The problem most men fall in to is that they do this....but then lack any self respect. When a guy who has no self respect praises a woman endlessly, she looks at the respect he has for himself be it physically or mentally and see that such words are so easily given to anyone that's not himself. If you love and respect yourself those words will have thousands of time more worth since you're willing to put yourself aside for the woman you're wooing, and she will (hopefully) pick up on that
@@MrToddino As a woman, I get uncomfortable when anyone, let alone my fiance, puts themselves aside for me. I encourage people to do the opposite. Put yourself first, always, unless you have kids. If you weren't taught self worth and respect as a kid (I was taught that I was a burden), you have to slowly learn those aspects in adulthood. While it can be done alone, it's best to have help/guidance. My fiance and I both suffer from low self esteem due to our traumatic childhoods, but we help pick each other up. We're learning that we ARE worth a damn and that we're worth love, all because we slowly tear down the walls we've built all our lives. BuNegi Chan Agreed, they were always meant to be a cautionary tale about abuse: Harlequin leaves him for better people too and takes the power back at times.
BuNegi Chan Yeah, absolutely. Although it can be fun to see their dynamic and watch them slowly drown in their own psychosis, there is no genuine love there. From either side. Most times Harley is just obsessed with Joker, and Joker only sees Harley as some kind of pawn to be used to his favor. Yeah, Suicide Squad tried to rectify this by having Joker truly care for her, but even in that scenario, it still felt a little forced to me. I wasn't convinced. The movie still painted them as mentally insane, and to me, that just means that at any moment, one or the other is going to snap and drive the other away.
Lego Batman is the only thing where I got a sense of Joker and Harley actually having a genuine bond with one another. And that one's a very deliberate departure from a lot of the usual characters, because comedy potential, so in a sense it doesn't even count. Whenever something that's halfway taking itself seriously (e.g. Suicide Squad) tries to depict their relationship as actual love, I honestly just get creeped out by that. It doesn't work, because of course it doesn't work, because that's not what they have together. Like, at all. People love them as characters for what they are, stop trying to change them into what they aren't!
What an oddly heartwarming list... I legit cried. Hearing about all the different ways these couples express their love and somehow make it work; there was something so kindred to that. I could see how human all them are, and how similar we all are, despite the differences. Your arguments for each are perfect. Thank you for this, Critic.
Couldn't have picked a better couple than GOmez and Morticia. Their love, their passion is so great and heartwarming, I'm so glad you put them in the video. Definitely the best couple to me :')
I've always found Monarch and Dr. Girlfriend to be one of the most genuine couples in television, even though they're both supervillain cartoon characters.
@@brentcatherman8762 Joker and Harley aren't a couple..... it's just Joker beating Harley for hours while dumb girls say "Aww I wanna be treated like that!"
The one thing that I thought kind of ruined it was the discovery that they have an "open marriage", which really just made the relationship look like Dr. Girlfriend cucking The Monarch, really a downer on their whole arc.
@@AnotherRandomChild Ehm... That sounds a bit like victim blaming right there. The main point was that Harley was madly in love with Joker, and basically had developed a sort of Stockholm Syndrome, so she accepted all the abuse from him, while he merely saw her as just another henchmen he could use. That's why most of the more recent depictions show her as having left the Joker, cuz she finally realized how she he really was to her. Calling her stupid, and saying that she wants to be treated like that, is MAJORLY missing the point here.
I think Jessica and Roger rabbit are soooooo cute. Instead of the Harley Quinn Joker crap my peers want I want a Jessica Roger full of love and support relationship
[Repost] You're the smart one. Find your Roger Rabbit. And make sure your friends are as cool. Otherwise, they'll talk trash about your Roger and relationship.
It took me a second to get the joke, but that's even better lol it's amazing how much you can make a simple joke a thousand times funnier depending on how you say it.
