I personally believe that, technically, grace alone has saved each one of us, even including those who has not yet received it(John 2:2). Grace is God's part and Faith is man's part. Ephesians 2:8-9. Although God has already saved or has even already provided all grace for each one of us through Christ's finished work at the cross each one of us has to personally accept it. Just as Sodium alone in a salt when taken in itself can kill you, Chloride alone in that salt when taken in itself can also kill you. Both Sodium and Chloride are to be properly mixed together to make a table salt, because improper mixture of both can cause your death. Similarly, GRACE alone when taken in itself apart from FAITH, can lead you to passivity. And FAITH alone when taken independently from GRACE, can result to legalism or man-made formula (of how to's to move God). Your taking of one independent of the other can surely kill you. Therefore, we can conclude that FAITH is not anything we do to get a response from God but instead FAITH is but our positive response to God who has already provided us all Grace. Hence, without our response of FAITH the desired GRACE of SALVATION will still remain a missing link. Grace is absolutely free because they are already completely and perfectly done by God alone at the cross independent of us. But in order for us to profit God's amazing GRACE we still have to receive it by FAITH. Indeed, FAITH is not something you do in order to get a response from God. You cannot twist GOD'S Hand to give you grace by your own human faith. FAITH comes by hearing God's pure word of grace. FAITH is your POSITIVE RESPONSE to God who has already provided you all the GRACE you need through His finished work at the cross. FAITH appropriaties GRACE. So that, when both GOD'S GRACE and our FAITH are properly mixed together, miracles after miracles can surely be realized. This is illustrated to us in Hebrews 4:2. God bless us always. In Christ
