All things considered he dealt with it well, and the situation could have ended up being worse. But knowing trauma and the way specific memories I have are still vivid decades later, I'm confident that nobody could come away from this the same way, and nobody could ever forget something so sickening. I still remember hearing about this and just the thought of it affected me for weeks.
@The Venomous Worse (adjective) - 1. of poorer quality or lower standard; less good or desirable. 2. more ill or unhappy. (Adverb) - less well or skillfully (Noun) - a more serious or unpleasant event or situation. Yes, someone was decapitated. If not for the actions of a few of the men involved, multiple people could have lost their lives, or at the very least have been injured. That would have been "a more serious or unpleasant event or situation". It's a miracle more people didn't get hurt, so yes it easily could have been far worse. You can't compare something to itself genius, that's redundant. It's like saying "chocolate tastes worse than chocolate" which is nonsense.
@The Venomous Look I know what you're trying to say, but saying "if 2 or more people had gotten killed it would have been the same result" makes no sense. 2 deaths are inherently worse than 1 death no matter what, and the result is measurably worse by exactly that - a life. If it was someone in your family it would make a huge difference to you, so please don't equate a single murder to multiple murders. If everyone on the bus had been killed, for example, then it couldn't have been much worse than that could it? 1/37 vs 2/37 or 37/37.
It’s ok, Vincent Li has promised to stay on his medications. He has changed his name and walks freely amongst us… Why is it that only victims have no rights?
Because Canada is opposite land, everything that happens is the opposite. Women have power, cops do nothing but strut around in their uniforms, junkies are mollycoddled, etc. In the states they would have fried his ass for killing that guy.
If Canada would let it's people defend themselves this man's life could have been spared. When you pussies up north get enough of the BS from your GV you will fight for your right to defend yourselves. That POS would have died in the first 10 seconds of the attack if I would have been on that bus. Grow a pair Canada.

By the time the trucker got there, this guy was holding Tims head up. Believe me, Canada has balls and they are way bigger then yours.
This man is so composed telling this absolutely horrific story. Props to him. Can't imagine how he felt once the shock wore off... Hope he isn't haunted by this
He even said “I’m probably still in shock..” which. I’ve witnessed a fatal accident and when the EMT asked if I was ok I said the same thing. Sure enough. Years later I still white knuckle driving in the rain or snow I can’t IMAGINE the long lasting effects for this guy.
This man seems like a generally good person, and he looks like an every day person, and it really shows that not just war heroes or emergency services can get PTSD from horrific events like this. I hope he's doing so much better now, and he's doing alright.
When I was very young, I saw a child run over by a car. Looking back, I should have gotten therapy. It still haunts me. This will haunt this young man for the rest of his life.
I understand this incident needed to be covered, but I am suffering from severe PTSD for 4 decades, and during my countless years if being in treatment for it I learned one of the worst thing one can do is asking the affected for such details. Putting it in words, mentally again living through it, not long after it happened, before your mind not even remotely had time to process any of it, only burns the images seen and emotions felt into your brain even more. This guy appears to be so solid, kind and brave. I hate this so much for him, nobody should ever witness something that unbelievably dreadful and terrifying in their life. Alone watching this gave me cold sweat, a tight throat and a movement freeze. My heart goes out to this man and everyone else who has to live with what they had to see. And if course the victim’s family. I cannot even fathom losing your loved one this way.
🤯40 DECADES!?!? I'm just kidding, I know that was a typo. I'm sorry you have suffered so long brother. Most people can't imagine what it's like to go through something so traumatic that it literally stains you for life. My prayers go out to you🙏
yeah but just imagine if the guy was like "yeah, this is the sixth time i've seen somebody randomly murder another person beside me." turns out he's cursed and lives in some sort of lovecraftian horror world
@Form Emptiness Ah, yeah. I’ve seen those dark web videos of people being decapitated. That fucked me up badly. I remember being scared to leave my house for months.
Just so everyone knows, the guy who did this didn't even get charged with anything, but instead got put in a Canadian mental facility, and was released in 2015. So what, less than 10 years? There's people in prison for drugs who've done longer.
As a Canadian, this makes me sick. Makes us look like a weak ass country people who do this shit need to get the death penalty. No way they should ever see the light of day
I feel sorry for this guy (and obviously for the victim and his family) he genuinely seems like a straight up good guy. Hope he managed to work through this horrific experience.
More happened on the bus that he didn't see and one of the responding police officers suffered from severe PTSD and committed suicide later. The killer is walking free with no restrictions after spending less then 7 years in a metal hospital where he was allowed to leave and go do things while supervised.
Trust me when I say that he will see those images every time he closes his eyes for the rest of his life. It’s been 17 years since I saw someone literally shoot their head off & im still taking meds to go to sleep because I still see that headless body when my eyes close. It NEVER goes away
I'm really freaked out thinking about being the guy being attacked.. one second you're just sitting there listening to music and the next there's a guy stabbing you in the throat and sawing your head off
I think the traumatic look on this guy's face wasn't just the actual murder, but the realization that sitting right next to the person meant that he could've been the victim himself.
Yeah but it's mostly from seeing someone being stabbed and beheaded. That kinda thinking doesn't come until later unless you're a complete narrcacist which clearly he isn't .
that’s so tragic, i can’t help but notice the interviewer repeatedly asking specific graphic questions with no remorse whatsoever. the poor guy was still in shock
The most terrifying part is that this guy, the victim, lost his life in broad daylight on a bus full of people. You may think that you are safe, surrounded by people in a public space, but no. All it took was one guy with a knife and no one did anything at all to help. I'm not blaming anyone for not helping, I understand that most people react to shocking events by running and saving themselves, it is human nature. I am simply pointing out just how horrific it is that no matter where you are, no matter who you're with, you are never truly safe.
A young man was brutally murdered. He was someone's beloved son. The monster who committed this evil act is now free. Is anyone protesting? Aren't Canadians just a little bit worried about this?
Setanta well I live in Winnipeg where the guy is and sure I’m sometimes worried but the guy is schizofranic and dosnt even remember doing it and spent 10 years in rehab. But we do actually do stuff about it
Canadians are worried about violent criminals for sure. Also worried about genetically modified foods, Fukushima and a whole bunch of other criminal violations.
Some international laws need to be invented to correct the criminal event that Fukushima has become. It is going to be far more victimizing than a host of violent psychopaths.

I remember this story, but I've never seen this guy and his interview before. Really paints a whole new perspective. I also gotta give the guy props. This poor dude has probably not gotten over this still.
I was thinking that poor guy looks like he's in shock
All things considered he dealt with it well, and the situation could have ended up being worse. But knowing trauma and the way specific memories I have are still vivid decades later, I'm confident that nobody could come away from this the same way, and nobody could ever forget something so sickening. I still remember hearing about this and just the thought of it affected me for weeks.
Well how tf do you get over something like that?
@The Venomous
Worse (adjective) -
1. of poorer quality or lower standard; less good or desirable.
2. more ill or unhappy.
(Adverb)
- less well or skillfully
(Noun)
- a more serious or unpleasant event or situation.

I hate this so much for him, nobody should ever witness something that unbelievably dreadful and terrifying in their life.

that’s so tragic, i can’t help but notice the interviewer repeatedly asking specific graphic questions with no remorse whatsoever. the poor guy was still in shock
