The song and MV are darker than it seems. According to Jimin its about escaping reality to deal with your wounds. Hence the two Jimins - white Jimin and Denim Jimin. Denim Jimin want to party but White Jimin is still stuck in the mud... Its supposed to be inspired by a movie by the same name. The movie does not have a happy ending. My own reading on this is that Jimin is having a conversation with himself as he grapple with Depression and long standing Anxiety.
Legit reminds me of Blinding Lights by The Weeknd. The song slaps, but the video and lyrics are deeper than the surface.

As he "grappled" with past tense, back in 2020 when we ALL were grappling with big time depression and anxieties. Its not darker than it seems. Its exactly where we all were when Covid19 hit the world! Everybody was struggling during that year of pain and frustrations!!!! Don't get it twisted. This is now, that was then!

This is totally The Weeknd. Love it, it fits Jimin and his voice so much more. Even the lyrics are Weeknd-ish, talkin' bout keeping him drenched, having a taste, and riding all night, haha.
But when you said it was going to be like Weekend kinda vibe, you were right. It is Jimin but still reminds me a little bit of the Weekend .

I don't doubt his struggle with the life he leads and I always wish him to be in a good place, but for me, this listener I would rather see the side that isn't depressing. Of course I can relate as I deal with depression myself. All the more to pull the side of the song out that does not depress me
