Really great video. Thanks for this review. I currently own a K2500 so i'm particularly interested in this new model. One thing with Kurzweil is their richness and depth of tone, built solid to last and mega configurability with all the available multi-zones. It may not quite look as flash as some of the Rolands, Yamaha and Nords, but it is a really reliable workhorse. I gigged with my K2500n for years and always received praise for how the product sounded. Looking forward to getting one....just need the right lottery numbers now :-)
I also have to say, having previously owned a Forte SE -- which I LOVED -- that larger, higher resolution screen is REALLY going to improve VAST editing! I have always appreciated how deceptively easy (yet powerful!) VAST is to work with once I got into it. That said, it involved not only a lot of menu diving but a lot of menu switching to jump between parameters and screens during editing. I hope they've updated the parameter layout to take advantage of the higher resolution but even if they haven't, having so much more info available at a time should really help the editing experience feel less cramped!
The K2700 is very exciting news from Kurzweil. I wonder if the next version is going to have the Forte-style switchgear and looks. That would be so awesome.
Hello Chuck, Thank you very much for your video. I'm interested in buying the K2700 but before I would like to know more about the audio interface quality, because I really want an all-in-one solution, using directly a NT1 Rode in there and recording it... is it a top quality audio interface, without any noise ? Thanks in advance Chuck, and take care. Best regards,
No doubt that the K2700 sounds great, but I have been unable to find any video's on creating my own sound from scratch. Is it all just inbuilt or user samples?
Chuck you did video on PC4 before, How K2700 stock up to PC4 on quality of sounds. I know there are many more of them. I just bought PC4, and was thinking maybe I should get K2700 instead
Hi! I'm hesitating about buying this K2700 or the SP7, I'm interested in sound quality and key action (I like realistic keys) This K2700 has smooth sound transition? what do you think about the SP7?? thanks!
No, this is a Synth/Workstation, not an arranger... Though, you can make drum patterns and bass line etc..... But you'd better with an arranger keyboard like Yamaha Tyros 5 or Genos or Korg Pa4x...
@@Talia.777 Myself a PSR user since school days, PSR 620 ..... Until this Nov PSR S975 I am eyeing the PSR SX900 only if they bring in the additional 3 portamento settings seen in the A5000. into the SX900 (Touch screen is still PITA) Somehow Yamaha messed up moving the advanced voice editing feature, earlier seen in PSR 9000 ,.... out of the unit into a frustrating tool aka YEM. These are the things keeping me 😥
@@AjitV I totally agree with you that YEM is a pain in @ss 😩. Anyway... SX900 is the closest to Genos system. I personally haven't played with it.... Just watched UA-cam videos... In case of A5000, it's oriental (extremely) though with very high quality sounds and styles... If you're into oriental songs, sounds and styles, I understand that portamento features must be very important to you But your PSR S975 is a good keyboard thou..... Even has drum editing feature (I mean for every single drum element) that even Tyros 5 lacks.... But even Genos users have to deal with YEM 🙁😓

Thanks PianoManChuck! The time and detail you put into your videos is REALLY appreciated. Thanks so much for all your great work!

Another well done review Chuck!
Thanks!
I like that they put the Kurzweil name in the middle but fully weighted instead of graded hammer keys is a bit of a bummer.
Hey Don PianomanChuck, greetings from Chile! Good Review 👍

No!!!
PC4 is the flagship!
@@Talia.777That doesn’t make a lot of sense with the 2700 coming in $1000 more expensive.
My only dream is to one day see this in 73 keys size. That would be lovely
What is the difference between the K2700 and the PC4?
where does the sound come from, are there speakers?

Dose is have the E Slap base no #15 (Bank D) from the PC88? The Seinfeld Theme slap bass?
Sorry, couldn't tell you - my review period with this board has ended and I no longer have this board :(
Can I create rhythm patterns, accompaniments with intro, variations, endings and fill'ins like an arranger keyboard ?

@@Talia.777 Thanks for the clarification. This one aspect would put me away from this keyboard
@@AjitV 😊👍
I myself have Tyros 5.
It's fantastic. Good luck

Yes you will be able to. Audio Chocolate
Why don’t Roland or Yamaha half damper pedals work I wonder?
❤
The sounds are really not that great.
There' s video on youtube, 2600 vs 2700 and to my ears 2600 sounds better.
