If he hadn't lost his memory, then he could never be happy or free if he kept living with all his hurtful memories, knowing how much he hurted his wife and daugther. For me, the memory loss totally makes sense here, and it was his salvation, otherwise he would be better of dead. I hate when they use the memory loss thing just because in a lot of dramas, but in this one i think they needed to. Hyun soo could only be happy if he started a new with Ji won and their daugther without all the remorse and regrets.

I agree with this! At first I wasn't in favor of Hyun Soo having amnesia as it's kinda an overused trope in kdramas (LOL).
I also first found it rlly sad bc of their memories together that have been "lost" and it would be redundant to see his character learn to love again- as we've already seen that Hyun Soo is capable of it. But I soon thought that his life as Baek Hee Sung would always loom over him- the guilt & regrets. The crying confrontational scene they had in the car was emotional af but it was cathartic. It was like the start of him owning up to living Do Hyun Soo's life- a much needed identify to own but not knowing where to start yet. With all the amnesia set up comes creating a new life again with Ji Won, as Hyun Soo himself. So yes it's heartbreaking, but also cathartic and holds the promise of a new chapter 😭❤️

I agree with you, but I don’t think it was very necessary. It fitted very well in the story and it made totally sense, that’s for sure!
But I think he could’ve slowly start to show more feelings (what he already did little by little during the whole drama) without forgetting the “beautiful memories” of his family, who also could’ve possibly helped him to get over the past and start from zero again. (Maybe I’m too romantic lol 😂 )
But I can’t understand at all why people where so annoyed about the ending.. 🙄
It made all perfectly sense! He was shot in the head which could’ve led either to death or memory loss. He’s not supernatural to survive this without any damage...
This was definitely a realistic solution and it also led to a Happy End!!
This drama was all in all a MASTERPIECE from the first second to the last one! ♥️
I think it's better for anyone to front and embrace your past, coz that way you can find true peace. Living with a fake identity was no good coz he lived a life of a murderer, second it's good for him to remember his past coz his name was cleared, the ghost of his father too changed, before it looked evil with darkness in his eyes, but in ep 15 his appearance changed he looked warm which means even the ghost changed at the end.
All he needs is forgiving himself and make it to his family.
I wish people would just understand even if we don't like the amnesia part. The hidden meaning behind it is Hyunsoo's memories are like painful petals falling and new bud formed which is the new start with Jiwon/Eunha. Still, almost every part of the finale made me cry, it was still a wonderful finale. I know, it doesn't fully satisfy everyone. What you call the "low/flaws" of this drama is still much better than the "highs" of other dramas.The writer had her reason to go that route, it was also just temporary one which he started remembering. It was probably deserved with how much Hyunsoo suffered, that it's okay to forget the suffering/living false life temporarily and start fresh. Just appreciate they gave us a wonderful drama. Flower of Evil is a masterpiece. Joonchae has best chemistry and is best couple ❤️

I feel the same, this drama was so unique, and actually I feel it so natural, what can I understand about his amnesia is that it was a new start for him, he was unsure about his love to her, he doesn't know if he really loved her and his daughter or it was just him fake it as everyone told him before, all the people around him told him that he was broke, but at the end no matter what happens he was sure that his love was real, he was able to trust himself, love and be loved without any lie. And I think he wasn't broken at all it was people around him who were wrong, only his sister saw that.

There are many dramas that are "really good" or "the best" but flower of evil is defined as a MASTERPIECE there is no doubt about that. It truly is my favorite drama I've ever watched and I've watched it 2 times already and yes I'll watch it again and again and again because it's that good 💫❤

Flower of evil is one of the best dramas i have ever watched. The acting and storyline is like nothing else, i wish it got so much more recognition.
Moon Chae Won and Lee Joon Gi are one of the best actors in the South Korean acting industry. Moon Chae Won never failed to amaze me every single time. All of her projects are work of art. I love how she choose her dramas and movies. It's always something different and heavy at some point. Now I understand why she's dubbed the "Queen of Melodramas". I love how natural her performances. Aside from that, her classic beauty proves Chae Won is ethereal. I've been a fan of her since I was 10 years old and I've been following her for a while. I'll say she's a complete package and has a very attractive personality. She's elegant, feminine, well-spoken and a private person. On the other hand, Lee Joon Gi is one of my all time fave actors. I remember seeing that movie where he was a circus performer. I said to myself, "Wow, what a beautiful man." Years later, I saw him in My Girl together with Lee Dong Wook and since then I've also been a big fan of his work. I love his dedication to his craft and how amazing he is in person. I hope both of them would receive numerous accolades for this superb drama. 🖤