I've always adored the relationship between Gomez and Morticia. They're so deeply and madly in love with each other, which will never change, as apparent to anyone who simply observes them interacting. Even though their clan is considered odd by "normal" society, I always found them refreshing and ideal. They're obviously not human, so they can harm each other without worrying it'll actually do permanent damage. There's so much love in that family. I've always felt they should be what other families emulate. Not the weird, violent stuff, of course. XD Just the undying affection and love for each other. The world would be a much better place if we all acted like they do. :) Also, poor Martin. His unrequited love will forever be just that. ;^; On that note, I heard Doug is married. Is that true or did a misunderstand? I hope he is, honestly. From what I've seen, he's a good catch. If he hasn't found his special lady, I hope he does soon. :)
@@BELLA-mf6hb If they were human, there's no way they could electrocute each other without them dying. Fester survived an explosion! I'm sure they harm each other in other ways, but they never get a scratch. I've always believed them to be some kind of otherworldly creatures. I mean, look at Thing! It's a sentient hand! That's not normal by any standards.
19:57 I actually think Rumpelstiltskin did Shrek a favor with his time altering plot, I felt that part when Shrek upset Fiona that the words he said we're just too far over the line and felt it be very hard if impossible to fix it, so in the end when the timeline snaps back to his roar he can stop a Big mistake before it happens.
Nazo- kage Hell yeah, saying you wish things were back before you met you're would be an instant break up, and when Rumple gave him exactly what he asked for he realized how wrong he was. It was a perfect. Let's hope Shrek 5 isn't a cop out sell out.
My favourite couple on this list is definitely Gomez and Morticia Addams. I love them for one reason and ONE reason only they love each other so much whether it's in public or private they don't care they love each other to the core and that's what I love about them
I was confused as to the nature of the date of release on this until I read the description. Good ol' description, always giving me useful information.
I like it that Doug uses his characters in Nostalgia Critic when in a love relationship to be strange and awkward like in this list. Keep on entertaining us for everyone in Channel Awesome.
Yes Batman and Catwoman are literally strange bc they are literally both opposite and similar which sounds like it doesn't make sense but it does , they are my #1 DC couple
I have always thought the Addams Family were either a vampire family, half demon or were just immortal servants of Satan who decided to spend their retirement on earth with their offspring. Either way, love doesn't do Gomez and Morticia justice. They are absolutely obsessed with each. They are beyond soul mates.
THANK YOU for mentioning Bound. No one ever seems to acknowledge it. As a lesbian it was one of the very first depictions of two women in love i ever saw (not that there's much to choose from), and it has an important place in my heart
Well, there's a lot more to choose from NOW than there was THEN!! There are so many female couples from TV & film now that there are many I have never seen and more that I've never even heard of, plus I have videos of the storylines of maybe 50 of my fave couples. I've even made videos about some of them on my YT channel. We can actually be choosy now in what we watch. I find out about new couples all the time. Of course, YT and the internet have expanded our options tremendously by us access to shows & couples from all over the world AND gives those couples a worldwide audience & international fans. In fact, Argentina is the country that always, to the best of my knowledge, gives their female couples a happy ending. I can think of 5 stories from Argentina off the top of my head!
I wish Fry & Leela from Futurama got at least an honourable mention in this, I mean cmon he's a pizza delivery boy from the 21st century (give or take a few seconds) and she's a one eyed spaceship pilot from the 31st century.
I subscribe to the theory that Jessica is actually asexual. She knows she's sexy and she uses it to her advantage, but you're more or less born with your appearance. Just because you are sexy doesn't mean you want sex. Ah IDK, it just seems like an interesting idea to me.
I read something recently about how Marilyn Monroe, a sex icon in her day, may have been asexual. In a letter she wrote something along the lines of sex being overrated, like she never understood how people got a thrill from it.
@@Em_Elizabeth I don’t think that makes her asexual per se. I am definitely not asexual but I have to agree. It’s way overrated. Like. It’s ok. But not this super amazing important thing. If she was then that’s sad that she had to basically pretend because people didn’t understand back then and her career pretty much relied on guys wanting her.
That would be so cool! I'm ace and usually ace people in TV aren't the hot or sexy ones. But that's not how it always works. It would make so much sense.
MetallicaRules Actually...No. Back then he was heavily involved with Dragonball Z Abrdiged. In season 1 he was the Narrator, and in season 2 he was Freezer.
