Juris and Nina are considered to be the duo Queen of Hugot songs in the Philippines! They popularized the genre and they are considered to be the Gems of OPM🇵🇭💛
Yes both have diamond record pero ung diamond ni nina 300k ang sales si julie ann nun time na binaba na ang diamond sa 150k if my memory serves me right
@@jefftorres409 Si Julie Anne naka 150,000, si Nina naka 330,000 Pero kung numbers ang pagbabasihan si Regine naka 480,000 while si Jose Marie Chan naka 800,000 units sold.
The more you get into OPM throughout the years, you notice styles never totally goes away. We’re still doing 70s/80s soul to this day. While Western music is constantly looking for the next “new sound”, OPM is constantly trying to stay in touch with its past as it moves forward. Less innovative, but there’s a familiarity that’s felt, even as it crosses music genres, giving one a sense that it’s still home. 😎 i think in that way, it’s like Latino music: you just know it’s Latino when you hear it
I was lucky enough to see her live. It was a concert but held in a small theatre which gave off an intimate vibe. The venue was cozy and I was able to watch her so close (I was on the second floor on a balcony of sorts so I was looking down almost over the stage). She was phenomenal!
You guys still need to react to her classic renditions of “through the fire” & “love moves in mysterious ways” it’s probably some her best performances.
She still got it! How she has remastered her art,her talent and it shows. But I must say, I miss the older version of this song, the simplicity of that focuses more on the lyrics and the emotion it wants to convey. I guess I'm old school that way.
Thats why most of the filipinos are emotional when they heard an opm songs bcos its hits our soul. How I wish you understand tagalog. So that youll feel and understand its message. 🥺
This was one of my favorite songs in early 2000 and surprisingly this song never gets old, atleast for me. It is one of those songs i won't get tired of listening to.
You have to try to see NYOY VOLANTE. It's her EX BF. Nyoy is one of the Jurors at "Tawag ng Tanghalan" (call of stage) singing contest. And currently singing mentor at your" face sounds familiar He has a version of the song "someday" also. But his remarkable song "Nasaan ka na". With his very wonderful falsetto
You guys should see all the Nina live performances. And her version of “Through the fire”. It’s literally 🔥. You guys should check out Thor also. He’s a good singer/vocal coach.
Another fave song of mine 😭 Well done, Waleska and Efra digging in thru this amazing OPM songs. Salute! Nina is still amazing. Love moves in mysterious ways next 😊
Gosh i remembered how this song was like the theme song of my life during my first heart break back in high school that it's still the only song that gave me 100 in karaoke haha
The most successful singer of early 2000’s, The Legendary, and the Diamond Soul Siren Nina. You have to react to her rendition of “Through the fire” Thanks much!
Agree! Nina is accuracy. Please react to SARAH GERONIMO'S "Where you there?" and you will discover another Sarah G persona. Love from the Philippines 💜
One singer I know who became famous from mall tours was Tiffany. She sang a cover of the Beatles' "I Saw Her Standing There" which became a hit on the radio back then.
Because of her way of singing being full if soul she was actually called Asia's SOUL SIREN. And yeah it rain a lot here in The Philippines since we only have 2 season's.
Oh man, I remember this Nina session a couple of years ago. The Wish bus was actually in front of my office building. I had to walk out every now and then just so I can watch. lol
Our Latino brothers loving our music OPM! Maybe because Filipinos are Hispanics. We are the only Hispanic nation in Asia. And all Latinos and Spanish plus Portuguese who visit the country become so at home. Our language derived from Spanish and Malay languages. That is why Hispanics could easily learn our language plus our culture. We are actually more Hispanic than Asian to be honest. Coz our culture, beliefs and traditions are leaning more on Spain's and America's than that of our Asian neighbors. ❤️ Kisses from Manila!
Before they turned into the wish bus, they originally had a glass booth in Eastwood City, Libis in Quezon City, Philippines. That was about 2 decades ago or so. I remember, they were just starting to really develop Eastwood and the Libis area back then.
i remember Morissette saying she loves Nina and apart fr all the icons, she is Her grate influence and personal fave. pls react to more Pinoy Classics!!!
Want to try a different genre? Since you guys are reacting to early 2000 artist, can you also do a reaction to Sitti Navaro, she made BOSA NOVA genre famous back then in the phil. You can try "tattoed on my mind" and "para sa akin".
Nina's songs were my songs back in high school... Here voice was different and to think she became famous along with jimmy(they actually had a thing b4) , bamboo, 90s and early 2000 singers and bands.. (Im 30 these days but she looks younger than I am..)
Yes..OPM 90s-20's songs are the best..Freestyle,Nina,MYMP, Side A, Southboarder..Most of the Filipinos memorize their songs..I know new generation singers are good, but old school songs are better..
I haven't seen any Eraserheads reaction soooo here I am recommending the GREATEST BAND PH EVER HAD. Just can't explain how their music changed lives....Man, their songs unite people. You could just randomly sing a long with a stranger when a E-heads song plays. Eraserheads songs are a must in every drinking session. There's a sense of comfort in singing their songs whenever played on public and everyone just gives their heart out singing. Mabuhay ang musikang pilipino! ANG HULING EL BIMBO - greatest song ever made!!!!!! haha ua-cam.com/video/OKdKwKN6KjA/v-deo.html

Nina is the Soul Siren of the Philippines ❤️
She actually popularized the acoustic phenomenon in the Philippines.
she is the acoustic queen in the Philippines that has a Diamond Award...
Nina, jimmy bondoc, paulo santos, nyoy volante’s song are the kind that you’ll listen while you’re chillin’ with a beer on a pub or in a coffee shop
Also MYMP (juris)
Relaxing music.
also Kyla
For my opinion , she's the acoustic , sweet , raspy female" original" voice of philippines. Made the acoustic more loved by filipinos.
Should we tell them to react to Before I Let You Go by Freestyle?
One of my faves from the 90s❤️
Up
Yes!! Would love to see their reaction!
Oo nga
Yeah they should. Freestyle is one of the best band and vocalists ever.

Her cover of through the fire is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

The only female recording artist who has diamond award here in the Philippines...Mariah is one in the US who receive also
Just one? Celine has two? Or maybe three if she decides to update the certification of her albums.
Julie anne san jose nakadiamond award na din.

And Mariah is Nina's biggest musical inspiration. What are the odds
You gotta see Juris, still on the moving Wishbus, singing A Love to Last A Lifetime... She's sooooo soothing.

I was lucky enough to see her live. It was a concert but held in a small theatre which gave off an intimate vibe. The venue was cozy and I was able to watch her so close (I was on the second floor on a balcony of sorts so I was looking down almost over the stage). She was phenomenal!

Seeing and hearing her live in an acoustic set-up was one of the best performance I have seen.
Her Love Moves In Mysterious Ways is a must listen.
She still got it! How she has remastered her art,her talent and it shows. But I must say, I miss the older version of this song, the simplicity of that focuses more on the lyrics and the emotion it wants to convey. I guess I'm old school that way.
Thank you for all the OPM throwbacks. 😊

when waleska described Nina as soulful, i was like.. yeah cuz she is the soul siren. .
I like how Nina controls her voice. She knows just when to do it airy, raspy etc.
Watch Frenchie,Bituin and Radha singing Saving all my love without practice on wish bus

One singer I know who became famous from mall tours was Tiffany. She sang a cover of the Beatles' "I Saw Her Standing There" which became a hit on the radio back then.
Nina was unstoppable during her prime years. Like she's the hugot queen before Moira came.
