    A lot of people use the fact that it's made alongside Toyota to put the car down. But in reality, that's the best part about it... You get a car that competes with the likes of S-Class, 7-Series, and the A8, but with the insane build quality and reliability of a Toyota. When are people going to learn to swallow their pride and agree that Lexus has done it right, the most luxurious quality a car can have is reliability and longevity... If you were a wealthy business man with a tight schedule, it's not very convenient to have your car visiting the service center so often. I find comfort in knowing the Lexus will start every time, all the time, and will always get me to my destination... And that's a luxurious feeling.

      I very much agree. The greatest luxury is peace of mind, IMHO. Others may feel differently, but I do not wish to devote much time to thinking about repair bills, dealership loaners, and when the warranty expires. Life is short and too valuable to devote to such hassle, at least on a daily driver. Just my $0.02. :)

    • @Shintsu2
      @Shintsu2 5 років тому +8

      Where you're not understanding, is actually wealthy people when looking at cars like these usually lease them. So all those maintenance woes on a 100k mile S-class or 7-series are moot since the initial buyer will buy based on features and gadgets, second buyer will possibly get CPO and then the 3rd buyer is the one eating all the reliability costs. Lexus are nice, but they are still not on the level of the top German luxury cars. If you Lexus fanboys would get off your high horse for a minute, you would agree that the Germans make the cooler cars but the Lexus is usually "pretty decent" and more reliable. All true, but most rich people don't buy a car and drive it for 10 years.
      The fact you are looking at it like it's a long term car for a wealthy person just goes to show you aren't one of them and don't know how the people who drive this market of executive cars work. That kind of thinking is usually done by the person looking at used ones with 100k miles and comparing to other 100k mile used ones. If you couldn't afford the car new, you shouldn't buy it used. Which is why you rarely see the old S-class and 7-series anymore.
      FWIW, I'm not condoning any of this as sensible. This is how it works in the real world, and it's why Lexus won't ever take over from the Germans until they have enough prestige and wow factor to match.

      Shintsu2 that’s bullshit.

      @@Shintsu2 The only thing the Germans is doing is cramming a lot of UN-proven technology on their cars. The Germans, in essence, use their clients as test dummies. Toyota spends just as much or even more on research and development (new technologies) as the Germans, as well as American and Korean, but they(Toyota) don't mass produce it until said technology is efficient. The Germans perfect new innovations (customer complaints) as time go by.

    I own this car- it’s an amazing car. Everything in the car is the best in its class, from the wheel to the infotainment system (which is much better than other lexus’s). I will say the one thing I cannot stand about this car is the gas pedal, and how the car accelerates. Let’s say you stop at a stop sign. Tap the pedal to speed up slowly, nothing happens. Do some weird muscle memory manoeuvre where you gun it then barely press the pedal? Ah perfect. The throttle also isn’t very responsive in any driving mode besides sport s+, so if you need to quickly accelerate out of a situation, you’re toast because you won’t go anywhere. If you floor it, it will take about 2 seconds for the car to actually start going fast because of how the auto gearbox is set up I think. I’m being completely honest here, my Toyota Highlander accelerates better from 0. That being said everything else about this car in amazing and I highly recommend it.
