- Today I share my review of Dusk Diver 2 for the Nintendo Switch. This has released on Steam, PS4 and Switch in asia but the West is getting a localization Summer 2022 that will also port it to the PS5. Thank you so much for watching. I loved the original Dusk Diver and this sequel was virtually an improvement all around with it's additions to exploration, world building, diverse combat builds, and overhauling the combat system to be accessible yet welcoming to new players. I love the first game. It makes me happy to see that they put more time into the cosmetics and outfits. This is definitely one of those fun games you don’t take too seriously

I like how they improved the combat in the second game. The first game has a fairly basic rpg system, closer to title like Astral Chain. This game is basically a full blown action rpg even though the combat is so similar on both yet they feel more fleshed out.
Very good point. Definitely much more of a full blown action RPG.
As a person who is posting is about 5 minutes after I finished the first game and is contemplating about getting the second game. I will say the first game feels like a dynasty warriors musou game, from what I see, the second game looks like they improved on the combat a whole bunch, but I don't want that dynasty warrior's feeling. I wanted to feel like it has its own combat system
Great video. Really wanna dive in with this series. I would play on Switch. Have they fixed the Switch performance issues with software update ?

Oh this looks absolutely brilliant! So over the top which is what I always need to pull me in. The art style looks beautiful and characters look really unique. Feels like ARPG meet a beat em up and dungeon crawling. Love when something is ambitious but works. This looks like it works really well here. You have me sold brother! I got the first and second game from Play Asia back in 2021.

I really wish I could see a full list of Yumo's unlock-able outfits. Are they just color edits? Specifically does she have one that bears midriff?
The mid drift should be dlc that I didn’t have access to. But with western release I assume the dlc outfits will get localized to us eshop. But there’s some challenge vids online that showcase her in mid drift and jean shorts
Also I should mention there are different styles of cloths but mostly color edits. And the option to change the appearance of your super outfit in combat

I was confused for a second, forgot that it released in Asia first then came out everywhere else’s later.
Wish I saw this review earlier since I almost didn’t get the game due to not seeing any advertising for it.
Wait, so the summons are now full fledged party members? From what I can tell from the video, all 3 of them are out all the time now. Do they auto battle until you take control of them? Do you still control their abilities?
Yes they do! It is so freaking fun lol. I love that change and they all have wildly different combos and attack styles to play with.
I miss the menus and some of the music from the first game, but yeah, DD2 is really fun.

can you confirm or elaborate a bit more about whether the first instalment is needed to enjoy this one?
The game does a quick intro of the base party members and their relationship is the bedrock of the first game. However, the story and threat in this game is completely new so it is by no means REQUIRED to play the first. I think you could have a blast with this one on its own. Hope that helps!

Yeah stumbled upon it on one of my eshop deep dives it was around 10$ took a chance and fell in love. Might take a look at the play Asia link great review.

How long did the game take for you to finish?
I pretty much did every sidequest and extra thing you could do and it took me around 20 hours.
I played the first game last month after having it sit on my shelf for a while and I loved it. I pre-ordered the PS5 version just the other day and I'm sad I have to wait so long for it to come out. Also wondering if D.ARMS MK2 is gonna get the Sony censorship treatment, cuz Yumo be lookin' a bit more lewd in that one lol
Really hope you have as much with this one as I did and yeah I saw the box art for that version's promo art. I had to do a double take. I am curious if they censor it bc it is more lewd than before but by no means the worst I've seen. Censorship sucks haha. Hopefully they don't. I'm planning to get the US release as well for PS5 to see how the performance improves. Either way thanks for watching!
Decided to check out the first dusk diver when it was on sale for switch a couple weeks ago and loved it 😄 got the sequel as soon as I could and loved it even more 😄 this a good example of a sequel outshining the original 🙂
