  • Good mate and subscriber Howard invited me to hit a body of water i had not yet fished. Lake Moogerah is a well established dam located in south-east Queensland. Although it was hard to locate fish early on we found some active schools of smaller sized fish which proved to be a lot of fun.

Outdoor & Fishing Living Mission head straight out from the boat ramp near the point. If you have a sounder you will find like an island underwater where the ground raises back up again. A lot of bass hang around that

Any tips on catching bass? especially at Lake Moogerah and surrounds.

Hey dude, at moogerah dude we normally look for schooled bass over points and riverbeds. We find more yellows hug the edge than bass as this dam has boney bream as a main food source for the bass. Once you find a school mainly long casts over the school with a slow retrieve and pauses seems to work well. In the morning and afternoon of when you have good cloud cover the bass can also be caught roaming around the sticks

All good dude. If your fishing off the bank look for points etc as these points will continue into the water and the fish tend to hang on the edges of these points as they drop back into the deeper channels
