I adjusted up the handbrake on a 2012 Kia Optima yesterday, same setup as seen here, just take out the grommet on the brake disc and use a flat head screwdriver, to move the adjuster cog in until the hub won’t move and then let it back a little. Simple. Hope that helps
Is it as simple as spinning that thing he touched at the 2:20 mark? I've seen this done like this in other videos. Did you really have the wheel bearing assembly? Seems it wasn't shown removed in this video, correct? Thanks
I've parking brake on caliper, how is possible to adjust? My kia is same as veloster turbo, a kia pro ceed Gt from 2013. Also if my handbrake is tight the wheels aren't really well locked. For a while I had loose hand brake and I tight a little bit the cables in the cabin but was a stuck lever on caliper that sometimes (usually in winter seasons) it gets stuck. I unlock it several times but my handbrake still not so strong and feel like one wheel lock more than the other. I thought it would fix itself but that doesn't happen
I've had cars come in where the cable is like a piano string, yet the parking brake doesn't work. Many don't know that the cable should be slackened off, then the rear shoes are adjusted correctly, only then is the cable adjusted.
