- तुर्की में महंगाई से लोग बेहाल हैं, वहां के लाखों लोग क्रेडिट कार्ड के ज़रिए अपना जीवन यापन कर रहे हैं. मार्च में तुर्की का सालाना इंफ्लेशन रेट यानी महंगाई दर बढ़कर 68.5% हो गया. ऐसे में बड़ी संख्या में लोग अपनी मूलभूत ज़रूरतों जैसे खाने और रहने के लिए भी क्रेडिट कार्ड पर निर्भर हो गए हैं. तुर्की की सबसे बड़ी ट्रेड यूनियनों में से एक DISK के मुताबिक, तुर्की में न्यूनतम वेतन 17,000 लीरा (43 हज़ार रुपये) प्रति माह है, जबकि गरीबी की सीमा 25,000 लीरा (64 हज़ार रुपये) से ऊपर है. खाद्य पदार्थों की बढ़ती कीमतें सबसे ज़्यादा मुश्किलें पैदा कर रही हैं. आर्थिक सहयोग और विकास संगठन (OECD) से जुड़े देशों में तुर्की में इंफ्लेशन सबसे ज़्यादा है.
