When I listen to this I think about one of my best friends who I have a crush on. He’s straight (I’m a bisexual guy) but the last time we got drunk he told me he has weird feelings for me. When I listen I think about us, about what we might never be and how much that hurts. But I also get happy, as the melody gets faster, when I think about how lucky I am every day when we cuddle and laugh.. I think about how safe I feel when we lay down and he holds me tight against his chest with his strong arms wrapped around me, whispering people are right when they say I’m cute. I think about how our friends constantly tell us we should be a couple and how we then look at each other with the biggest smiles on our faces and laugh it off saying they’re “crazy and should stop sexualizing us!!”
I think about when he plays with my hair and when we hold hands, and when he takes off his shirt looking into my eyes. I think about the hardships we’ve been through, our happiest times and when we get drunk together and talk until we fall asleep after kissing each other’s foreheads. When he rests his head in my lap (which makes my heart beat way too fast) and when we randomly hold hands even though others are around.. But we both know it wouldn’t work out. Which is why we both have to forget about our feelings. He tells me we’d both be better off with girls, and I know.. We’re bros, best friends. We can’t destroy that. If we let ourselves fall in love it could ruin everything. So we’ll just live like this. Happy, yet still in such pain. That’s what this makes me think of.
