Similarly to Thurso, Starboard has a curved bottom, not flat (I think it's because of materials, and both had to use a curved bottom). This leads to wobbling and problems with a roll (which is fairly visible in this review).
The dropstitch most certainly gives a flat bottom to this board. If by curved bottom you are referring to the rockerline in this board, then the rocker line is important as it ensures the board performs in small sea states and that the nose of the board does not pearl when surfing.
@@TheSUPCompany Well, I meant not a rocker line, but a curvature in an orthogonal axis (not from a nose to tail, but instead from a left to right hands).
Hello there! Great review btw! Which board is more rigid, stiff, this one or touring 12'6? Do you feel any bending of the board with yours 90-ish kilos? Im considering to buy this one or touring 12'6. I have 70 kilos, which one would you recommend?thnx
I’ve bought this one and I’m very happy with it. For your weight this one would be perfect. I’m 1,78m with 78kg and for me it’s the sweet spot between portability (only 9,1kg incl. the fin), flexibility and price. I’ve paid 469€ for the set. Great value for money.
@@TheSithTeacher thx for the advice but i already buy touring deluxe. It was great discount, i pick it up for 500 euros so it was no brainer. Didnt try it yet but i think it would be awesome.
...waiting for mine to arrive!
You won't be disappointed Leo; it is a great board and paddle package.
