This is very important to know about the cockpit voice recorder it is the main control of the airplanes there's computerized chips that store data even if in a crash the FAA required this cockpit voice recorder as the main control of the airplanes today
The NTSB needs to be disbanded. Far too much 'control' and 'political' nonsense, and bureaucracy to actually 'benifit' any REAL accident investigation. We can far do better with Non governmental investigative agencies to looki into any accidents.

Its not that simple.

it varies depending on the amount of data, storage medium and complexity of damage
Asking that the underwater ping can't be heard by the human ear is silly how would you possibly hear anything under more than a couple feet of water?
Underwater you can actually hear things from farther distance. The denser the medium in which soundwaves travel, the further they distribute.