Victoria and Ivan from RED and RED 2 are pretty great. They fight for different sides, but don't let it come between their relationship. They don't try to change the other and just enjoying the times when they can be together.
rugbyfan05 Yeah. That relationship built up very well in Red but we saw very little of them in the 2nd movie. Both love each other just enough to live on without each other as well.
Al and Peggy Bundy should have an honorable mention at least. They bicker, make fun of each other, get into constant arguments over raising their kids, money going down the drain, but they still love each other despite their differences and their clashes. Even when Al and Peggy have numerous chances to be with another person, they still wind up with each other in the end. You can't have one without the other.
I think a good honorable mention would be Hellboy and Liz from the Guillermo del Toro films. I always liked the dynamic of their relationship and could somewhat relate to it on a personal level due to similar emotional experiences in life. Sometimes the paranormal kind of romance in movies seems more pure and realistic than that of the actual "romance" movies... And aside from that, quite a few of the other couples on this list had a profound effect on me while I was growing up...
I was sure Murrell and Eustace from courage the cowardly dog were going to make the list. Then I realized that he was doing the *BEST* Strangest couples😁
what about vegeta and bulma, their relationship is very strange, vegeta is a hot headed alien and bulma is a scientist, they are almost polar opposites, guess it could be that bulma is always there for him, and she scares her friends sometimes
Daniel B AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! .......(Breathes)..... Sorry.... I just.... I hate One More-FLIP THAT HORRENDOUS GARBAGE OF A BOOK!!!!!!!!!!! On the bright side, I'm totally for Batman marrying Catwoman and hope it sticks.
Odd to have Homer and Marge, Dan and Roseanne and Hal and Lois but not the couple they ripped off....Al and Peggy Bundy. Definitely a strange couple but they do love each other. Or what about Archie and Edith Bunker?
The Brain and Monsieur Mallah. I mean it is the strangest couple in fiction, no contest. But they really love each other, which is even more rare among villains.
Fantastic list. Everything is pretty well placed and I agree with number one. Have you ever noticed that they always got REALLY good lighting on Morticia in the Adams Family movies?
Me, before watching the video: I'm expecting Jessica and Roger, Morticia and Gomez, and Al and Peggy. Me, after watching the video: Two out of three. Fuck yeah.
Jacob Johnson Kind of have to agree with his #1. Never really thought about it but Morticia and Gomez are quite possibly the greatest couple that happens to be strange. Though their relationship and the quality of the series to begin with is better with the original instead of the movies made long after the old cast.
Cluv22 Yes, definitely. They talk a bunch of smack to each other. But they stick up for each other when someone else talks about them or they fight them.
This is such a lovely, good spirited video. I agree with every couple on this list and everything Critic had to say about them. This was nice, I really enjoyed it ❤🙏🌟
You forgot Herman and Lily Munster from "The Munsters". This couple has been married for at least 100 years, given that they celebrated that particular anniversary in the series - most couples have a hard time making it to 10, or 20, let alone 100 years. (Granted, most people don't even live that long, but I wouldn't be too surprised if there was that couple that married at 20, and still care for each other at 120, especially given how medical technology has come during the past 100 years, to say nothing about the future.) Then there's the fact that they are a rather loving and caring family, especially given the way that they care for their "hideously deformed" niece Marilyn Munster. To be fair, I haven't watched a lot of it, but like I said - 100 years means that a lot of hard work had to go into making things work.
Ummm... yeah... Roger makes her laugh... o_o In the book Roger wished from genie that Jessica would love him. Genie had no problem at making it true. The book goes to different route though but the set up is still there.

People love them as characters for what they are, stop trying to change them into what they aren't!
you ruined the end for me
You read the comments before watching the video? That's always risking spoilers. Better idea in future to always watch the video first.
Gomez + Morticia =Ultimate Relationship Goals. Find that weirdness that goes with yours.
lol u must be my twin i agree lol
Another thing regarding Roger/Jessica Rabbit - the toons are jealous of *Jessica* for landing a guy like Roger, or at least Betty Boop is.
ironballs16 it’s more like less jealous and more emphatic with Jessica
I've always found Monarch and Dr. Girlfriend to be one of the most genuine couples in television, even though they're both supervillain cartoon characters.
