After a last minute cancellation to our experience in 2021, the day finally arrived for us to go on our hot air balloon ride! It couldn't have been a more perfect experience and I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to do this (a real bucket list activity ticked off). Can I ask is there seats inside the basket or is it a squat you have to get Into at the end? Also are there any step ladders available to climb in or only the foot hole method
@@veritysaunders6105 so there are seats inside the basket but whilst you are in the air you have to stand up because of space. When you land, you have to sit down and hold on to a handlebar.
In terms of getting in and out it is just the foot holes available which I found easy enough. Other people seemed to get in ok too and those who were struggling just got pushed or pulled in by others 😂
@@taniaalexis6919 OK thankyou for your reply. I'm taking my grandma up in one next month and hoping she can manage getting in and standing! Also I'm a little nervous was hoping to sit and hide until its finished haha.
@@veritysaunders6105 I was nervous at first but once the balloon was up it felt like I was in a different world. It felt weightless which made it less scary to stand up. I’m sure you will be fine and it will be such an amazing experience- worth facing your fears for 😊

Just found your video by chance. It really is fantastic 👍…. Me and my wife … both 50, are so tempted to try a balloon ride, just so nervous!!!! Our three daughters, (all about your age) are pushing us to do it!! Just wondering how long you are in the air for? Many thanks, Gary and Claire🙂
Hi both, we were in the air for just over an hour. I was scared at the start but once you take off it is fine! Definitely something to do at least once in your life. Imagine looking back 20 years from now and regretting not doing it- listen to your daughters 😊
Thank you, just considering whether to choose a Hot Air balloon ride as a birthday present for my husband, will have to decide quickly ;) (I am scared of heights but I think I will need to overcome it to go with him, aaaahh!)
I was quite scared at first too, even though I don’t usually mind heights. But once the balloon was up, everyone got used to it quite quickly. And the basket is much bigger than you expect it to be!

Tbh I’m not sure 🤔 would recommend contacting virgin to ask. But I don’t see why not as long as you covered the cost of all the spaces. Would be v expensive but amazing for a proposal etc!!
How much did you pay,it was weekend?
This was a gift so I’m not entirely sure but I don’t think the price differs between the week and weekend. If you check the Virgin Experience Days website then you will be able to see the prices but you can also get discounts on them at different times of year/ from places like Groupon I think 😊
Hi how long did the experience last?
We were in the air for roughly an hour but you also help unpack and repack the balloon as well as having champagne etc afterwards

Oooh how exciting! You should have beautiful weather for it ☀️ I think altogether it was around three hours for everything but the time flew by (excuse the pun 😂)

Is it scary? How many professionals come up there with you? My wife has booked this for us but I’m quite nervous about it
I wasn’t nervous until it was time to get in the basket 😂 but once it took off I felt fine within the first 20 seconds. You almost feel weightless! We had two professionals come up with us and one stayed on the ground and followed the balloon in a truck so it could meet us where we landed. I felt very safe in their hands so I’m sure you will be fine! It’s definitely something you will never forget 😊
