I thought you'd like a look at this very clean 1940 Chevy Pickup. This truck was restored a few years back, but it's holding up really nicely. They basically restored the truck back to original condition and it really looks sharp. It's powered by a 216 Inline Six, backed by a manual trans. I hope you find it interesting...thanks for watching!
Filmed at Country Classic Cars in Staunton, IL

MacLeod's description:

With a jumping bass and off-beat syncopation, this is straight from Memphis' Beale Street. The Hammond organ and electric guitar play together as longtime friends, while the melody changes hands from guitar to organ to electric piano. 011

Very interesting. Lets put that baby next to today's 2014 Chevy Silverado and see what's changed in 74 years. They're so much alike and yet so different. Thanks Jeff! BTW looking good!

Beautiful, and barely a straight line on it, apart from the load area at the rear.

Sweet looking truck. That was when trucks were trucks. Very utilitarian, not much (if any) creature comforts.
The 6 volt headlights definitely aren't as bright. I would do a 12V conversion on anything I bought. There's a chance the truck was already converted...I didn't think to check that at the time.
I don't do test drives at that dealership....at least I haven't yet.
WOW. I love it!... I like the fan inside, never seen that before. Is that a factory option?
Nice. Can you see if you can get it next time your out there? Thanks!
That Camaro is at a different dealership, but I think they still have it.
Great video. Beautiful truck. I wish I had some extra coin, I would love to own a truck like that. Jeff I know these trucks ran six volt electrics, I would guess those big headlights were kind of weak. Jeff did these lights give off adequate light while driving at night?
I would have love to see any of the truck from 1930-1940 trucks have a CrewCab option
Yep, that's a 1967 Pontiac Grand Prix, powered by a 400.
It is pretty similar....his was probably just a year or two newer.
Hey what's that gold Pontiac behind it. a GP?
My brother has one just like this only red...he wants to sell. Precisely restored to original condition in Duncan, Oklahoma
i can tell that they spent a few months restoring it. i think all they did was remove the panels and engine, fixed some rust, rebuild and paint the engine and paint the removed panels and added some details. it can be a great daily driver or a delivery truck
In 1970 I Got My First Vehicle A 1940 1 Ton Truck It Was In Good Condition With A Stock Engine And 4 Speed Paid One Hundred Dollars Drove It For A Little Over A Year I Was 16 And Loved It Does Anyone Know Why They Are So Hard To Find Compared To A 41
