I've just got some Predator 25k motors from your neck of the woods (only place to go for them) Dave :) I am not sure what difference these new translucent green bell ones make? Yes, they are really good products and they out perform the standard Thunderslot motors which makes them worthwhile.

FYI about the Auto World set (you probably already know), those cars look like that because they are modeled after the original 70s cars from AFX/Aurora, so hence the reason why they look like that. I do agree though, they could certainly make better ones these days, but those retro look a likes sell well.

Scalextric 1964 Mustang coupes ,probably more next year I'd guess, theres the 64 Tour de France cars to do red, then a couple of these ran in 65 in the British saloon car championship in red, later one was resprayed baby blue, there's also at least one Monte Carlo rally car that ran in white. I'd imagine the design team have got these in hand.
When I was racing the angle winder chassis was the latest and greatest, why are so many new cars using the then 😊outdated inline design? Seems to me there has not been a lot of advancement in chassis design after all these years.
These building are getting better n better as time goes on.
