    Few comments:
Sorry for my English - not native, just wanted to help everyone who's struggling with this issue.
IMPORTANT: Don't forget to reattach the spring on the left side (partly visible on the left upper gear 3:56). This spring must be attached to the gear that is moved by small motor on the left
Don't apply too much pressure when screwing cover - it might clog the motor
Don't worry if left (small) motor is wobbling or not attached to gear - it will be pressed by the cover

I was having the issue where the latch wouldn’t engage like you mentioned in the end of the video. All your steps worked but now I can’t open the hatch. Emergency release is not working either. What would you recommend? Thank you 🙏🏽

@@blushgtr In this case you have to open cover (unscrew bolts) and then re-engage spring on the gear which is on top of small motor

The best detailed description and video to check and repair the truck lock. I followed your video carefully - diagnosed the fault via your recommendations - and repaired my truck lock myself. Sincere Thank You

Just fixed my s211. One motor broke and replace both with new motors. Now it works and lock with no problem. Super thank you.

Best video lock repair, I even managed to fix the broken motor by soldering the brushes inside. All worked well afterwords. Thank you.

This video save me a lot of time. Even though it’s a 4 years old. Thanks.

Excellent video. It really helped me in making sure all the gears were properly positioned. Thanks a million. I actually drilled out the cover placement points and put small screws in to replace the cover.

Thanks for the video. I have same problem with my gl. Bought a replacement one on eBay for $30. It drained my battery the next day. They sent another one. Same thing happened. Will try to fix my oem one with your video.

Thanks for your video, I replaced both motors, other parts were ok, but when I reinstall lock, first it wasn't locking at all, then I rotate this gear, (I wasn't sure if this was the problem... )Now it locked the gate (without soft close) and won't open. I had to release it manually. Could you give me some hint what I'm doing wrong?

Hi, thank you for this video, it helped a lot. I’ve noticed a problem tho, after replacing this small electro engine The lock doesn’t close entirely. There is a small gap between The trunk and the chassy. After a night when the trunk was clossd, the batery run down. Almost entirely. I can’t start the car now. Any idea why the lock doesn’t lock until the end?

Despite our love for the Mercedes brand, the GL model from 2012 and earlier has many manufacturing defects that frustrate the soul, defects in the blind spot device, defects in oil leakage in the engine, defects in the front door lock malfunction, defects in the brakes, defects that you cannot find in a Korean or Chinese car. 😳

This is pointless. A new aftermarket replacement is available from Amazon for 50 USD.

@@laszlorogacs1925 Already did and it's worked perfectly for a year. The procedure took about 45 minutes total. Good luck with your cobbling. It's worth noting that the goal of DIY is to obtain professional quality results without paying a pro. No pro would ever repair a interchangeable assembly like this.
