@QUATR00 First of all, a Toyota AE65 is real (it's kind of rare because it's a little old now) and the Nissan GTR is also kind of rare, but all of the cars featured in the game exist in real life (except the Sil-Eighty, which was a modified 180SX not developed by Nissan).
In some cases it's to speed up after going into the corner slowly. As you didn't lose all the speed during drifting (cause you still accelerate even while drifting) you can shift back up out of the corner and get alot of speed. Ofcourse drifting isn't the fastest way through corners, but there are ways to bypass it. And Initial D has very weird ways to do so.
let me give u a tip....break early, shift down to gear 4...at the heart of the turn press the accelerator 3 times.....then go full out....the first few hairpins u dont need to break, just go full out turn..when u did that he should be catching up to you....block him off until the next turn comes, when the turn comes u dont need to break, u should be faster than him but the next turn break and shift down.and keep this going for the rest of the uphill, u should win this should help you with others
@azan97 To drift properly, use manual transmission, This is just turning normally. Shift down at beginning of the corner, most likely 3 or even 2 in very tight corners, So anyway, you shift from 4 to 3 mostly, make the turn, and during the drift counter-steer ofcourse, and shift back to 4 nearing the end of the corner. Not to forget, when shifting down, release gas, and then hit the gas right after you start going sideways. If you are still interested try this, works also on arcade machines etc
@QUATR00 I have this and I thought so too. I was about to sell it so I gave it one more play and it clicked. Once you get further into the game on the higher levels you need to take the tight corners with such precision not to lose speed, it is very satisfying. It is a really good racer, it just takes a lot of effort to like.
@troxmorgan you failed to mention other ways if initiating a drift along with braking, shifting weight, and the most important being the gas pedal. not only that, the way to control a drift differs with each car because of suspension and drive train. you don't always have to counter-steer either and depending on the car, you would end up crashing if you did
Someone ever fought the guy with the yellow car? That person is kinda hard,i finished him after 4 try's and then my fingers were real red! I paused for a few mins to rest my fingers. Initial d on psp was easyer than on ps2.
u mean takahshi keisuke who drives a yellow FD3S in akagi...hes pretty easy...the first few hairpins u can just turn without braking or releasing the pedal
@SuperCartiel cuz it probbaly wouldnt sell that much over here cuz really only fuckin americans want is naruto n all thos animes initial d really underrated over here if you think about it but ppl in japan love it
ha this is mean game me and my friends play this at the arcade all the time on the machine with steering wheel n pedal ps you should play in manual way easier to drift and you get more speed

My best favorite car in initial D, the NissaN Skyline GTR r34, BNR, like no other, the best car for me;-)

The most unrealistic part is that Takumi is not driving his AE86.
No, it's made by SEGA Rosso, the same people behind Sega Rally and Sega Rally 2 (when they were under the AM5 division)

I like the soundtrack I hear this when I play nfs hot pursuit
I played this game in the arcade, it was fun.
It definitely proves Nakazato's point. No matter how good Takumi is at driving, Itsuki's Eight-Five cannot exceed its limitations.

the gtr 34 and the ae86 are the true japanese drifters

a mod/boot software helps with that and the needed tools for the lil' button in the slim and a flat hook for the brick. this, i know.
I wish they would put courses like this on GT5, It would be nice to have a touge spot besides deep forest or trial mountain........
Did not have to push a button. The car makes the drift automatically. It was made for that. ;)
it's strange when the distance is about 212, then the player cannot make additional distance to be further with the enemy
ahhh initial d, the game where even GT-Rs can drift!
Someone ever fought the guy with the yellow car? That person is kinda hard,i finished him after 4 try's and then my fingers were real red! I paused for a few mins to rest my fingers. Initial d on psp was easyer than on ps2.
Valeu!!! :)
Shame this didn't get a western release, it looks like a nice little arcade racer. Excellent cheesy J-pop soundtrack as well.
U can emulate it on PC
its not j-pop dumbo its eurobeat
you take the hardest corner in myogi real slow. you can take that corner at 190kmh if you time the drift right
No genki has a much better drifting/handeling engine. In TXRD and TXRD2 the physics are mastered perfectly. Takes a while to get used to.
How hard is the menu if you don't speak japanese
FroztiProductions not really.. just press o all times..
X or either O.
Wow, I want that game for the ps2!!
i like the songs there motivating
Thanks!!! :)
@paraparaozi It only works when you drive the whole track with only 180kmph...
oh wow you gave him a handle cap and you destroy him completly rofl
UR SO PRO!!
@QUATR00 What do you mean by "the car brands are fictional"?
he versed against takumi...the 2nd guy in myogi, he used the 85 coz he wanted to take revenge for itsuki after u beat the crap out of itsuki
@achewpwns Ahhh, Initial D, the game which proves that 4WD can drift which is obliviously true...
its like initial d arcade stage just put on ps2
How do i drift then? i can't drift at all... what's the button and steps to press?
@Mclarenf1lover123 probably because it was where it started?
oh yeah use the R34 against the 85 with itsuki driving thats a lil cheap wouldent u say ? but sweet driving man ur pretty good
this game was made by genki correct? the physics seem almost identical to tokyo xtreme racer 3.
I wasn't paying attention at 1:01 and I was like WHAT THE FUCK?!?!
@QUATR00 good point
@idxrider Almost everyone knows when to countersteer and when not to, i'm just saying it just in case.
u mean takahshi keisuke who drives a yellow FD3S in akagi...hes pretty easy...the first few hairpins u can just turn without braking or releasing the pedal
Nope. This game was made by SegaRosso.
Wangan Midnight was made by Genki.
Very cool!! ;)
@JayVox6699 how is nintendo graphics bad?
@Hyperrifle14 those car names don't exist in real life...
were can i downlaod it for ps 2 ?
where do you get the download for this please tell me
totally unrealistic of course but yea that's how it's done in the game
Is there a pc version ANYWHERE ?
hes in a gtr, there almost impossible to drift
lol 1:00
Remember the first episode
SPACEBOY FTW
What was the point in not starting at the beginning? and by the way 10/10 good driving!
@DerrickTrickzU does it work on any ps2 or is it region locked?
Track seems to be so easy
SPACEBOY!!!
Itsuki is very slow!!! ;)
@SuperCartiel cuz it probbaly wouldnt sell that much over here cuz really only fuckin americans want is naruto n all thos animes initial d really underrated over here if you think about it but ppl in japan love it

@sunnyddude
fml.
@xxtherobotmanxx Space boy
This game is so unrealistic...
No one would be able to beat Takumi!
(lol)
Actually someone can his father of course
Yeah i mean him. He's so annoying. Mistake one corner. And he just wooshes past you. But i won him anyway. After about 30 tries hehe.
LOLOLOL ITSUKI
@QUATR00 playskool cars aren't real child. toyotas and nissans are
AT Booooooo!
ha this is mean game me and my friends play this at the arcade all the time on the machine with steering wheel n pedal ps you should play in manual way easier to drift and you get more speed
not always i dont think?
Was dat naruto in the beginning lol
@lpplayer2011 Yeah, well I'd like to try it if it was in English, though...

@achewpwns Lol.
Pretty damn slow GT-R
just a game cry baby. go back to nfs

you cant make another person play the same as you.
nice driving but from my point of view this is one fucked up game...
guess you dont know what tough battles are...
this is the boringest map ever
oh boohoo. its here for new players to get the feel of initial d machinics.
Probably the worst racing game I've ever seen...
you would not like the anime then