Tbh I feel like the memory loss was more of a psychological dissociative memory loss...i feel like there bullet didn't do that ..i think his brain doesn't handle the pain and simply erased the hurtful memories so that he could cope
It's an actual thing and happens to a lot of people and it makes a lot of sense
The ending was realistic actually. He didn't fully regain his memories and could remember the name ones with some effort but his body remembered her which corresponds to the dissociative memory loss. He decided to learn more as he went along.
I actually absolutely hate the memory loss trope because it's stupid if you're going to get them back anyway and you're doing it so that it can act as a filter for one or two episodes where they just wander and there's no progress in the story, and moreover it makes no sense medically.. But I'm glad they did that in this one because it was actually necessary

This is such a beautiful series with a mixture of everything nice. No matter how many dramas I've seen after this, this sure holds a special place in my heart.
This drama is seriously one of the best of the past few years for me. I can't say I'm actually totally satisfied with the last episode, I would have been okay with a losing memory tropes if they had more time to develop and resolve it in a more realistic way, maybe two more episodes. I would have enjoyed better a last episode with Hyun Soo finally being able to clear his name and reunite with his family without that memory loss. But ! They got their happy ending so it actually doesn't matter that much. xD And it doesn't change anything about the fact that this drama was a masterpiece, the way it was written was seriously so good, and the actors did an amazing job. I will certainly remember it for a loooong time. And probably cry my eyes out while rewatching it in a few weeks. All your videos on it were amazing, they helped me to wait between each episodes ! You're so talented, thank you. ♥
Omg I agree!! I wasn’t fully satisfied with the last ep. The memory loss had pros and cons. They came so far and he worked through so much with her that I wished he remembered it all. His body remembers the feelings and physical actions but his mind doesn’t. It was just a little unfair, IMO. But I guess it’s also OK that he doesn’t remember bc I think after all of that, he’d feel too guilty to move on with his family. This way, he only remembers how he feels with them and create real new memories rather than the doubtful ones. Not that any of the previous memories with his family were fake, but that it got to a point where he wasn’t even sure if he really felt genuine or if it was just an act. The leads were both struggling with whether his actions & intentions were really his or just an act. BC he finally cleared his name & is at ease with being himself without the previous memories, they both know his genuine self & will learn about him together moving forward. I think that was the main point of the memory loss. I’ll take it but yea, I’m not 100% satisfied lol 😆
Same. I was not 100% satisfied because Jiwon deserves so much more after having to go through all that. I really empatized with Jiwon during the car scene where she questioned how Hyunsoo forgot her after they've gone so far. At the same time, I also felt bad for Hyunsoo because it was so obvious that eventhough his mind forgot Jiwon, He always felt attached to her and kept thinking about her. He also felt helpless not knowing whether he was truthful towards his love for her or not. Thus, I 100% agree with needing at least 2 more episodes to clear things out between them. Perhaps the fact that I started watching this drama preparing myself for a devastating ending allowed me to push aside my discontent and just be thankful that we got a happy ending 😁

The memory loss is toturing, but romantic, as it allows Hyun Soo to fall in love with Ji Won all over again as his real self without any pretence. The workshop scene is healing in that Hyun Soo finally discovers that even disguised as Baek Hee Sung, he has loved this woman deeply and genuinely without knowing it for 14 years. The part where he returns to Ji Won her previius words of pledge of love is the most touching. Her words like magic have engraved themselves so deeply on his heart that he says them without conscious thought, when agitated by the possibility of her walking out of his life. This way, the memory loss serves an awakening purpose.

This drama is the best of the bests. I've watched nearly 90 kdramas so far but nothing can top this one and I don't know if anything ever will be able to. This is what I call a masterpiece. After this show I watched everything with Lee Joon Gi that was available in my country and now I can't wait to see Arthdale Chronicles S2. ❤❤ Thank you for making this video. It is a great editing. ❣
I was happy but also so sad when watching the final episode. This drama was beautifully created. Every word said, every moment, every place that appeared in every episode is full of emotions that make it a wonderful drama. #FlowerOfEvil is now my favorite drama of the year 😭💜💜 Also, I couldn't help falling in love with Lee Joon Gi who worked so hard in this project. And Moon Chae Won also is so talented and beautiful! They look so good as a couple! 💓💕👏👏

