Speaker : Nouman Ali Khan - A bit about him
Nouman Ali Khan is the founder and CEO of Bayyinah. His first exposure to Arabic study was in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia where he completed his elementary education. He continued Arabic grammar study in Pakistan, where he received a scholarship for ranking among the top 10 scores in the national Arabic studies board examinations in 1993. But his serious training in Arabic began in the United States in 1999 under Dr. Abdus-Samie, founder and formal principal of Quran College, Faisalabad, Pakistan who happened to be touring the US for intensive lectures in Tafsir and Arabic studies. Under Dr. Abdus-Samie, Nouman developed a keen methodical understanding of Arabic grammar. He further benefited from Dr. Abdus-Samie by internalizing his unique teaching methods and later translating his work into English for the benefit of his own students. Nouman served as professor of Arabic at Nassau Community College until ’06 and has taught Modern Standard and Classical Arabic at various venues for nearly 7 years with over 10,000 students nationwide. Currently he has dedicated himself to a seven-year-long project, of conducting a linguistic & literary focus Qur’anic Tafseer series in English. I have been going through a tough time. I can't stop doing the same sin over and over no matter what I do. I don't feel my prayer whenever I pray wallahi. I am struggling to accept myself. please make dua for me to have a strong & high imaan, feel my prayers and to offer my prayers sincerely and also to accept myself for how Allah created me. I actually pray my salah on time I never miss them but my life can't change I'm going through though days my whole life is missed up even though I never miss prays and I always make dua but nothing change and I don't what's going on and most people think If u pray ur problems u will go I would say its through but everyone mine its actually continues every day 😢
Allah assures His followers, “For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease” [Surah Ash-Sharh, 94-5].
Embrace His promise. Do not give up even if the pain seems never-ending and you feel worn out from carrying it all; there is relief and something even greater waiting for you just around the corner . . Even the best of His creation, the prophets, were never free of troubles. While making Dua believe that Allah will answer your dua and don’t doubt it. Trust Allah Also make lots of istighfar and leave everything in Allah’s hands He is your creator and He knows what is best for you. If the state of grief worsens and leads to some level of depression, then in addition to this spiritual remedy, showing patience, putting one’s trust in Allah and always remembering Him, medical attention from a knowledgeable and trustworthy specialist is also needed. May Allah make it easier for you and grant you patience .

i want to ask a question what should we do if we are very distant from allah and then somthing bad happen to us and we turn back to allah and get on the right path but then again we turn away from the deen and stop praying salah why and how does this happen??
Sister you have to surround yourself with righteous people. You may have good ppl ard u who care for u but to me close to Allah u shd be in company of those who are close to Allah. Beco such ppl will remind u of Allah's Zikr constantly. And then there must be something in your act that u need to abstrain from to get close to Allah. It can be listening to songs or lying, boasting, backbiting or getting angry . There is something which displeases Allah so u need to find that thing inside you and do astaghfar to stay away from it for the sake of Allah. WallahuAlam. May Allah guide us all to straight path Ameen
Make it a habit to taubah every single day and night and especially ask for forgiveness before dawn(u can read Surah Ale Imran ayah 17). Sometimes our iman dip low and also we sinned knowingly or not. Sometimes it us test to see ur ikhlas because ikhlas is part of iman and it is in the heart. The Qalb(Allah is the heart turner) and we always need check our intentions and purify our nafs and intentions.
Many people turn to Allah for a while and then turn away when things didn't go their way(this worshipping with Nafs) or when things go their way they abandon Allah. In the Qur'an it is stated in many places 'are constant in prayers and charity(zakat)' constant it means good and bad times. There are people like work righteousness for Jannah ..there people who do righteous deeds to avoid Jahanam. La Illaha IllAllah means none is worthy of worship except Allah. Even the Jahanam or the Jannah as the prize or punishment. Does it mean if Allah did not create Jannah or Jahanam will we still worship Him out of all the things, places, people , His other Creations? Renew your iman every single day for zikr La Illaha IllAllah with the intentions to purify the heart (Allah only sees pur heart and accept our ikhas deeds)Istighfar and send durood. The above comments too are good examples of friends we need to have. If Allah turn you away from His religion or Qur'an no 1 can you back except Allah. Get to know Him by learning tauhid with scholars and about the life and sacrifices of Prophet Muhammad Sollallahu Alaihe Wa Salaam. May Allah keep us steadfast in His Deen and have mercy on us in this life and Hereafter. Ameen