There's absolutely nothing super about the Monarch or Dr. Girlfriend. They are more akin to Dr. Evil than say Dr. Doom.
They're definitely a better couple than the Joker and Harley Quinn.
11:36 "You deployed my wings with your ass."
Now there's a quote with a million and one uses.
“You might trip on those wings”. Awww. I really love the monarch and dr mrs the monarch together. They really do care abt each other a lot. ❤️❤️
I always loved the way Fiona giggled when Shrek dips her for a kiss. It's so cute😊❤
"You deployed my wings with your ass"
*DIES LAUGHING*
That whole show is hilarious, the first Christmas episode was so funny my laughter was like a seizure
I totally cracked up when I heard that!
Also, poor Martin. His unrequited love will forever be just that. ;^;
On that note, I heard Doug is married. Is that true or did a misunderstand? I hope he is, honestly. From what I've seen, he's a good catch. If he hasn't found his special lady, I hope he does soon. :)
Last I heard, yes. He is married.
Me too
I think the Adams Family are regular people instead of witches or vampires it makes the morbid gags funnier
The Addams Family are human. The Munsters on the other hand, are a mix of classic Hollywood monsters.
When he got to #2 I was sratching my head about what couple is #1 if that is #2. Then it all made sense. #1 best weirdly perfect couple.
Cosmo and Wanda are very similar to Homer and Marge.
Cosmo is surprisingly less irresponsible
I like Marge, she is the best worst mom ever
I know right she doesn't discipline her kids and often gives them what they want. 😂😂😂😂
Cosmo would never strangle his kid he has no neck.
Of course the first few seasons... I agree but that must be clear
Gomez is my idol. I already have my Morticia.
aw thats so cute😊😊😊😊
I HAD my Morticia.... But we're better apart than together,
19:57 I actually think Rumpelstiltskin did Shrek a favor with his time altering plot, I felt that part when Shrek upset Fiona that the words he said we're just too far over the line and felt it be very hard if impossible to fix it, so in the end when the timeline snaps back to his roar he can stop a Big mistake before it happens.
I love them for one reason and ONE reason only they love each other so much whether it's in public or private they don't care they love each other to the core and that's what I love about them
Shrek 2 is definitely my favorite of that franchise.
Best Villain. Best Chemistry.
They should have stopped making the movies after the second one came out
Also, about Gomez and Morticia, they're not just an amazing couple, they're great parents as well. They're loving and always so supportive.
Gomez and Morticia are legit couple goals
Little Kuribo and NC are the best couple
Vidori Paradnight Totally XD
I'd ship it
*sails away*
My new otp
Ship it like fedEx
The Dr.Girlfriend an The Monarch was something i didn't expect brought up. loved that show
"you deployed my wings with your ass"
classic
I was confused as to the nature of the date of release on this until I read the description.
Good ol' description, always giving me useful information.
I like it that Doug uses his characters in Nostalgia Critic when in a love relationship to be strange and awkward like in this list. Keep on entertaining us for everyone in Channel Awesome.
Yes Batman and Catwoman are literally strange bc they are literally both opposite and similar which sounds like it doesn't make sense but it does , they are my #1 DC couple
weirdest... beginning... ever...
Jesus
You mean sexiest
But did you stay for the ending..?
...it's not *that* weird.
Optimistic Otaku rule 34
Layne Miller Yeah and Monica Rial? Although that would be a interesting guest appearance and I only hear her in anime.
Morticia and Gomez are relationship goals.
im so happy dreamworks were so tolerant and made fionna bi-shrekshual
Jo Lori Boooooo!
Mmmm yes... boo.
boiiiiiiiiiiii
God fucking dammit
Gomez and Morticia are perfect for each other, in there own gothic way!
I wouldn't really say Roseanne wears the pants in her and Dan's relationship. I kind of see them as equals.
Al and Peggy Bundy even better
JoJo Warrior Perhaps
I have always thought the Addams Family were either a vampire family, half demon or were just immortal servants of Satan who decided to spend their retirement on earth with their offspring. Either way, love doesn't do Gomez and Morticia justice. They are absolutely obsessed with each. They are beyond soul mates.
The Addams Family is the best!!!
They weren't really a couple.
