Exactly 💯! Its not as if the bulk of the funds was spent on experienced players just kids with talent and a new manager. He obviously planned to choose Chelsea as underachievers weeks ago when we were struggling but his bias cant make him see anything positive happening now.

@@19keverick91 well they certainly weren't forced to start from scratch, it's what they wanted to do. So far it hasn't been very successful, but I believe eventually the players they have bought will show their potential and Chelsea will probably challenge for the title within the next two seasons.

yeah raya has been kinda average tbh. his expected goals saved is at -2.66, the likes of Ederson, Vicario, Pickford and Martinez all rank higher. Imo cleansheets is more a reflection of the overall defensive performance, xgs is a better metric for keepers specifically

You could argue that Pep should be manager of the year, cause he missed KDB for many months, missed Stoes for a long time, Missed Ake, Doku and Haaland for 8-12 games, and STILL it´s in there hands before the last game. That´s impressive..
I think it goes sort of under the radar when City have injuries because Pep always adapts and keeps winning regardless
Liverpool at one point had 8/9 players from their starting 11 injured and they were still challenging until GW 34
City winning anything isn't remotely impressive. It's the bare minimum considering the cheating.

I don’t think poch underachieved with Chelsea this season. They reached two cup finals whiched they could have won, but poch can’t go onto the pitch and finish the chances they had in both finals . Also compared to last year they looking like to qualified for Europe. I don’t get it with everyone saying Chelsea spent this amount of money. Yes they did but sold or lost half of the squad last year (koulibaly,Mendy,kovacic, Kante,pulisic,loftus cheek, azpi etc... Of course now you have to buy new players when you sell half the squad. Helps when you cheat and have bench players that would go into the 1st team of majority of the league. Their benched keeper bests all but martinez, pickford, ederson, allison, and maybe vicario/raya. Their benched defenders fit in all the teams bar arsenal. Their benched midfield same thing. Their benched wingers and striker like doku, alvarez starts for any team below 6th. 115fc and cheating with the squad depth crazy wages and keeping top class players on the bench, buy a guy for 50+ mil and then just bench him next season and buy a new guy for 60+ mil to replace him with.

1. Mendy and Kepa - both their GKs
2. Azpi, Kouli - 2 of their starting back 4
3. Kante, Kova, Jorgi, Mount, RLC, Hall, Gilmour, Ampadu - entire midfield including depth
4. Havertz, Puli, Auba, CHO, Ziyech - major chunk of their FWDs
This has forced the owners to go out and spend big. Context is important when speaking about spending 1 billion.
QUESTION: The golden boot is given to the top scorer irregardless of how good his team was so long as he had the MOST goals. Why won't the manager of the season be the manager who wins the league? He has (MOSTLY) won the most games, scored most goals, conceded least goals and motivated his team throughout the season even in difficult moments????

Dont get why everyone is calling out Robbie in the comments. The rest of the panel all picked Raya and Saliba for player of the season was a well argued case and Arteta for manager of the season is also fair especially as Arsenal could still win the league.
