I pray for Zambia and Nigeria at the Olympics 2024. We know some teams have undue advantage. I like Morocco very much if there was a third slot i could have prayed for Morocco.
Biased analysis by that journalist who sounded south African. You can bet Zambia will beat Morocco. It's talent and experience that matters here, not how much money you have as a country. Ni bola na Lesa!
Don't get your hopes up too much. Ghana's Black Queens exposed your weaknesses in that 2nd leg tie, and if Morocco (who are now coached by Jorge Vilda, remember him?) were to exploit those weaknesses, they'll tear you apart. Anything can happen in these 2 games.
Even though South Africa have won their last 2 meetings with Nigeria, something tells me it will be Nigeria that makes it. And we need it more (our last Olympics was in 2008). But my problem is Patrice Motsepe (who is from South Africa) and CAF referees. The refs that handled the Nigeria-Cameroon 1st leg game were terrible. I don't know if the refs had an agenda against Nigeria or whether they were just poor, which is very bad PR for African referees. As for Zambia vs Morocco, that I CANNOT predict! With Barbara Banda and Rachel Kundananji, Zambia are ALWAYS a threat, and those 2 can wreck any defense on their day. But Morocco are now being coached by Jorge Vilda (who won the last Women's World Cup with Spain) and I saw his input in their 2nd leg tie with Tunisia. If he fully gets them to play like the Spaniards, then that will be a huge coup on their part. I know Zambia beat Morocco 2-0 and 6-2 in double-header friendlies last year, but those games happened just after the terrible and unfortunate earthquake that struck Morocco back then, and I didn't think the Moroccan girls were up for it, as they were still reeling from that earthquake. So this one is hard to predict. Ultimately, I think VAR should be included in these qualifiers, as it would ensure that whichever 2 teams qualify, they would do so deservedly and fairly, and not because of refereeing bias or incompetence. That's my take!
Your program is a welcomed source to find out more about Women’s Futbol on the African continent. I hope American podcasters (Attacking Third or Just Woman Sports) find ways of collaboration with your program. There is a lack of awareness of African women’s futbol throughout the Americas. Attacking Third (Paramount+) and Just Women Sports (Snacks, and others) has several podcasts covering women’s futbol.