TheCreepyReader I don't know *spoiler alert* they did end up growing old together
As friends, obviously. :p
TheCreepyReader which makes them A COUPLE....OF FRIENDS! A FROUPLE IF YOU WILL!
A Slavic Potato
They got married in the last episode. After they had clearly been a couple for at least the last couple of seasons.
I subscribe to the theory that Jessica is actually asexual. She knows she's sexy and she uses it to her advantage, but you're more or less born with your appearance. Just because you are sexy doesn't mean you want sex.
Ah IDK, it just seems like an interesting idea to me.
Except that asexual people usually don't realize they're sexy 😂
It would make so much sense.
cool little kuriboh
BLACOZ
"Go back to Team Four Star!"
More like "Get back to making YGOTAS."
MetallicaRules
Actually...No.
Back then he was heavily involved with Dragonball Z Abrdiged.
In season 1 he was the Narrator, and in season 2 he was Freezer.
And he was also making YGOTAS back in 2014.
Belisarius The Historian Actually...No.
He is the person who invented the concept of abridging anime and only helped TFS after creating YGOTAS
"Woo her. Admire her. Make her feel like she's the most sublime creature on Earth." ~ Gomez Addams, in Addams Family Values
Victoria and Ivan from RED and RED 2 are pretty great. They fight for different sides, but don't let it come between their relationship. They don't try to change the other and just enjoying the times when they can be together.
rugbyfan05
Yeah. That relationship built up very well in Red but we saw very little of them in the 2nd movie. Both love each other just enough to live on without each other as well.
Yes!!!! I loved these two as well. Ivan was the most suave and sweet to his lil bunny....😍😍😍😍
It also made sense to me because she's fire, and he's fireproof. Physically and mentally, they are perfect for each other.
Gomez and Morticia 10/10
do top 11 weirdest but best shipping
my number would be
nostgia critic x little kuribo
Your number is "nostgia critic x little kuribo"? that's a weird phone number to have.
Not to mention it's way too many digits.
I would ship ur mom x being fat
Jorge Hernandez *little kuriboh
Mimikyu778 What an original joke that is
No Kermit and Miss Piggy?
**points to the Kermit abuse**
I was sure Murrell and Eustace from courage the cowardly dog were going to make the list.
Then I realized that he was doing the *BEST* Strangest couples😁
XD
what about vegeta and bulma, their relationship is very strange, vegeta is a hot headed alien and bulma is a scientist, they are almost polar opposites, guess it could be that bulma is always there for him, and she scares her friends sometimes
Too bad the anime never delved into their actual relationship, like they did with Chi Chi and Goku in Dragonball.
Omg nostalgia critic mentioned Malcolm in the middle, I loved that show. please do a top 11 episodes of the show
Caleb Daly He actually mentioned it on his top of favorite's TV shows.
MrTrosiness I know... it'd just be nice to see what episodes of the show are his favorites
Caleb Daly I love Malcom in the middle!
Tamera Farly me too
Caleb Daly that show was the greatest
Spoiler alert for Friends:
How about Chandler and Monica’s relationship. That was pretty weird
0:15
I NEED AN ADULT
Christian I am an adult.
Jeffrey Weber no. No you are not. Well neither in my mind and forever I will remain.
, both are adult so.... time for adult times
Lets face it. There are times we want to be in a relationship that #1 has.
Who else is so happy about Selina and Bruce getting married in DC rebirth?
I'm not, because its not going to take very long for DC to ruin it like everything else!
Daniel B AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
.......(Breathes).....
Sorry.... I just.... I hate One More-FLIP THAT HORRENDOUS GARBAGE OF A BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!
On the bright side, I'm totally for Batman marrying Catwoman and hope it sticks.
she left him in the alter.
Odd to have Homer and Marge, Dan and Roseanne and Hal and Lois but not the couple they ripped off....Al and Peggy Bundy. Definitely a strange couple but they do love each other. Or what about Archie and Edith Bunker?
I don't think Dan and Roseanne ripped off anybody
to me the wierdest couple is Wall-E and Eve because well...you know they're robots
prome57 did you see the movie?
Caiden Wallace um what are you talking about?
