Glad I found your video, thanks for making it. Your comments about the speed test were helpful re upper 600mbps being about the max it will achieve. I'm getting that, so good to know. And you answered another question which was why the speedtest tool shows only high 300s is likely due to low cpu power! Couple of notes for you; antenna set to Feed Only 7dbi is for local AP use (without the dish attached) whereas the 23dbi setting is for full strength long distance bridge point to point. Advanced settings; SG interval is Short Guard interval which Enabled can help reduce affects of radio interference and reflection from enclosed spaces, walls, glass, etc by setting a short time delay to ignore transmission "echoes". If you're operating in open space where reflections or neighbouring interference is unlikely then it may offer an improvement to disable SGI. Finally, always have WiFi Multimedia (WMM) enabled to ensure full 866.7mbps can be achieved, otherwise you'll revert to 802.11g with max of 54mbps! I thought it unnecessary then forgot about it and spent ages scratching my head why everything had gone super slow, lol.
Great input. Thank you :) I'm not sure about WMM being the reason for poor speeds but I would need to look at my setup to check what it was set to. (Currently unplugged and I don't have much spare time).
@@freename the WMM and SGI info was really a general note for other folks reading these comments, I wasn't saying it was an issue with your setup, but definitely was for me, and repeatedly proved by measuring speeds with/without WMM.
Hi, thank you for your demonstration, I have a cpe605 device in access point mode, but I can see the ssid in some devices and some are not showing the ssid what the exact issue is??
In the case of using it in the UK and probably Europe it operates in "DFS" frequencies for outdoor use only. Almost all normal consumer devices won't operate on those frequencies. Does yours show what frequency/channel it's currently on and is it within the DFS frequencies for your region? (These devices are not really designed to have normal clients connected. They are more designed to be point to point or point to multi point links between the same model of device).
Hello, I have a CPE710 and I used it as an AP Router. Is it capable of the "Whitelisting"? I have neighbours who connected even though I have hidden my SSID. I don't know how they do it.
The CPE710, at least in the UK, doesn't operate on frequencies clients can use in the UK.. so in effect computers and mobile devices are unable to connect to the CPE710 as a client or see it as an access point to connect to. This might be different in other countries where the frequencies do overlap. However there's no way someone should be able to connect unless they know your password. If you are running these as a bridge without a password then that's a silly idea.
Hi. Will I have the possibility with this antenna to catch free WiFi which is situated about 100-200m from me? Will it catch so far signal or it works only between 2 same antennas?
It can be a client but if you are in the UK the regional settings prevent use in the "indoor" frequencies. So you won't be able to tune to or select all residential 5GHz WiFi which are on indoor (non DFS) frequencies. If you are in another country the rules may be different and you may be able to connect to a "normal" router. However they are optimised for being in a pair rather than on their own.
@@freename thank you. I'm in UK and looking for a good Internet as mobile data signal is weak, but for fibre need a 12/24 months contract (however I'm planning to stay here about 6 months). So that's why though maybe I'll be able to catch free WiFi 😁
I have trouble with the negotiated rate being only about 86mbs it has been as high as 650mbps when set it up about 9 months ago, the web speed is over 600 from the router at the access point side. I note on the stations tab the IP address is blank, the signal noise(dbm) says -62/-57,-95/-95 I don't know if that's good or bad. Any idea why the ip address is blank there but mac address of client is listed? SNR for client shows 28-35ish, CCQ 100 it is a sandstorm type day and about 50 degrees C if that makes a difference but connection is only about 300m away between skyscrapers in busy area
IP address will be blank if you have them in bridge mode. Not sure what the problem could be. My ones have one end fallen over and been pointing at the ground and still managed a link rate of 97mbps over 600m through a line of trees. Check the alignment and that nobody has put something in the way of it. Maybe use the signal analyser to see if there's interference or someone else has setup a link on the same radio frequency.
@@freename Couldn't find the issue maybe it's related to the old DIR 890-L router it's wired through which seems to be having its own issues. I saw the receiver dish picks up 32 wifi networks on survey, 12 using same 5700 (140) channel as mine but if I manually select from the channel/frequency dropdown on Wireless tab and save it doesn't alter it on the Status tab, maybe it refers to a group, but made no difference on speed anyway. I did change the antenna settings which were both on "feed only -7db" which apparently reduces the signal and fires backwards when remove the backplate to send wifi indoors (see tplink business forum) which did get it up to 400mbps negotiated rate briefly but it dropped back to stable 144 since. Anyway thanks for your suggestions and vid, maybe its the Dubai heat issue too.
Sorry. I don't understand the question. If you mean can you get to the admin interface from a phone. If you are on the LAN yes. If your Pharos has a public IP on its WAN and you enable remote management then yes.

Hi all, for this cpe710 in access point mode, how many clients can be connected to it (other cpe for example cpe510)? Thanks

Why cannot I log in to 192.168.0.254?
Have you set an IP in that range as static on your network card when plugging into the Pharos?
@@freename me too, i already setup the IP
