This Just in I've found out that Garchomp's High Stance is the Pokemon Ability Rough Skin. When Garchomp Armors a Physical Move through his High Stance, the opponent Takes 10 damage per hit.
I've always wondered why Gardevoir recovered some HP when I was playing with friends and was just posing while playing around. Thanks so much about this info Shofu, it's gonna help out a lot!
+shofu Someone below responded about Weavile shofu. 12mariokart says Weavile's up stance is a counter that when hit blocks the opponent's ability to use burst mode for the current round. Sounds crazy actually.
This is easily the coolest freakin' video on this game yet. I love that amount of depth this game keeps throwing on me. They clearly put a TON of thought into the individual Pokemon and their uniqueness. I'm hoping they tone down damage in the future and pull back the heavy scaling a tad so going for more difficult combos are worth doing. Also doing the same to burst attacks (lowering their damage overall, but allowing the scaling to ease up a little to allow the damage to be worth it outside of 1-2 hit hit-confirms). I hope this game gets support, it's a treat that Pokemon fans and fighting game players have been hoping to see mesh for so, *SO* long..
Thanks for this, Shofu! I saw you posted about Blaziken's stances on Twitter, and was curious about other character's stances but I was a bit too lazy to test them myself.
Vid on when to use synergy burst in a match along with when to use synergy burst attacks and maybe a video on where the best placement of skill points (think thats what theyre called) go in a pokemon
In High-Stance in Duel Phase, Weavile will restore its Guard Shield back to normal quicker. Found on serebii www.serebii.net/pokken/characters/weavile.shtml
Thank you for making tips and tricks videos it helped me so much in my game play and made playing the game funer for me thank you shofu and keep being awesome
Oh wow I knew the about stances, but I didn't know about the other abilities they grant you. I don't know if the tutorial skipped that or if I wasn't paying attention, but this is why people should watch your video!
garchomp high stance is his 'rough skin' ability, he takes reduced damage from normal attacks and the enemy takes damage too. I've been testing it it's fairly consistant
I've really like Sceptile for his design and Speed category, even though I feel like I'm still getting out-sped by Pikachu and even Lucario at times. But, I started to teeter towards Blaziken and this info saying that can negate a lot of ranged play just by being in up stance is kind of awesome.
Adding in that Blaziken, Machamp, and the Mewtwo's can Low Stance Garchomp and Mewtwo's Counter Attacks (they pierce when fully charged). Gengar and Chandelure can completely avoid them with High Stance.
+shofu this is a lifesaver to know, thank you shofu for making a video that goes further in depth than serebii! If you are able, could you make a video on good ways to incorporate the stances on some of the characters defensively and offensively, such as what your example Charizard did?
Damn that is awesome! I really want to know what Weaviles stance does lol! Anyway, nice tips shofu =D how about later doing detailed gameplay tips for each individidual character, as some of them have gimmicks that most people don't know about or just can't use properly or get around them, liek Shadows Mewtwos HP loss for every Attack, or Mewtwos Synergy loss for every attack etc, Charizards flying stance etc. =)
Maybe it's just me but I've noticed that a severe lack of people online know about or use the charge atks and I don't mean how you can wind atks up there are actual charge moves that almost the whole cast has. Gengar has one that awesome for mix-ups and gives you a nice synergy boost, i can almost mega evolve per round because of it and there are some other pokés that can do some cool things with it like suicune and gardevoir. I don't know if there is enough there to make another video on but like the cadc I think it's something that's be slept on.
i went through the tutorials a nd i guess i may have missed it i'll have to check again but super useful, i knew it had to do something cause decidueye always looked like he might be charging something up
For the various pokes that have them, is there any benefit to using the shield/counter effects of the stances instead of just regular blocking and countering? I haven't seen any clever exploits, but then again I'm still pretty low rank so what about in higher rank/professional play?
So outta curious shofu, outside of the stance that counter attacks, when do you think stances like Libre and Braixen's high stances should be applied in battle? like when would be the right time to charge up the support for those two characters, or the synergy gauge for Lucario, Pika and the Mewtwos?