Finally watch this drama and save myself from all spoilers. Definitely a drama that I'll rewatch again and again. Very heartwrenching, beautiful, lovely drama. I just finished watching the drama last night, and rewatching the last 5 episodes. Man, I cried more and more. Everytime they cried, it hurts so freaking bad 😭 I was bailing my eyes out when he's losing himself thinking that Jiwon was an illusion.
I am happy with the ending. Altho I'm hoping to see more. But it makes sense, didnt know some people didn't actually fond of the ending tho. They suffered a lot. Although it would be nice to remember everything and start over from there, still it's great. As a veteran for kdrama, gotta say this is in my recommended list! Gotta rewatch it again 🤛

I love the amnesia card because it gave the opportunity to rebuild a truth on all the lies. It adds lot of beautiful drama about his confusion on what they’ve told him how he should feel or not feel.
Not remembering exactly everything makes him more honest because he can hold on his lake of memory and skip responsibility on her wife and daughter. But he finally gets some uneasiness that bothers him must mean something. That nervousness around her deserve to be explored.
This drama is definitely one of the best ones I've ever watched and in 10 years I have watched quite a lot. I love your song choice and your MV is just perfection!

In a way it’s very sad and upsetting he lost his memory and he can’t remember jiwon or eunha but it was a good thing bc all the trauma in his past would be forgotten it doesn’t have to be brought up again yk Lmaoo and am I the only one who thinks Hyung soo looks like SVT wonwoo and jiwon looks like Blackpinks jisoo

How do I move on from this drama, though we got the happy ending that we longed for, I still feel empty that my Wednesdays and Thursdays would no longer be the same. It was agonizing having to wait each week for two episodes and was even more for having to wait a whole week for just the last episode not knowing if the ending would be favorable. But truly, it was worth it. This drama just made my 2020 better. ☺

Incluso la pérdida de memoria que odian muchas, me parece excelente porque le da la oportunidad de construir una verdad definitiva que entierre todas sus mentiras.
La falta de memoria lo hace más honesto porque él puede justificarse en su falta de memoria para no responsabilizarse por su esposa e hija, pero él al final reconoce que esa inquietud que lo incomoda alrededor de ella debe significar algo que merece ser explorado y le da una oportunidad que al conocer a su hija puede experimentar que no era todo una farsa.

These few years, because of toxic netizens and racial discrimination in Korea, also because of low quality Korean dramas, I have switched my favourites to Chinese dramas..but this drama remind me that k-drama is superior. Honestly, they brought me back to k-world. The character of the female lead is strong, kind, reliable and also realistic and relatable. I love them much. Also I love your edits💕
@Ecn s, both Chinese drama and Kdrama have their plus and minus. The Chinese drama of the past for me at least have better all around quality then the current ones.

I've been watching your FOE videos as a reward for when I finished a corresponding episode, and my gosh have you edited each one spectacularly. This last one was the cherry on top, and I truly feel like the series over now that I've seen this. What a bittersweet feeling *sigh*
Tbh the only thing I would add is one more episode to develop the memory loss and reunion thing. But it was amazing. I know that it’s good to accept the past and he is ready to do that since some of his memories have returned. But keep in mind is that he literally lost his mind when he thought that Jiwon was dead. Idk how he would feel if he didn’t lose his memory. It’s better like this since he would face the past together with her, like a person he really is. I feel bad because of Jiwon, it wasn’t fair to her, but they got a happy ending, I am completely fine with this plot and it’s 10/10 for me.
I know, right?, this is the only drama that uses disociative amnesia in a good way, to heal HyunSoo and to give him the chance to reborn (it's also annoying that in most dramas everyone remember everything so quick, it's should be a process). I found really meaningful that he said at the very end "Let's find the man you are looking for together, now I'm curious about him" he finally embraces his past self and it's ready to be with his family and try to remember. The HyunSoo of the last episode is the best HyunSoo, he is so sincere and it's not afraid to share his more intimate thoughts (the meaning of his workshop's name)🥺

I was thinking that based on how hyun soo remembered a few memories near the end of the last episode as he went around places that he used to go and did things he used to do, it's possible that he can recover a lot of his memories if he continues to be around jiwo and eunha and try to find places or things that trigger the memories. (Tbh, I feel like they should have had an extra episode to wrap it up nicer) So it's possible that he could recover. Not only that, the fact that his body still has the emotions and knowledge of who he was before the amnesia shows that the old him is still very well intact and that he isn't completely gone. There's hope yet, except now he can have a fresh start and finally experience the kind of warm love he never had growing up
