      I agree, sampling your own compositions can be one of the most entertaining things to do and usually feels great

    fire bro, just subscribed. I play guitar so the phrasing is spot on. What vst did you use for the choir if you dont mind me asking? It sounded like EastWest

    • @Prod8th
      @Prod8th  3 місяці тому +3

      Appreciate the feedback and support! Youre spot on, it was EastWest Hollywood Backup Singers using the WordBuilder. It's currently my go to choir for these type of samples

    bro wish you explained the theory behind the chords rather than just showing us, also what drum kitit is that? Ezdrummer or addictive drums?

    • @Prod8th
      @Prod8th  3 місяці тому +2

      Absolutely, I'm working on a chord progression video, im no theory expert but I'l try to break it down.
      Also for the drumkits it was a combination of FPC(In the sample) FPC Rides and Toms (In The Beat), DrumMica(Hi Hats) and MT Power Drumkit Free(Crashes)

      😂 U need to learn theory first and then you'll realize it's a number system when it comes to Piano row. It's literally a formula and once u get it u can start expiramnting and veing creative.
      But always count up or down on a piano roll and if you understand that all chords and notes are separate by numbers that work and don't work together you'll see.

    • @1986-e3s

      At 0:44 u can see he crated a c minor chord simply by counting from the first note in this case, c... to the next c 12 counts up.then from the 2nd c u count 3 which will give u a minor. Or if u counted up 4 it'll be major. Then start over and count from the 2nd c again up 7 counts. It'll always give you the 5th note of the scale ur in. In this case it's c.
      And for more "advanced chords" just keep counting. From the 2nd c you can count 10 counts and ull have a 7th chord.
      It's so simple BUT U NEED TO PUT IN THE TIME TO "GET" IT

    • @1986-e3s
      @1986-e3s 3 місяці тому

      At 2:27 you can see the complexity of the chords but when u know the number system you can start counting the spaces between each note in the chords and u will notice a pattern. Similar #s but diff sound and feel.
      I love harmony!

    question- when you made the beat it was 85... then bounced it at 58?

    • @Prod8th
      @Prod8th  3 місяці тому +3

      Absolutely, the speed of the sample was always supposed to be 58 but I was composing at 85 for a few reasons,
      1: To get an idea of how it would sound faster
      2: to actually create the sample faster and save time
      3: to achieve a different groove, some rhythms sound better faster, some better slower.
      Then after exporting the sample, I speed it up again to 84 bpm this time