Does Gengar actually move faster when he's in his stances? Also isn't the ability to move while in stance something unique to him (and maybe Chandelure?)
+shofu can you show some gardevoir battles? i want to main her but dont have the game yet and i have not found any content on her (not that i have been looking all that hard :P)
Attack a grabbing opponent = crit Grab a countering opponent = crit Fully charged counter = crit Plus just hitting someone when they're in the middle of another attack
+shofu Ok thanks, also I saw on a guy's stream that you played him and lost. He was a Shadow Mewtwo name Lunaire. He was good and it seems like you had NO idea what the fuck was going on. This was earlier today to. Can we expect to see a video of this?
+Rank 70 adding on to what hyper luigi said, certain moves give bonus damage +animation when they crit. like garchomps dragon rush vs. a grab or sand tomb vs. a counter.
I know I asked this before but anybody got tips on Garachomp? With the stance information I can help his painful synergy growth, but with an iffy high stance ability i'm not sure what I really get out of it.
It’s a bit late, but Garchomp’s high stance reduces the damage of the first hit received by half and sends the other half back to the opponent. Nice way to integrate rough skin.
I main Shadow Mewtwo so this was good to know. Before that i used Gengar manily and i always used his stances but i just thought they were alternate movement methods lol
About Gardevoir's Low Stance, I assume it simply lets her avoid high attacks and stuff, but... I was fighting a CPU Blaziken and had its behavior set to Counter Stance. He could not hit Gardevoir while she was in Low Stance. I'm gonna assume his counter simply hits high, but just noting this. I'll test this later. I'll assume a shorter character will counter hit her even in her low stance.
WE FOUND WEAVILE'S HIGH STANCE, CLICK THIS LINK twitter.com/shofu/status/712026482269429760
+shofu so weavile regenerates its shield? that's crazy, get a support to get your opponent off you for 2sec and you're back in the game
+shofu Pikachu's Low Stance has the same effect, just tested it out, better start applying this to yo game shofu.
shofu pls I'm begging you
I need the outro song in my life
+Egbert Levenstone pretty sure that's a magikarp festival remix
This Just in I've found out that Garchomp's High Stance is the Pokemon Ability Rough Skin. When Garchomp Armors a Physical Move through his High Stance, the opponent Takes 10 damage per hit.
PIKACHU'S LOW STANCE twitter.com/shofu/status/712048001418727428
i love gengar's low stance, he just drop into the ground
+TheKingNappy I think you mean you love Gengar period :P
+Grant Woodhouse his mega is badass what are you talking about?!
His hands are in the ground because he's a *ghost*
He's so cool, I wouldn't want to see him in real life
Weavile's High Stance recovers his guard faster.
The internet will probably never forget about Gardevoirs high stance now.
Oh shit I was wondering why I wasn't getting grabbed sometimes as Zard, now I know why...damn that shit is really useful
hey i saw your combo video nice work
Hey whatsup intro
Charizard: high stance* weavile grab fails, charizard: fuck yea
"Charizard' high stance negates grabs" HOLY SHIT I COULD NEGATE A GRAB & PUNISH WITH A SEISMIC TOSS!!!
I've always wondered why Gardevoir recovered some HP when I was playing with friends and was just posing while playing around. Thanks so much about this info Shofu, it's gonna help out a lot!
I legit was excited to see what Weavile's does but I got fucking shot down.
+NewBarkTown :[
+NewBarkTown Avatar fits the dissapointment
Me too. Maybe it ups the amount of Synergy stolen when Shadow Claw connects???
+shofu Someone below responded about Weavile shofu.
12mariokart says Weavile's up stance is a counter that when hit blocks the opponent's ability to use burst mode for the current round.
Sounds crazy actually.
+Wasabifold That's a massive lie lol, that'd be broken as hell not to mention very easy to find
This is easily the coolest freakin' video on this game yet. I love that amount of depth this game keeps throwing on me. Lol I'm glad you're making these it really helps, you're amazing 😍😂
Thanks for this, Shofu! I saw you posted about Blaziken's stances on Twitter, and was curious about other character's stances but I was a bit too lazy to test them myself.