Regarding the people of taqwa, who are able to "swallow" their anger and do not show it even on their face: how to be people of taqwa (correct me if I'm wrong, I think that taqwa involves also: avoiding fights and say sorry even when you're right, pass over things that might bother you from people (also the loved ones), ...) without looking like a weak person? It might look like you let the others win, and the fact that they "win" can feed their ego and start to think low of you, and to treat you as if you're inferior. How to have taqwa and be respected?
We live in a crazy world and to have Taqwa is not very hard in fact. You gotta keep trying it in a situation where it is tested the most. InshaAllah you will achieve that.
You are right about everything from to forgive, say sorry and avoid fights even if you haven't done any wrong. But think of it that Allah Subt is watching you and knows your intention. If you do the right thing, you are pleasing Allah Subt and not worry about if anyone sees you as inferior.
Yes I agree with the other brother, even I sometimes think that its bad to look weak to other people, but one thing im trying to implement now is:
- being mindful that the reason we are doing this is to gain Allah swt's favour
- so it doesnt matter what those high-ego people think if we know that we are being patient for Allah's sake
- He will give us something better in reward inshaAllah

How to start praying? Like how to find the motivation to do it with a busy college life, non muslim friends and feeling like a failure for our sins?
Start with Fardh prayers only, 2 + 4 + 4 + 3 + 4. Inshallah you will start for nafil when you will perfect your Fardh. And remove distractions like social media. After that ,be responsible for your time Time management is very very important for a student so start making a time table and make proper use of your time distributing between college work and Prayers and dhikr. And last of all make intentions to improve your Deen . Intension is very powerful for us Muslims as Allah swt makes it easy for us when we intend for something
اتْلُ مَا أُوحِيَ إِلَيْكَ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ وَأَقِمِ الصَّلاةَ إِنَّ الصَّلاةَ تَنْهَى عَنِ الْفَحْشَاءِ وَالْمُنْكَرِ وَلَذِكْرُ اللَّهِ أَكْبَرُ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَصْنَعُونَ ) العنكبوت/45
Learn the meaning of this Ayah, memorize it and read it on daily basis until you find the motivation and desire to pray and prostrate to Allah! May Allah guide you and make it easy for you to do good deeds for his sake.
Also learn the meaning of this prayer .

What I did was just pick one or two prayers you know you can do. I picked asr and isha because i knew asr and fajr are the most important, and isha is nighttime so I did it before bed. then I threw in magrib with isha and i had a 3/5 prayer situation. every night to calm myself before I slept, I would watch a video by either nouman ali or omar sulimean or mufti menk and that helped my iman grow a lot. Then I started throwing in doing fajr whenever I woke up. eventually I worked my way into waking up for fajr and going back to sleep after. It's not a perfect process, but it starts with just one prayer because one prayer is better than no prayer. When you learn more about the religion you start to feel more comfortable and realize it's natural to go away from Allah and then come back again. Shaytan doesn't want you to pray so he will make it seem like your sins are so great, that you cannot return. After graduating college last year, I realized it's not true at all. Sometimes you go far away just to come back stronger.

I HAVE A QUESTION: Say my parents go for Hajj. They're saying i must keep myself covered after they come back and if l do not, their Hajj will be invalid and not accepted. My question is, will their hajj be unacceptable becuz of MY SIN? Or there will be new sins added to their record?
If the hajj of your Parents would be accepted depends only of them and their sincerety and not of the fact if you wear hijab or Not or other dead of yours..may Allah acceppt from them and May Allah give you strenght to start wear your hijab😊🌷
Their hajj has nothing to do with you and your actions. Everyone is accountable for their own actions and worship, they are just trying to emotionally manipulate to cover up and lying on Allah swt which is a major sin. Their intentions may be good if they are trying to get you to be modest but how they are doing it is a a very big sin "And, for what your tongues describe, do not utter the lie, (saying) this is lawful and this is unlawful, in order to forge a lie against Allah; surely those who forge a lie against Allah shall not prosper. A little enjoyment and they shall have a painful punishment."
(Surah Nahl 16:116-117)

What to do if you are a hoarder
Am struggling a bit with letting go of things. So i have been using the wisdom that If i accumulate so much, i won't have space to receive more or better... so i have to keep making space. And that involves getting rid of what i have. And the best way to do that is giving to those that need it.

