Another great tool I recently started using is a nail sponge. In nail salons they use them to file nails, they have 4 sides with different grit and are labeled, rough, fine, polish, shine. Because of the flexible nature of the sponge backing they allow a bit of flex for large surfaces that aren't flat. Nothing worse then putting a flat spot in a gorgeous rounded shield or one of my other typical screw ups. Awesome video, will be pointing others here for sure, Thank you!
Ahh yeah, I've been considering trying one of those out with other modeling things I've been doing. For now though I'm just using different levels of fine-grit sandpaper. It's nice to have multiple options for tools to use!
Thank you for the video!
You're welcome! Glad it's helpful!
Useful and well done. Thank you.
My micro files are X-acto miniature needle files #7365
I had no idea that flexible sculpting tools were a thing. I've been using my baby finger for years. I'm going to get some right now! Great video :) I love that you included time stamps as well.
Yeah I didn't know about them for a long while either. But they're so nice!! Make smoothing things out so much easier and makes way better results than anything else I've tried. I figured the timestamps would be particularly helpful since I'd imagine most people would want to jump to a specific part. Especially if they're returning to the video. Always annoying to have to search through a video for a specific part haha :)
Thanks so much for the video! This is so helpful for a beginner such as myself.
Glad you found it helpful man! Any other topics you'd find particularly useful?
@@BandaInku I would really love some tutorials on basic color theory. For example, for painting Rising Sun, I'm not very confident picking colors for, say, the blue faction where they look really good, but are still obviously the blue faction (your videos on painting the boss miniatures from Rising Sun are amazing, so thank you again!). Beyond making blue the primary color, I'm not sure how to go about picking accent colors such that they don't overlap much with other factions. I really love your tutorials and I think they're definitely the most helpful of any videos I've seen. Thank you so much for sharing with us!