These tutorials are great shofu, you explain everything really clearly and have some really useful tips. Charizard's grab counter is powerful!
This was so useful! I had no idea stances had other uses besides using low and high attacks
hey thanks for the tips shofu! please keep adding more so we can all enjoy the hype that is pokken
Vid on when to use synergy burst in a match along with when to use synergy burst attacks and maybe a video on where the best placement of skill points (think thats what theyre called) go in a pokemon
In High-Stance in Duel Phase, Weavile will restore its Guard Shield back to normal quicker. Found on serebii
www.serebii.net/pokken/characters/weavile.shtml
This was actually a very informative video. I knew the stances changed your attacks but i didnt know they had effects.
I had no idea about this! Great video Master Shofu. Hopefully I get to see you online.
I love how Gardevoir and Machamp have stances that just put the goods out there for everybody to enjoy.
Thank you for making tips and tricks videos it helped me so much in my game play and made playing the game funer for me thank you shofu and keep being awesome
This videos are amazing, good job Shofu!
Oh wow I knew the about stances, but I didn't know about the other abilities they grant you. I don't know if the tutorial skipped that or if I wasn't paying attention, but this is why people should watch your video!
The low stance on weavile is a counter move.. If your in low stance and they try hit you he negates the attack and hits back with a night slash.
that's not the stance, it's his down a. Taunt.
Gardavoir high stance is what i see in google images
Does lucario's low stance do anything? I really need to know
garchomp high stance is his 'rough skin' ability, he takes reduced damage from normal attacks and the enemy takes damage too. I've been testing it it's fairly consistant
Weavile's stance is a counter. When hit it will negate your opponent to use burst mode for a round that is currently in session
Lyin ass
This is neat as hell. Thanks for posting this, would probably never figure it out by myself.
aye shofu these tutorials are clean. keep it up
This analysis video, from this point on, changes the paradigm of future battles. Now, may the best fighter win.
thanks for the tips shofu
2:11
Gengar trying to make up dat azz
This vid is a godsend. I play blaziken and now I have another option for defending against the spam characters. Good stuff shofu.
DAMNIT SHOFU. I bet I wasn't the only Weavile main who was waiting the whole video to see what his stances do ;-;
I've really like Sceptile for his design and Speed category, even though I feel like I'm still getting out-sped by Pikachu and even Lucario at times. But, I started to teeter towards Blaziken and this info saying that can negate a lot of ranged play just by being in up stance is kind of awesome.
Nice vid. The outro song sounds like a magikarp festival remix? Where could I find it?
This is very useful to know! Thank you Shofu!
love this game and it keeps getting deeper, cant wait to see some high end play when people have gotten a good chance to mine the games data.
this makes the game so much diverse than it already is
you better legit tell us to play the tutorial in every one of these videos
ayyy at least sceptile got an effect, albeit a not very useful one. It's still good to know what your opponents stances do tho.
Didn’t expect to see you here lol
Adding in that Blaziken, Machamp, and the Mewtwo's can Low Stance Garchomp and Mewtwo's Counter Attacks (they pierce when fully charged). Gengar and Chandelure can completely avoid them with High Stance.
Ayy Shofu does Pikachu get anything with Low Stance? It looks like something's charging but I can't figure it out for the life of me.
+ConnorEatsPants Same as Weavile's High Stance, recharges your shield.
pikachu libre's stances are like taunts gotta love it!
1:20 gotta love the ho-oh in the background :D
+shofu this is a lifesaver to know, thank you shofu for making a video that goes further in depth than serebii! If you are able, could you make a video on good ways to incorporate the stances on some of the characters defensively and offensively, such as what your example Charizard did?
THAT OUTRO THO, Magikarp Festival Remix, PLS JESUS I NEED THAT TRACK NOW ITS SO LIT
Everytime I hear something avoids high attacks I wonder if that applies to overheads.
I did not know stances had special effects. This is important to learn for the meta game.
How come chandelure's high stance has him glow on occasion? I cant figure out the specifics of making it happen or what it does
+shofu Love your Pokken content man! Really helping me out!!!!!!