Yeah..... really cute though
Well, Wall-e is an older robot model, boxy-looking, and works with trash and Eve is sleek and newer-looking.
@@Em_Elizabeth can't believe you responded something I said 3 years ago lmao, but yeah, still pretty weird
ahhh! I knew morticia and gomez would be on here!
The Brain and Monsieur Mallah. I mean it is the strangest couple in fiction, no contest. But they really love each other, which is even more rare among villains.
Where on earth are Harold and Maud???? Those two work off each other SO well!
Fantastic list. Everything is pretty well placed and I agree with number one. Have you ever noticed that they always got REALLY good lighting on Morticia in the Adams Family movies?
I noticed! She always looks amazing in those movies. Then again, her makeup was also very well done so it's probably a combination of the two.
Every lighting is dramatic lighting when she's around. It's the little details.
The lighting is dramatic because she is the light of Gomez’s life. So to speak. :P
Me, before watching the video: I'm expecting Jessica and Roger, Morticia and Gomez, and Al and Peggy.
Me, after watching the video: Two out of three. Fuck yeah.
Should have been combined with the tie between rosanne and malcom in the middle. Perfect fit.
Doug is really having a "videos starting with me lying on a hotel bed at a convention" theme going on with this week's uploads.
Love how the section for Marge and Homer's relationship has no clips from recent seasons anywhere.
my favorite couple R2D2 & C3P0
Jacob Johnson
Kind of have to agree with his #1. Never really thought about it but Morticia and Gomez are quite possibly the greatest couple that happens to be strange. Though their relationship and the quality of the series to begin with is better with the original instead of the movies made long after the old cast.
My favorite couple is me and the ceiling.
ye same
Jacob Johnson I think we all ship that
did you know the original actors actually hated each other
Dan and Roseanne are amazing, they are my couple goals completely. I love that show and I can't wait for it to come back.
*Gomez:* "How long has it been since we waltzed?"
*Morticia:* "Oh, Gomez... hours."
True love is not just 'seeing' the value in another person that no one else sees but being captivated by that value.
Al and Peggy Bundy deserve an honorable mention.
Cluv22 Yes, definitely. They talk a bunch of smack to each other. But they stick up for each other when someone else talks about them or they fight them.
jordan mitchell EXACTLY! Like "I can talk about you, but cant nobody ELSE talk about you..." you know?
Gomez and Morticia are the BEST couple ever. I love them so much. They're great parents, great lovers, great partners in life.
Appa X Momo forever.
The fak
This is such a lovely, good spirited video. I agree with every couple on this list and everything Critic had to say about them. This was nice, I really enjoyed it ❤🙏🌟
Do the top 10 father figures in films for fathers day
Honorary #12: Eliza and the Asset, the Shape of Water
Catalina and Randy from My Name is Earl
I thought I was the only person that watched that show
kyle calvert Love that show!
dibs!
Yeah haha
Boiii, I wish they still had another season to see what would happened in the relationship between Catalina and Randy tbh.
I think that Shrek and Donkey make a better couple.
The clown that comments on whatever he wants.
That's beastiality………….
Edsel Aguilar even hotter
Edsel Aguilar it is Shrexy.
Shrek is love, Shrek is life👀🙏
Dragon and Donkey is best ship.

Jak Cooper Gamer for me too
Side note: In shrek 2, what happened to the dragon when donkey drank the potion? Did she become a horse too?
The best version of Selina and Bruce's relationship is still from that Gotham show tbh
Gross
Ummm... yeah... Roger makes her laugh... o_o
In the book Roger wished from genie that Jessica would love him. Genie had no problem at making it true. The book goes to different route though but the set up is still there.
YES! Thank you for acknowledging "Her" I LOVE that movie!!
My favorite weird couple is Sgt Calhoun and Fix-it-Felix from Wreck-It-Ralph.
Best weird couple is Linkara and Viga
-Leela and Fry
-Kate Beckett and Richard Castle

Excuse me? DeadpoolxSpidey is op!
I thought Deadpool loved Spiderman. :(
Oh my God you acknowledged Harold and Maude exists! That movie along with Wizard of speed and time are the two movies I feel like I'm the only person who knows they exist.
