that Empi bought out and still sell sine Bugpack parts which are very good. Parts like Bugpack conrods, Bugpack cranks etc. There's other now Empi branded parts the similar too. But I do agree that there's some Empi parts I stay away from too because of regular experience with those parts. We've also seen Big name branded parts that aren't as flash under extreme situations too so people need to listen to experienced engine builders who have all those years of experience.
Hi EZ. Hope your well. I have just fitted a new cam into my 1600 twin port. Everything is standard, so no performance parts. I intend to use a high zinc break in oil, then change after for usual stuff. Do I need to ‘burn’ the camshaft in at loads of revs for 20 mins, or can I just get away with running the engine back in the van carefully for so many miles, without doing the burn? All the best.👍🏾🇬🇧
Yes you should break in the cam. The new cam has a coating on it and the camshaft supplier usually provides a special lube that should be smeared all over the cam lobes during installation. You don't have to rev it to the moon during break in but you for sure don't want it to idle for any length of time. The Burn as you refer to it is creating enough heat to work harden the cam and lifter surface and get a good pattern match. During the break in is also the time to look for possible oil leaks and problems. Just after break in run you want to drain all that expensive oil and Zinc additive out while the engine is still hot and everything is stirred up in suspension. Pull the filter screen out and you will probably find little peace's of engine sealer stuck around it. You want all that junk out of there. Let the engine cool down where you can comfortably touch it with the palm of your hand anywhere on the engine. You don't have to leave it sit overnight like many folks do. Refill with fresh 10-30 oil of your choice and ad some more Zinc additive or use whatever fresh break in oil you had, Pop the valve covers and rotate your engine while performing a valve clearance check .006 is fine. Look things over. Wiggle your rocker arms side to side. Make sure the springs and retainers look straight. Don't baby the engine just because it's new. Drive it like you will drive it normally. Take it on the highway. Don't drive at a constant speed for long periods. Change the oil again after a couple tanks of gas. Recheck the valve clearance and if things are good at that point and you are good with your maintenance that engine should give you lots of smiles and miles. Don't over think it. Just be observant.
I'm about to jump in and build a 1904 74x90.5 with the fk7 cam I have a 32x36 vw Weber carb and intake not sure if I should buy dual Weber carbs 🤔 also will be running the bigger vualves
No need to run bigger valves unless your a weekend warrior. Stock heads will work find. I lost a valve guide because so much valve guide support was removed for flow. You need HD single springs and retainers and keepers. !.25 ratio rockers will make an improvement. Get the geometry right. You can use stock aluminum pushrods. and need to use shims under the stands. I did it. It will work. You may just consider a Engel 100 and not look back. Great torque for a street engine.. The Fk7 will work with 1.!! (stock) or 1.25 (slightly (noticeable) or 1.4 (Dangerous) unless you get the geometry perfect. ( I lost a valve guide) using a 044 40X35 Head. $$$$$$$$ Truthfully. I wouldn't bother with a 74 stroke again. Go with a 78.8 with 90.5 B pistons and don't look back. Goes together easy with stock length pushrods. At the same price. but you will need the stocker case or do more cleansing on you old one. Why spend money on a old case that is worn out. New case, New crank, Standard bearings = long life and peace of mind.
EZ!!! I just finished this size engine. 1:25 rockers 42x37.5 heads 125cam with dual 48ida do you think 200 air is enough with 60 idles on F11 tubes? 🙏 God bless
@@TheEZGZ Ive match ported them. They also been fly cut to 48cc chamber putting it at 9.5:1 compression. Im running what I have for carburation which is a Weber 38dg it still runs good but. I'm wanting to go duals 40s or a single 44idf. it revs fasts and I'm not seeing any fuel problems do to the 38dg. But it could use and idf.
The dual 40's would run far smoother than the 44IDF. If what you have works I would stick with it. I guess I'm going to have to get off the couch and make another Weber video. So many people are asking Weber questions since spring is here. Stay tuned.

Hi Gary yes I'm really happy the ezgz is back I also definitely learned a new lesson today

The timing method that you use has saved me so much time in the past. So much easier than using a VOM or test light. Thanks for that bit of wisdom.
Great to hear! :-)
Nice to have a dog around in the workshop there to keep you company when working on your engines
You got that right!

Results is what count. Thumb up friend
Like your stories and wisdom regarding engines and etc. Remiss me of my grandpa!
Best wishes from Sweden
Many Thanks, Call your grandpa and tell him something nice.
whats better than hanging with your lil buddie and working on vw's!Thanks for sharing.

Hey ez congratulations. The build sounds healthy. Cant wait to see more of the baja
I was tickled to hear it run. Congratulations. You have my mind running, thinking of ways to make up a pre-lube pump.
You should
So glad to hear it running. U are the Man!! Enjoy your videos
More to come!
You're the man, EZGZ. Much love from Philly.

I’ll be looking forward to a future Video of the Seat of the Pants Power test.
Me too! :-)
Thanks for another great video
Always enjoy listening and learning.
I wish I could install a Honda 3.5 in a sandrail.
You can. I think Kennedy Engineering makes the adapter. It's the ECU that becomes a nightmare
Don't apologise for the babble, it is informative and entertaining.

Thanks for watching!
How is the chineese alternator doing? Great build again bud, and cant wait to see more of it and hear what the seat to the pens meter will say.
So far, so good.... :-)

Give it a try. If you need to fatten it up go with 180 air
congrats EZ the engine sounds great! will it go in the blue beetle?
Not sure yet
like your reasoning...
I appreciate that. Thanks for the comment and support
What's your thoughts on a Erason racing cam 467liftx287duration in a 1835cc with a nice set of heads 40x35.5 valves?
Great if you have Port on Port dual 40 mm carbs. Like 40mm Webers or 36 Dellorto carbs

Do you know det ring size on 90,5mm piston? 1,5x2x4 or 2x2x4?
measure it! Some older 90.5 pistons were 2mm
Most new pistons are 1.5mm
Sounds like BONGCHITIS to me..... 😂
Just talking makes me start coughing???
I could listen to your babble for hours.
20:40 Buy something already built can bite you too.
Thats true but if you can drive it you have a good idea going in
