Great songs plus consistent great shows and tours -- that is they key to their success - Eagles are one of the all time greatest live performing bands ever, they play so well, sing so well and play long shows - RIP Glenn still saddened by your passing, taken way before his time.

Glenn was a handsome older guy even in his later years. He always seemed to have an easygoing nature to him, whereas Henley comes off much more "all business-like".
Agreed about the handsome part even for an older guy ,easy going maybe in later years but for all the friction in The Eagles Glenn seemed to be the common denominator Glenn/Bernie,Glenn/Randy Glenn/Don Felder hell even Glenn/The Eagles first record producer Glynn Johns but thats not a slight on Glenn maybe thats how it needed to be Glenn was the driving force behind the success of The Eagles

He brought Bernie in and wanted the band to do more rock when Bernie wanted more country(Bernie poured a beer on glenn's head because glenn was in love w their new rock sound). Re: Randy- How could Randy not want to sing Take It To The Limit anymore? Because he didn't want to hit the high notes because of stage fright? A band is a business, not a club- the show just must go on. Re: Glynn that wasn't the sound Glenn wanted. It's just that Glenn was indeed an extremely driven man who knew exactly what Eagles were capable of. I miss his presence and I wish we all had more time with him.
I think its hard for these rock stars artists after they have hit their stardom their prak creativity. They are still great talents great musicians but it seems a fact that the muse favours the young. It doesnt even seem to matter if they are living wild lives. So its wonderful that the Eagles came back down to earth and stayed true to their music and their fans. They are not going to write another Hotel California and music itself is always evolving away to new young talent. Its really sad that Glen didnt have his sunset years. The Eagles are up there with the Beach Boys, the Stones and the Beatles, right on the top tier.
Eagles still and always sounded the same when other people can't play or sing anymore the Eagles do concerts that are twice as long as 70s .Zeppilin Phil Collins rod stewart, and more can't do their music anymore because they are old but so are the eagles,paul mccartney also as good as he always was and the rollig stones are all 80 now and sound better than when they were 20 Kid Rock is thinking of quiting at 50 says he can't handle it anymore.
Glen was such an intelligent guy...every answer he gives is just rich with his experiences...I sure miss him!!!
