    You mentioned New Mexico. I thought you were in Kansas.
    Edit: NVM. I see that New Mexico is close enough to blow dust to Kansas.

    Great videos! I have a summerhouse in a windy spot.
    I’m thinking off placing a windturbine on the roof to connect to a radiator for heating the kitchen. How much heat can I expect? What type of heater could function, watts needed?
    In the Winters when we are not that present, it can maby rise the indoorclimate a tiny bit!? And at the same time maintain batteries from lawnmover, boat and camperwagon. Am I a dreamer or is this theoreticly posible? Is it worth the effort?

    Can you do a review of the Ugrinsky VAWT? Check on YT for the video titled 1755 How To Make A Super Efficient Wind Turbine - The Ugrinsky VAWT Made Easy
    Thanks much. I think it should be interesting to compare the performance under different conditions.

    Great video. That I2000 is awesome. I have the i1500 which is great. But I really wish I'd bought the windsafe version for only about $150 more. Did you manage to get replacement A30 controllers I wonder?. It looks like yyou have one of those CD60 relay/timers on the LHS.

      The i1500 is a solid turbine, the only reason I replaced mine was to swap up to a 48v model. I ran it in similarly high winds and never had a problem with the turbine itself. I did get more A30 controllers today, I order from a seller on eBay (deeplearnings)...even shipping from China they got to me in a week.

      @@ToysforWatts is it best to get heli 2.0's? did you modify yours to get such good results?

    Does the windsafe and heli still have problems with the blades striking the tower? Or did you get a fix for that?

    • @ToysforWatts
      @ToysforWatts  Рік тому

      The Heli hitting the tower was entirely my fault...when I first built it I had this ridiculous idea of rungs going up the stub that I could stand on if I needed to climb up. The rungs stuck out just a little from the sides of the stub, with the original blades they were fine but with the upgraded blades not so much. I should have cut the off when I put the new blades up. All on me.
      The i2000, however, I ended up put a small spacer under the tilt and trimming the blades down just a little and that resolved it. iSta Breeze says the black blades are more rigid so they shouldn't be an issue, but the white blades were only striking under really hard blows. Soemone with a tower that's a little more uniform and who doesn't so frequently have 50mph winds would fair better with the white blades but I've take to recommending everyone just jump on the black blades...they're more rigid and they also fair better (my white blades all show signs of minor sun damage but the black blades just faded a little after more than two years).

      @@ToysforWatts Oh very cool I'm going to move out to the Montezuma, Kansas area or perhaps farther west to around Springfield, Colorado as soon as my house sells.
      I'm going to set up an R&D facility for vertical axis turbine designs with a very special twist. Pardon the pun but I have an idea to make wind power a LOT more economically viable. A way to produce output, not according to the wind's unpredictable nature but according to the historical demand curve or simply a flat output using an alternative power storage system.
      Maybe some day we can join forces.