Please do a detail breakdown of the attack triangle
Probably mentioned already, but Chandelure can move during both high and low stance.
I like how the balls on Sceptiles back glows when he recorveres HP
Maybe it's just me but I've noticed that a severe lack of people online know about or use the charge atks and I don't mean how you can wind atks up there are actual charge moves that almost the whole cast has. i went through the tutorials a nd i guess i may have missed it i'll have to check again but super useful, i knew it had to do something cause decidueye always looked like he might be charging something up
Weird how some of the stances have no effects. Is it just that we may not have discovered the effects?
Yo shofu your pikachu game is dope. Keep it up.
aye Shofu very helpful thanks ...and got dat Festival remix popn 👍
For the various pokes that have them, is there any benefit to using the shield/counter effects of the stances instead of just regular blocking and countering? I haven't seen any clever exploits, but then again I'm still pretty low rank so what about in higher rank/professional play?
Are you going to do a video after stat leveling up and combos?
That is some useful information right there.
shofu you think you can do one on the A button stuff when you hold it down after an attack
Do the synergy modes of each character have different stance effects? I think gengar's does.
Needed this thanks shofu
+shofu can you show some gardevoir battles? i want to main her but dont have the game yet and i have not found any content on her (not that i have been looking all that hard :P)
but I really do have a question. do you think we will see shadow mewtwo in other game other than pokken?
Next could you do something on critical hits? I don't know what causes them and if they are tied to certain moves. Thx
+Rank 70 Nah, critical hits happen when you hit somebody performing an action
Attack a grabbing opponent = crit
Grab a countering opponent = crit
Fully charged counter = crit
Plus just hitting someone when they're in the middle of another attack
+shofu Ok thanks, also I saw on a guy's stream that you played him and lost. He was a Shadow Mewtwo name Lunaire. He was good and it seems like you had NO idea what the fuck was going on. This was earlier today to. Can we expect to see a video of this?

+JustAnotherDreamer Thanks. :p
I know I asked this before but anybody got tips on Garachomp? With the stance information I can help his painful synergy growth, but with an iffy high stance ability i'm not sure what I really get out of it.
How did you find these out?
Does sceptile not get a low stance thing?
Great vid shofu
It’s a bit late, but Garchomp’s high stance reduces the damage of the first hit received by half and sends the other half back to the opponent. Nice way to integrate rough skin.
I HAD NO CLUE ABOUT THIS AND I PLAYED THE TUTORIAL
Damn, I did not realise any of this. Really useful guide so thanks a bundle! :D now I can have an edge when recording with friends >:)
Shofu pulling that white boy tone.
Can you do a video on support gauges?
Thanks for the tips man I really wanted to know what lucario's high stance dose
So does machamp' slow stance counter low projectiles or no?
can you do a vid that showcases the uniqueness of each pokemon, like how gengars burst cant be blocked or how shadow mewtwos moves use HP?
I main Shadow Mewtwo so this was good to know. Before that i used Gengar manily and i always used his stances but i just thought they were alternate movement methods lol
What about Diggersby tho? Or is he future dlc?
the song at the end goes hard
Did you ever add or rematch that Suicune that bodied you? I'm not sure if that game allows things like that
Here's a suggestion. For the love of god make more pokken tips and tricks videos so we can all be shofu
Holy fuck this is helpful. Thanks again shofu
Do stances change or get any better while in burst mode?
About Gardevoir's Low Stance, I assume it simply lets her avoid high attacks and stuff, but... I was fighting a CPU Blaziken and had its behavior set to Counter Stance. He could not hit Gardevoir while she was in Low Stance. I'm gonna assume his counter simply hits high, but just noting this. I'll test this later. I'll assume a shorter character will counter hit her even in her low stance.
Thank you this was helpful. I did not know sceptiles stance can heal him
so you gonna do a vid on the leaked Pokemon Go footage?
When is your next stream shofu?
+shofu I think it makes buffs last a little bit longer
Does low stance do anything for chars. like Lucario?
what about Pika Libre's low stance?
I got one question for ya... WHAT'S THE OUTROOO!!!
Very helpful. That was something I did not take seriously .