2: 166. *When those who have been followed are freed from those who have been following, and they would see the punishment, and all their relations between them would be cut off.*
167. *And those who have been following will say: “Indeed, if we had a chance, then we would free ourselves from among them just like they have freed themselves from us”! Thus, Lord Allah will show them their deeds as a cause of sorrow upon them, and they will never come out of the Fire!*
The scene of quarreling, blaming, accusing, arguing, and cursing between the hypocrites and their weakling followers in the Fire is warned in this verse. So for Arabic Quran reading Fujjar the read, heard, and touched verses will argue and witness against them and will push them into Hell. Today these wrongdoers are carrying the Book like the burden carrying donkeys as told in verse 62: 5. The following verses describe the scenarios of such Mujirims in the Hereafter:
(1) Verse 4: 140 says: “Verily We have revealed upon you in the Book, if you hear verses of Lord being denied and mocked, then you don’t sit there with them until they involve in any other speech, (if you sit there) indeed, you are just like them; indeed, Lord Allah will gather the hypocrites and the disbelievers all together in the Hell”.
(2) Verse 14: 21 says: “They all will be unveiled before the Lord on a Day. Then the weaklings will say to the arrogant leaders: ‘Indeed, we had been following you, are you able to avert us from the punishment of Allah?’ They will reply: ‘If Allah had guided us, verily we would have guided you; it is the same for us whether we quarrel or be patient, nobody is there to save us’”.
(3) Verses 26: 91-102 say: “The hades will be placed for the aimless, and it will be asked to them: ‘Where are they that you were serving besides Lord Allah? Can they help you or can they help themselves?’ Then you stack them (followers), the aimless (leaders), and all gangs of the Iblis in Hades. They will say by quarreling with each other: ‘By the Lord, indeed we were in obvious astray while we adopted equals to the Lord of the worlds for you, and none led us astray except the Mujirims. Then none is there for us as intercessors, nor any friend who testify the Truth; then indeed if we have a chance, we would be among the believers”.
(4) Verses 28: 62-64 say: “And on the Day, Lord Allah will call out to them and ask: ‘Where are My associates whom you had been claiming?’ Then those upon whom the charge is pronounced will say: ‘Our Lord, these are the ones whom we made aimless! We made them aimless just as we were aimless. We absolve ourselves into you, it was not us they have been serving’. It will be said to them: ‘You call your associates’, then they will call them; then they will not respond to them, and they will see the punishment if they had been guided”!.
(5) Verses 33: 66-68 say: “On the Day when their faces will be twisted in the Fire, they will say: ‘Woe to us! If we had only obeyed the Lord and obeyed the Messenger’; and will say: ‘Our Lord! Indeed we obeyed our chiefs and our arrogant leaders, then they led us astray from the Straightpath; our Lord! You give them a double punishment and curse them with a very great curse”.
(6) Verses 34: 31-33 say: “And the disbelievers say: ‘We will never believe with this Reading nor with the One before It; and if you are seeing the condition of these wrongdoers made to stand before their Lord, they will throw one another with the words of blame. The weaklings will tell the arrogant ones: ‘If you were not there, we would have been believers’. The arrogant ones will tell the weaklings: ‘Did we obstruct you from the Guidance after It had reached you? Nay, you were the Mujirims’. The weaklings will say to the arrogant ones: ‘Nay, there was day-night plotting when you commanded us to disbelieve in the Lord and set up equals to Him. They will conceal their regret when they see the punishment, and We will put yokes upon the necks of these disbelievers. Will they be rewarded except for what they had been doing?”
(7) Verses 37: 28-34 say: “The weaklings will say: ‘Indeed, it was you who used to come to us from the right side’. The arrogant ones will say: ‘Nay, you were not believers, we had not any authority upon you; nay, you had been such a rebellious people. Thus, Our Lord’s word has been applicable upon us, indeed we have to taste (the punishment). Thus we had made you aimless, indeed, we were aimless’. Then indeed, on that Day they will be associating in the punishment. Indeed, We will do so with the Mujirims”.
(8) Verses 40: 47-50 say: “When they are quarreling in the Fire, the weaklings will tell the arrogant ones: ‘Indeed, we were following you, then are you able to reduce for us a portion from the Fire?’ The arrogant leaders will say: ‘Indeed, we, all are in it, indeed Lord Allah has judged among His servants’. And inmates of the Fire will ask the keepers of Hell (Angels): ‘You appeal to your Lord to lighten a day of the punishment from us’. Then keepers will ask: ‘Hadn’t the Messengers come to you with Explanations?’ Inmates will say: ‘Of course, they had’. Then the keepers will say: ‘Then you appeal, and the prayer of disbelievers increases nothing except astray”.
(9) Verses 41: 26-29 say: “Those who are disbelievers will say: ‘You don’t hear this Reading (Adhikr), and you make noises therein so that you may succeed’. And We will make the disbelievers taste the severe punishment, and We will reward them for the worst deeds they have been doing. That will be the reward for the enemies of Lord, the Fire! For them will have an eternal house in it as a reward for they were repudiating with Our verses. And those who disbelieved will say: ‘Oh our Lord! You show us both the Jinns and humans who misled us so that we will crush both of them beneath our feet for we were the underdogs”.
(10) Verses 43: 74-78 say: “Indeed, the Mujirims will remain in the punishment of Hell forever, it will not be eased for them and they will feel confounded in It. And We have not done any unjust to them, but they were unjust. They will call: ‘Oh Malik! May your Lord put an end to us’? Malik will reply: ‘Indeed, you should abide therein forever, verily We had come to you with the Truth, but most among you were hating the Truth’”. See explanation 2: 93; 6: 94 and 7: 38-40.

I HAVE A QUESTION: Say my parents go for Hajj. They're saying i must keep myself covered after they come back and if l do not, their Hajj will be invalid and not accepted. My question is, will their hajj be unacceptable becuz of MY SIN? Or there will be new sins added to their record?
